Thinking of changing to an ev5. Currently have a q8 and the range isnt good. Currently get between 1.7kw/m to 2.3kw/m depending on weather/temperature and if town driving or on motorway. What are you actually getting? Dealership saying up to 329(?) miles.
I’m looking at a Wind FWD and this will be my first EV. Plan on putting in an L2 charger in garage but will want to charge when on road as well.
Understanding is the Wind only comes with the L1 adapter. So what should I be purchasing along with the vehicle to ensure I can charge at home and at various chargers when traveling?

I am planing on ordering the Kia ev5. And saw there were an option to add led lights in the trunk, as it can get dark where I live I taught it might be a good idea but I haven't seen a single video or image of how it's looks and therefor not sure if it's worth adding it anyone whom have added it and can show how it looks?
Just got my EV5 Wind Fwd in Canada last week, absolutely love it so far. I saw on YouTube videos from elsewhere that there is a pet mode for the EV5 which is not currently available in my vehicle. How long did it take in Australia and UK after launch before your vehicle got a major software update?
Was driving me crazy as I couldn't get it to work. Turns out the default setting is for it to only work if the car's charge is over 80% - and my car was on 70%. There is a setting buried in the EV charging settings (the screen with the detailed breakdown of what power your using) that you can change this limit to 20% or whatever you want. Hope this helps someone!
Been driving a SEAT Arona (Xcellence trim) for years and genuinely love it. 500+ miles on a 40L tank, plus adaptive cruise, self-parking, all the good stuff. Hard to fault it.
But my next car is going to be electric, so I started looking.
First stop was the Mercedes CLA. On paper the range looked promising (450 miles), but at 6ft I felt completely cramped, and the rear seat space was basically non-existent. It also sits really low which I just couldn’t get comfortable with. On top of that, Mercedes want you to pay extra subscriptions for things like the 360 camera. So I had to pass.
I then tried the Kia EV5 and it clicked pretty much immediately. Seating position is great, the drive is comfortable, and there’s actual space. It also looks really good which doesn’t hurt.
My hesitation: real world range is just under 250 miles. Technically workable for me, but it feels tight. All-in cost is £590/month which covers insurance and servicing, so no hidden extras - but it’s still a chunk of money for a car that’s just scraping my range minimum.
My priorities are comfort and seating position over range, I also prefer the driving experience to the brand (I would take massaging seats over the BMW logo outside for example) and the EV5 wins that easily. I can make 250 miles work, I’m just not sure I feel great about paying that much for a car where range is already a compromise.
Anyone been in a similar position? Worth it, or keep looking?

Edit 1: I forgot to mention a key point, I live in a flat so no access to home chargers - I do have a 250kW charger that would cost me 30p/kWh after 10pm so I plan to rely on it fully.
Can any tell me if Netflix, YouTube etc are available on the infotainment system on UK EV5?
Moving to Vienna this summer and trying to narrow down our family EV. Budget is roughly €30–50k. Family of 4 with two kids, occasional camping/road trips around Austria/Europe, and likely 5–8k miles/year. We’ll probably have access to charging at work but may not install home charging immediately.

Not too worried about ultimate performance. More interested in which one people actually enjoy living with long-term in Europe/Austria.
I love almost everything about the EV5 (Canada) and have also test driven the Toyota bZ, the EV3, EV9, and the Ioniq 5.
The big difference with the EV5 is it's responsiveness when accelerating, you don't get that same EV punch that you get from other models.
This is my first EV purchase, and I'm curious if people notice this in every day driving, or is that punch just something that is fun when you're test driving and not an issue that ever comes up day to day?
Want to put in an order for an EV5 but can't decide on the Iceberg Green or the Frost Blue.
Our house is split down the middle and these colours are so new you can't actually see them in person.
The pictures and videos online vary so much based on the camera, lighting, etc that it's difficult to tell, sometimes they look great and sometimes they don't.
Has anybody seen these in person?
So I have ordered my EV5 GT Line in Black, I liked the consistency between the Black paint and the piano black of the trim, I am now stressing that it’s going to show all dust, dirt, scratches and water marks has anyone got any experience?
Got the above message on my EV5 (UK and about 3 months old). When I do the software update does it wipe all settings etc or does it just work in the background? Ta....
I picked it up Friday and absolutely love this car. Then Saturday things went south. I drove it before lunch for a short trip. Came back out to run some errands and the charge had dropped from 78 to 31%, just sitting there turned off. Called the dealer and they said that’s obviously odd and to bring it in Monday as they had no techs available on the weekend.
Drove it a little bit more and it was down to 28%. Put it on my level 2 charger and set it at 80% max charge. After less than 2 hours and 11kW it said it was at 80.
I drove 30k Sunday and it was down to 68%. I decided to charge it to 100 to see if it would relearn what a full charge was. It took less than 6kW and was at 100%. The dash said that I had 195km range.
The dealer has had it since Monday at noon and they are still diagnosing it. Waiting on Kia Canada techs apparently.
Anyone else have anything like this happen? I hope it’s a software issue because I highly doubt there are many parts in Canada and I want my car! lol
20 hours and it fails. Not confidence inspiring.
I am considering to get a Kia EV5 as the next company car, because we are really forced to use EV’s. But the tricky part is that I have to drive a lot on the highway, around 2-3000 km per month.
Could you share your experiences about highway usage? With what speed and how long van you drive, and how long is the charging? On the usual ways I am going, the places have 150 kW charger, I already checked it.

Just ordered a Land FWD in Canada :) does anyone know if this trim comes with a NACS adapter and the V2L adapter already or do they need to be purchased separately? Sales Associate didn’t know much, they had only just gotten a GT Line this morning.
Has anyone actually bought one in Canada. I was supposed to pick mine up today but apparently the VIN is not in the system so they hadn’t register it with Kia finance and won’t be able to get me plates either? This is super odd to me.
Is it my car in particular? Has anyone else been able to register one? I would think so?
