I last played 2 or 3 seasons ago was either the season with the mythic items or the one after that. Had a really good win rate one trick on Kayn got to my highest rank at the time plat 2 or 3 with a 60+% win rate.

I’ve come back this season and am playing ranked again. played 5 games on him this season and lost 4 of them. Just felt so hopeless. Had one pretty good game where I went blue and got form around 8 mins but even then I felt like if we hadn’t ended as soon as we had I was getting out-scaled fast.

Rhaast was always my favourite form but it just seems like he’s a worse version of other junglers now.

I’ve pretty much completely switched over to my old second pick champ and now one trick pantheon. And I just hit plat 1 🥳

Have I just lost my touch with Kayn big time or did he get nerfed hard recently or just been powercrept.

Almost every time I try taking drake, my bot lane just keeps standing and farming, even when i spam ping. Which 9/10 causes the enemy jungler and sometimes their bot lane to come to drake while im soloing it and just kill me and take drake. While my bot lane just stands bot and farm, it doesnt matter if I've just ganked them and gotten a kill, they still just stay bot most of the time.

Any way I can change this, because I've been considering just not taking drake unless my team starts it, since I'm always giving a free kill and drake to the enemy.

how did i lose this game

So I play a lot of aatrox jg and kayn and recently saw that naayil (top aatrox player) rushes serpents fang instead of hubris on aatrox jg when there’s enough value from the item. Is this worth doing on blue kayn (or any jg that builds hubris) too if the enemy team comp permits it? I see the reasoning for rushing serpents, but is it really worth losing out on so much potential ad by not building hubris?

Most midlaners are ranged, or assasin bursty right? Lux, hwei, mel, or like talon or kassadin, rarely. on ranged people, get blue form, you can roam SUPER well right? and then you can also lane vs them well, with W if you're poked out of lane, but also have super good all in potential, no? against the occasional zed talon kass, they wanna burst you, so if zed ults you... just ult him back? then run away if you need to yeah? does this work? i got the idea from watching a YT video by TC Zwag, he played Kayn mid vs a lux, it actually seemed viable, and after more thought, it might be good? what are yall's thoughts?

I always find far more success with lethality rhaast than bruiser Rhaast. I have absolutely no clue why people still build HP on him though. Black Cleaver takes too long to stack and deals less dmg compared to Serylda. Shojin is the only other "good" HP item you can build but pales in comparison to alternatives with no hp. There's not a single HP item that is best in slot on the champion. Stop building HP items on him and you will find yourselves winning more games than usual. It will take some time to get used to the lethality red kayn playstyle but I promise you that it's worth it once you get the hang of it. It also allows you to 1 v 1 champions like yone which otherwise you'd never beat in a 1 v 1.

The veasher has a good Rhaast page. I sometimes go his build but I mostly go lethality. I believe Bastion Breaker is also an incredibly broken item on Rhaast. Axiom Arc is an Item that I do not recommend though. I'd suggest getting endless hunger in place of axiom arc 100% of the time. DD and Endless Hunger are the only good bruiser items and neither of them gives you HP. A good build would consist of full lethality with DD and Endless Hunger. You always wanna go either tabis or omnivamp boots. Never mercs and ionian boots !!!

I can't think of a single HP item besides Shojin that is actually good on Rhaast. I hope all of you start running a no HP Rhaast setup in your games so that Rhaast's WR can increase and make the balance team wonder what's happening (again). They will likely give his Q hp scalings too so that we can actually build items like sundered sky and steraks without giga trolling our games. For now all HP items are basically just bad on Rhaast and will not change in a long time!

If I'm in a game where I don't have 2 or more teammates that would heavily benefit from black cleaver application (like if I have akshan mid and jinx adc), I go lethality rhaast over bruiser, here's why:

1. you have better pick potential. Your time to kill is significantly reduced, meaning you can kill people before their team is able to show up and help.

2. your tankiness is still comparable to bruiser. With green smite + defensive boots and the fact that more damage equals more healing, you're just as tanky as bruiser rhaast in many situations so long as you aren't instantly bursted.

3. your ult actually deals damage. self explanatory here, but I just had a game where i was able to comfortably 1v1 a zaahen before he could get his stacks because my ult actually did meaningful damage rather than just being a healing tool.

4. it just feels way better. Seriously, you can actually oneshot adc's whilst also being a huge threat to tankier targets, I recommend everyone gives this build a try.

the build I go for just now is Voltaic -> Axiom/Serpents -> Seryldas/Mortal Reminder -> Situational

Hihi! I'm a Hwei main, got into the game a few months ago. I adore Kayn's character and gameplay, but I don't like the Jungle role, so I wanted to ask what is the general consensus on Kayn top? Is it viable?

He's one of the only AD champs I like too.
