I’m seriously considering getting a Kia EV3 because on paper it looks almost perfect for what I want. Good size, decent range, nice interior, reasonable price etc.

But one thing is really making me hesitate: all the safety warnings and driver monitoring stuff.

I’ve seen videos where the car constantly nags about speed limits, driver attention, lane assist and random beeping for everything. I get why these systems exist, but I honestly think they would annoy the hell out of me in daily driving.

I know that you can turn some of them of via favorite buttons etc, but don't want to do this every single time I start the car.

Also, covering the driver attention camera feels a bit odd to have to do on a brand new car.

So for those of you who put up with these warnings, have you gotten used to them? Or are they as annoying now as they were when you first got the car?

I'm pretty sensitive to irritating sounds, especially higher pitched ones. I'm considering an EV3.

Does your EV3 make motor or inverter sounds or other irritating sounds when driving? Perhaps at higher speeds?

I've driven VW and Mercedes and they don't say anything. But the Ioniq 5 I could hear the electric engine even at medium speeds, and I know there is a common issue with the inverter giving a high pitch tune constantly at higher speeds. Same for EV3?

My alternatives are Skoda, VW, Volvo, etc.

I can’t find any posts about interior colours (in Australia). I’m looking at the Earth variant with the blue accented interior. Does anyone have that colour combined with Ivory Silver exterior? At dealerships I can only see interiors with the tangerine accent, or Ivory Silver in the GT line which has a different interior colour scheme.

Would love to see any photos and hear if you’re happy with your choice. Thanks!

I got the long range GT trim and the thing bothering me is the lack of cornering lights on the car. We don't get some of the features of the GT-S here like parking assist, 360 Camera, etc. which is ok but cornering lights during night time are so helpful here.

Don't get me wrong but I really like the car. Just this one thing from my old car I miss.

did anyone try using the KIA V2L adapter in a non-GT-Line version of the car? Does it work? Or can anyone check if the base version of the car has a corresponding menu setting regarding V2L (thus, it should work)?

New EV3, collected from dealer on Thursday. Worked fine 100% first two days of ownership and 100 odd miles.

Today, around 75% of the time you get in and it wont engage forward or reverse, just drops into neutral after a few attempts. Sometimes the red battery symbol stays lit, other times the orange key symbol stays on for a long period, other times both are shown.

Foot on brake, selecting drive and nothing at all happens.

Switch off, shut down and walk away for a minute or two sometimes fixes the issue. Sometimes it's enough to switch off, get out and immediately get back in and it works. Happens with either key.

I just cannot find a common factor; as a programmer this vexes me as I am used to using logic to figure out bugs but this seems random.

Wondered if anybody here has experienced this sort of thing before I contact the dealer on Monday.

When I swapped the original wheels to winter wheels in fall, the TPMS picked up the new wheels after driving a while. Recently, I changed back to the original wheels and the TPMS never picked them up. It displayed "Drive to Display Pressure" for a while and now it shows that there is a malfunction. I assume the sensors have lost their pairing or something. Has anyone experienced this problem?

Hello! I'm in the US and looking to get a Kia EV3 when it's released here. My wife has an Ioniq 5, and I like it aside from the size (I'm coming from a 2019 Leaf that got recalled). Any have or have driven both the EV3 and Ioniq 5 and have info on the size difference? Specifically the Ioniq feels very wide and has a large turning radius when trying to park in narrow spots, and I'm wondering if the EV3 is enough of a difference to be comfortable for me.

(I'll test drive once it's available here, but figured it couldn't to ask)

Edit: Thanks for the info, this is all super helpful! Just for reference, I'm looking for smaller. I'm not worried about it being too small. I would prefer something like the EV2, Ioniq 2, ID.polo, etc. But none of those cars are sold in the US. (I test drove the Bolt and didn't like it, I was going to get another Leaf but they keep being recalled for fire concerns. The Volvo EX30 and Mini Countryman EV don't have any physical buttons.)

For gods sake we in Turkey aren’t even in the EU. It’s the joke of this generation and yet Kia sends us the bruxelles mandated hell of constant alerts which only annoys. Literally we are suffering all the crap eu invents without ever seeing any benefit of membership 😂
Anyway, tomorrow I’m buying a black sticker to cover it forever. Did anyone else block that sensor? Does it keep beeping this time because it can’t see my spectatucar eyes?

This car is the only one that ticks all the boxes for my needs but I'm worried about the lingering ICCU issues that has plagued Kia for the past few years. Have they significantly improved or solved the problen? Does the EV3 have the same problematic architecture as the other models even though it's a 400v?

First tried a 512gb USB stick formatted with a 64gb partition - car wouldn't even see it.

Now I'm using a 64gb SD card via a SD card reader with USB C.

Car just says "no supported files" when I insert it, and "please connect the usb device containing the update software" when I press update via USB.

I freshly formatted the SD card to exFAT and let the Kia Navigation Updater software do it's thing too. I can see all the files (9ccNC_NAVI_MAP_EUR_18_47_48_420_942_0.enc, CCNC_SYSTEM_ALL_EUR_0000_00_001_002_251118_222153.enc etc.) on the root of the SD card when I plug into my PC.

The car is on, in parked mode. I've tried while AC charging and not AC charging (I think...I'm always plugged in at home :))

Any ideas reddit? Thanks.

Recently switched to S25 Ultra. I find it hard to get wireless charging working with or without case. My previous Xiaomi Mi 10 worked ok. The phone charges on my desk wireless charger plugged to my desktop pc. Anyone of you who had similar issues and found a solution?

Hi, I am planning to get an EV3 and wondering about how to lock the car when the tailgate is closed by pressing the button? Since it doesn't have the lock separate button, do I need to go to the door and lock it manually? (Without using the physical key? I have had a car before which had two buttons one for lock and another for just tailgate closing.... Asking if there would be a way to lock the car without having to press the door knob... Thanks in advance!
