Timed my AR60 to land inside Keqing's burst

This was back in 6.7 and I keep meaning to share it.

I was only 494 EXP away, and didn't want it to hit it without something special, so, I planned the whole thing:went to Liyue at night, made a team with beautiful burst characters and claimed the dailies right before hitting Keqing’s burst so the AR60 pop-up would show mid-burst.

She was my very first 5⭐, got her on her banner back in Lantern Rite 2021, and mainly used her since then.

For my surprise, with the rewards, something happened that closed the loop itself. Keqing chose me.

Teambuilding advice

I recently got keqing and I would like to use her, if I can find a good team for her. I was thinking of maybe making a quicken team but I'm not sure if I can get a team going. Also, if possible I would prefer it if it wasn't lunar-charged since I kinda have a team for that already, but if that's the only option I'll just go with that

Every single freaking enemy, even the new big bosses, get pushed back by Keqing charged attacks. Hoyo freaking hates us or what. It happened before but I don't remember it being this bad.

My clear here with my Keqing and Hu Tao team

For Keqing, I initially tried a team with Nahida, Nicole, and Fischl, but the first chamber required a lot of AoE damage, so I switched to Lunar-Charged; the second chamber was tricky due to the Electro shield, but I managed it, and the third was much easier.

Everything went quite smoothly with Hu Tao: I finished the first chamber in about 30 seconds; I was running low on time in the second, but the damage output was high enough to pull it off; and the third was also quite easy.

Post-release ramble on Keqing/Odette teams

Warning: this won't be well-thought through or eloquent. I'm posting this very late at night before I go to sleep to get thoughts out of my head. Odette feels like a unit who's made me reflect on how units exist in the game.

The one thing that was always incredibly clear was that Stellar is nothing if not Lunar V2. Accordingly Odette/Yae is a core that can be extremely directly compared to Columbina/Ineffa. The comparison isn't very favorable: Stellar literally does not work without having specifically Odette, is also very reliant on you having C1 Yae, and has no sustain if you don't bring a fourth slot healer. Also, in comparison to LC which has basically just Flins as its built-for DPS, SSC has Sandrone, Wrio, Cyno, and CMC who's literally free, all of whom are very good. The prospect of pulling new units just to get a team about as good as the one you had already doesn't seem very exciting, especially if it isn't really helping Keqing herself any more than the last one. It's also extremely depressing to see people who blindly pulled Odette for SSC and are running into the problem of "don't have Yae? suffer lol."

Yet the second I am faced with practical concerns I have to say that Odette is still a valuable unit for Keqing, because she is new. Keqing does not have a functional Stellar team without Odette. New Snezhnaya bosses (that are also soon to crowd Onslaught/Abyss) require Stellar teams to kill. Square goes in square hole. It's somehow more offensive this time then when Bina released because at least Bineffa was clearly much stronger than the other old teams. New SSC is like exactly as strong as old LC, maybe a bit better depending on your fourth slot. Keqing players who pull Odette in order to play her with Keqing are not even pulling her to improve their Keqing teams at this point, they're just pulling the mechanic-counterer to kill the mechanic-boss. (Or, hopefully instead, because they like Odette's character/find her pretty. She's beautiful btw holy shit-)

It feels really bad to say that a unit is good for Keqing when the reasoning is not that their kit is very synergistic, not even that their damage is really good and they're just OP, but because the game is going to force you to use them. It's a judgment divorced from the entire character analysis, but it has an undeniable merit. But I can't say it inspires me to keep playing the endgame with enthusiasm.

P.S. There's a million fourth slots to Keqing/Odette/Yae rn (Alyosha/Qiqi/Xilo/even fucking Sara is okay) but I recommend playing Nahida to rig the DPS split a little bit in favor of Keqing. She'll still get outdamaged by Yae but no shit welcome to Stellar. This'll also let you use 4TF which you probably want to do either just cause you like the set or cause you're tired of farming 6 different artifact sets for Keqing. ALSO the fact that Nahida is competitive in this slot despite being pretty dated as a unit genuinely gives a decent copium angle that a proper Stellar Dendro unit will actually make this team work okay. Agg miiiight be not-totally-screwed in 2027 if things go right. (I really wouldn't count on this one, but I've always been more pessimistic than most.)

Is there any world that Stellar Conduct is good right now?

Thinking about picking up Odette for some future teams but don’t have much use that I want her for now. But was wondering if I could temporarily slot her in and make Keqing so stellar conduct. Idk the stellar conduct damage formula to know if this idea is just disgusting or not 😭

I hope Keqing gets a new A1 passive in the next round of buffs

Her A1 passive should just be part of her E and let her keep her infusion. The stiletto explosion should also give infusion, I'm even okay with it being a delayed infusion just for thematic purposes (it animates the explosion being absorbed into the sword). I think it would be a great opportunity to give her a new passive but I don't think reaction buffs that makes her lean towards a certain reaction is the way to go. Her team flexibility and swapping fluidity makes her so enjoyable to main.

Maybe a passive to incentivize using the E explosion?

My off the wall idea is that the burst would summon stilettos at the 5 points of the star. You tap E and teleport to one and then hold E (like the seelies on the moon) and slash to the point youre looking at within normal stiletto range. Or you just charge attack and explode them. It would also be nice if the stiletto could just fly to whoever Keqing charge attacks and explodes on them. It sucks when they move out of it and then youre left with no blink nor infusion.

She already has a habit of finding me, she was my first main and my first 5* from the Noelle banner and I think I currently have her at c3?

Should I pull Odette or save for reruns of Natlan and/or Nod-Krai characters?

I’m trying to build a meta team rather than just investing in the older meta characters I already have.

From looking at my roster, I feel like a lot of my strongest characters are from older generations of the meta, so I’m wondering if I should start investing into the newer meta now.

Odette is currently available, and I’m considering pulling her, but I’m also thinking about saving for Natlan/Nod-Krai characters in their reruns.

My main questions are:

  • Would Odette actually improve my account significantly?
  • Is she worth pulling if I don’t already have the ideal characters for her teams?
  • Is she worth pulling at C0
  • Or would it be smarter to skip her and save for Natlan/Nod-Krai characters that could be more valuable for my account?
  • If my goal is to build the strongest possible meta teams over the next few patches, what would you do with this account?

I’ve attached my roster screenshot so you can see exactly what I have. I’m mainly looking for advice based on account value and future meta, not just whether Odette is strong individually.
