Suggestion for a laptop

I’m starting CSE soon and was planning to bring my MacBook, but I heard some of the lab courses don’t fully support macOS. Can anyone suggest what laptop I should get instead? I don’t want anything too flashyy just something minimal and reliable for classes

North Indian joining KL University (B.Tech CSE Lateral Entry) – Need Honest Reviews

Hey everyone,

I'm from Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, and I'll most likely be joining KL University for B.Tech CSE through lateral entry (direct admission into 2nd year).

Honestly, I'm a bit nervous because I'll be moving to a completely different state, so I'd love to hear from current students or alumni.

A few questions:

  1. Is there any discrimination against North Indian students? How's the overall campus environment? Any issues with ragging or language barriers?

  2. Are the placements really as good as the university advertises, especially for CSE? What's the reality?

  3. How difficult are the semester exams? Do professors provide question banks or important questions before exams?

  4. Will it be easy to make friends if I'm not from South India? Are students generally friendly and welcoming?

  5. How's the hostel food for North Indian students? Is it decent, or does it take a lot of getting used to?

I've also heard the university is quite stric things like dress code (no jeans), restrictions on phones in class, attendance rules, etc. Is that actually true? If yes, how strict is it in daily campus life?

I'd really appreciate honest opinions the good, the bad, and the ugly. I'm about to make a big decision, so any advice would mean a lot.

Thanks in advance!

help regarding tcs nqt exam 2027 batch

Hi everyone, I have my TCS NQT in 20 days and since it's one of the few mass hiring opportunities, I really want to prepare well.

For coding, I'm comfortable with Arrays, Strings, Binary Search, Linked Lists, Stacks, and some basic math. I've heard that recent exams are asking Binary Trees, BST, and even DP. How much should I prepare these topics for TCS?

Also, for Aptitude, I've practiced mostly from CareerRide. Can anyone suggest a good resource specifically for Number System?

One main doubt: In the coding round, do they accept a correct brute-force solution if it passes, or are optimal solutions generally expected?
