119 Days of "Verification" – Why Is the Tulu Language Officialisation Report Still in Limbo?

It has now been 119 days since the Gayatri Committee submitted its report on the official recognition of Tulu to the Government of Karnataka. Yet, according to official RTI responses, the report remains under "preliminary verification."

At what point does "verification" become an unreasonable administrative delay?

The committee was appointed by the government, completed its work, and submitted its recommendations. However, there is still no public timeline, no Action Taken Report, and no indication of when a decision will be made.

To push for greater transparency, Taulava Gēl Inaya Koolya (TGIK) has formally taken the issue to the Karnataka Vidhana Sabha, seeking accountability and movement on a report that has already been completed.

We are not asking for another committee or another study. We are asking the government to act on the report it commissioned and to communicate its decision transparently. If the delay continues, additional lawful avenues—including further RTI proceedings and, if appropriate, judicial remedies—may be considered.

You can read our latest legislative submission and view the supporting documents here:

I'd like to hear your thoughts:

- Is keeping an expert committee report under "verification" for nearly four months reasonable?

- Should such reports be made public immediately after submission?

- What peaceful and democratic steps can citizens take to ensure greater transparency and timely decision-making on issues like this?

Last inscription of emperor immadi pulikeshi

Śabaraphadi (Sabaraphadi) Cave Inscription, Badami, Bagalkot District, Karnataka — the last known inscription associated with Pulakeshin II (Satyashraya). An undated 7th-century inscription in Early Kannada. Often discussed in connection with the final phase of his life and death.

Hope of revival of Kannada letters ಱ and ೞ

For those who don't know about ಱ and ೞ letters

These are letters which were present in Halegannada (Old Kannada) but lost in Hosagannada (New Kannada)

It is written as റ and ഴ in Malayalam, and ற and ழ in Tamil

And even after being lost these letters were taught in Kannada varnamala in schools till 1970s-1980s but after that it was never taught in schools again

But recently especially in PUCs (Pre-University college) these 2 letters were taught again to students for reading Maharabharata written in Halegannada

Due to it these 2 letters now maybe revived among new generation and I hope so soon in every schools and colleges which has Kannada language subject again teach students letter ಱ and ೞ and also include it back in Kannada varnamala

Kuladevatas in South Karnataka?

Namaskaragalu Karnataka Nivasiyaru!

I'm a guy from Maharashtra with an interest in the culture and traditions of India and wanted to ask:

What are some of the most common Kuladevata temples in South Karnataka?

By South Karnataka, I mean only the stretch of land East of the Western Ghats, South of the Tungabhadra and bounded to the south and east by lands of other languages.

I already know that most of the Kuladevatas of North Karnataka (non-coastal) are shared with Maharashtra. In fact, a friend of mine (Marathi) has her Kuladevi as Banashankari of Badami.
North Canara shares most of its culture with Coastal Maharashtra and Goa as it is a Konkani-speaking continuum (mostly!) and Tulu Nadu has their own specific folk and Vedic gods and goddesses.

But, the internet gives very vague and fuzzy answers for Kuladevatas in the South Karnataka area as I mentioned. I know for sure that Lord Martanda Bhairava is not worshipped there.

Can you guys please list out the Kuladevatas in your family or your community?

Thanks!
