I recently bought a ev5 land in Canada. And for work we didn't have a close by electrical socket so I tried using the v2l adapter. But I couldn't get it to work, but the outlet in the trunk area worked flawlessly.
My other question is if the adapter does work can you draw a full 120v 15amps from each outlet? Would be handy in a power outage to have 2 outlets.
Hey everyone, wanted to share feedback from a road trip I just completed in my EV5.
Route: Ottawa → Fredericton → Moncton → Halifax → Cape Breton Island → Ottawa
Total distance: 4,160 km
Efficiency: 19.8 kWh/100km average
Charging Infrastructure
Zero issues overall. I charged to 80% each time and stopped roughly every 250 to 300 km, since I wasn’t charging fully and kept the minimum arrival buffer at 20%. Max charging speed hit 155 kW, averaging around 90 kW. Each stop took about 20 to 25 minutes, perfect for a quick coffee break. Cost varied by provider but averaged around $0.50/kWh.
Get the CCS adapter. I originally planned to rely on Tesla Superchargers, but the very first one I tried failed. Right next to it was an Electric Circuit charger that worked great, so I used that network for the rest of the trip and never bothered looking for Tesla Superchargers again.
Efficiency Notes
At a steady 110 to 120 km/h, efficiency sat around 22 to 24 kWh/100km. In traffic or under 100 km/h, it improved noticeably to 18 to 19 kWh/100km. Wind had a real impact on efficiency too.
Navigation
Tried ABRP and wasn’t impressed, found it inaccurate. Switched to Kia’s built in route planner and was pleasantly surprised. The UI looks like it’s from the early 2000s, but the planning itself was excellent. It correctly factored in vehicle efficiency for charging stop suggestions and I used it for the entire trip.
Comfort
Great comfort for a vehicle under 50k CAD. No exhaustion after long stretches. With just two of us and one bag, we reclined the back seats and turned it into a bed for resting. Heavy winds did push the vehicle around within the lane a bit, but only in strong gusts.
Overall: Would absolutely do it again. Just plan your charging stops in advance and you’re set.

For 2 months now i have am EV5. A fantasic cat and amazing to drive.
However, since i have created accounts in the car for me and my wife the Easy Acces functionality does not work anymore. Also not when i enable them on “Long” in both accounts.
This is rather anoying since my wife is smaller and after she has driven i have to enter the car and wait 10 seconds with my legs in my neck before my settings are applied through my own account.
Anyone else experiencing this and/or has a solution?
We test drove a Land FWD and found the suspension to be a bit soft, but still comfortable. We hit some road ruts on the highway and the car really wanted to tramline/follow them.
I'm looking for feedback from owners as to whether or not this has been your experience. I've read that the tramlining might have more to do with the tire pressure being incorrectly set, rather than the suspension itself. Any thoughts?
KIA GT Line
Never purchased/financed/leased a car before. We want to finance over 84 months and pay lump sum to pay off the car next year or over next 2 years. I wanted to know what grounds i can touch on during negotiation to knock off however much off the price. Total newbie looking for advice.
Just wondering what everyone keeps in your frunk? I have put all my emergency stuff like warning triangle, hi viz vest, torch, shovel, first aid kit, wheel nut locking kit and my charging cable.

Hi everyone. I recently got a Kia EV5 (Air/light) here in Ecuador. Looking at the spec sheet for this specific trim, it doesn't have the interior V2L socket, and it doesn't clearly state if the exterior charging port has the V2L function enabled.
I've read online that the car's platform inherently supports bidirectional charging, and I might just need to buy an external V2L adapter to use the main charging port. My local dealership hasn't been able to give me a straight answer yet.
My main goal is to use the V2L feature directly for camping trips or to power my home appliances during blackouts.
Has anyone with the base trim (Air or Light) successfully used V2L just by purchasing the external adapter? Does it work plug-and-play, or is the feature strictly software-locked by Kia on these entry-level trims?
Any help or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated!

I took delivery of my Kia EV5 Land in Ontario, Canada on May 8. The next day, while the vehicle was sitting in my driveway, the battery state of charge dropped from roughly 85% to 35% over the course of about an hour.
I returned it to the dealership on May 11. The vehicle currently has only 193 km on it.
To date I do not know what exactly is wrong, how they are fixing it or when it will be completed.
What I do know is that I have been told parts or tools have been ordered specifically for my vehicle. I have called Kia canada various times and spoke with the dealership. I have been told everything from tools, battery control module, battery module, one person from Kia Canada even said 'I think its an engine'. lol
I have no confirmation as to whats been ordered.
What I do know is that my vehicle will need to be shipped to Waterloo for repair at a specialized facility when the parts show up there. The 'backordered' parts are 'estimated' to arrive in Waterloo July 20th. That will be 9 weeks after taking it to the dealership and then they STILL have to ship the vehicle away to do the repair!!
The dealer has been supportive and I am driving their loaner. Kia canada customer service however, has been unhelpful in any meaningful way.
I have filed a CAMVAP application to get my money back. The clock is now running on a CAMVAP arbitration to get my money back vs Kia fixing it and me being stuck with a car I now do not trust or want.
For those who are waiting for their ordered car, think long and hard about it and what service you will get if god forbid anything goes wrong. For those who have their car, pray it doesn't break down.
I have just received delivery of my KIA EV5 and noticed I need to apply significantly more force to close the bonnet than my previous vehicle (Ioniq 5). Has anyone else also noticed this before I go back to dealer and claim a warranty repair?
So as per the rules for driving in Europe, the lights either need to be stickered to aim a different way or on some cars, you can change the light settings. Did some research and I'm still unclear if the EV5 has the option to change this? Chat GPT claims the AIR trim does not have this feature but can't see where its got that from. Cant see anything in the manual for this either.
