Bought the Artisan Plus, but…
I really didn’t like any of the colors at all. Didn’t want to wait who knows how long until new colors came out, so I went rogue and customized her myself. Taking name suggestions. I feel like she needs a name.

Recently bought a new kitchenaid mixer and meat grinder attachment. Makes a horrible noise when I turn it on. Not sure what to do...
Mixer works normally as a stand mixer otherwise.
I’ve bought a hand mixer and am confused why one dough hook has a nobbly bit whilst the other hasn’t.
Wasn’t sure which sub to post to - newbie to this
Edit : Solved . Thank you all
Hello! I was given this by my grandfather, this belonged to my great grandmother (I have never in my life owned one, I am so excited!) I am confused about the no attachment label though, I am reading different things online. Can I or can I not use attachments with this model? Is this a good model to have? I know absolutely nothing about these mixers, I am looking forward to learning all the possibilities with it. Thank you :)
I guess I should open it up and see how the sacrificial gear is doing. Anything else?
It's a new Artisan kneading dough with the dough hook on the lowest speed. Is this sound normal? It is also noticeably warm-hot to the touch after 15 minutes of kneading
After doing maintenance on the family mixer—a K45 Grandma bought in 1978–I sourced and refurbished a Hobart K5SS for a friend of mine, and by then I really wanted one for myself so I found this K5-A from 1949 and did a full service job on it, and it’s working great!
I’ll probably touch up the paint at some point, or repaint it if that doesn’t work out.
KitchenAid paddles (https://www.kitchenaid.com/countertop-appliances/stand-mixers/accessories/p.tilt-head-flex-edge-beater.KFE5T.html ) cost $30-40, and don't appear to be better than $10-15 knock offs.
I prefer quality and generally with stick with brand names, but the price difference here is extreme and the quality difference appears to be non-existent. Is there any reason to stick with KitchenAid?
Also, some of the knock offs have scrapers on both sides. Is that better than paddles with scrapers on only one side?
Hi! I thrifted this kitchenaid and it turned on but wouldn’t spin. I opened it up and found a worn down sacrificial gear. Replaced it and it spins now but it seems like it’s making an abnormal noise. This is my first kitchenaid so not sure if that's how they sound normally. if not, any ideas on what could be causing it? Thank you!
I have matching Kitchen Aid Microwave, Stove and Dishwasher.
The microwave buttons wore off and the motor died that opens the door so it just grinds now if you hit the button.
The stove blower fan has now failed twice so it randomly errors out while warming up.
The dishwasher leaked on my brand new wood floors due a recall for bad gaskets, at least they reimbused me, but now 3 years later, the pump on the motor is dead for the spinning thing.
Now Im trying to get service on the phone and have been waiting 30 minutes.
This company makes trash, and has trash customer service. I wish I could go back and warn myself. Luckily the fridge was out of stock and we got a Samsung Bespoke instead (to match our washer and dryer which are Samsung) - Not a single issue from those.
Warning to everyone.
I didn’t see any other differences… Is there something I’m missing? I’d also rather support Costco over Walmart, but I just really wish the Costco one came in this pretty aqua color or even if either one of them was purple but 🤷 I had also looked at the Purple KitchenAid with the ceramic wildflower bowl, but that one is significantly more expensive. Is that one worth the cost difference over these two or not really?
First time it’s ever done this. I cannot get the blade piece off because the entire thing is rotating. Did something break?
Edit: I know I have to push up to get it off. It won’t budge. Both me and my boyfriend have tried to get it off with two hands and no luck, and he isn’t here to video for me so a one handed attempt is all I can film at the moment. I have never noticed it spinning when I took it off in the past, but it’s always been easy to remove so it’s possible I just never noticed.
Edit 2: Success!! Dawn flushed with hot water, a towel and hammer did the trick. Thank you again to the helpful commenters!
Hey everyone, recently inherited this gorgeous 15 year old red KitchenAid mixer from my mom who, bless her heart, was not the best at cleaning and maintaining her appliances. It was well loved and has a lot of grease and old batter residue (shown in the pictures), any advice? Really want to make it new and shining again as I'm moving out to live on my own!
That’s all. I love this thing.
A few weeks ago I was making some cookies and didn’t realize that the chunk of brown sugar was as hard as it was. Mixer got stuck and then I heard a kind of snap.
It still turns around, but stops at any kind of resistance. Even while creaming room temp butter. After some research, I’m thinking it’s the worm gear and am planning to learn how to replace that.
Any other thoughts or advice on where to look for repair instructions?
Model number is kp26m1xwh
Thank you!
ETA: I was worried that I had the older worn gear, but it seems like according to my serial number it was built in 2020, so I should be good with the available parts, right?
Also, does anyone agree that it’s probably the worn gear? Or what else could it be. Want to make sure I get all the parts I’ll need.
I'm so nervous !!! Hopefully I can use it like most of you pros here 🤞🏽
I bought an everdime from Mr mixer and when removing this screw for the first time it was pretty hard to take out. Now when I try to put the screw back in I think the threading was messed up or some shavings got lodged. I can barely screw it back in. I tried hand tightening and using a different mixer (same model) and same issue. I also tried a wire brush and no success. Has anyone had success using a rethread tool before with one of these? Or any other alternatives?
This is a tilt head artisan btw
Help! I fell in love with this walnut bowl at first sight and now it’s basically living rent-free in my head. The problem is, I already have a perfectly fine mixer at home and I just can’t bring myself to drop another $800 just to get the bowl. Does anyone know of any similar good dupes out there that would fit? I’m desperate for that wood aesthetic without the massive price tag. Thanks so much in advance!
