I have a gut feeling a kid I barely know is struggling

So I (15f) have a dad (45m) who is a basketball coach. Over the summer, the varsity team is in a summer basketball program.
So this one kid, let’s call him DB (17m), is just not acting like how I remember. He used to be really cheerful, and play really hard. Despite being a tiny guy (I’m 5,7 and I’m taller) he was really muscular and ate a lot. He was always friends with the other guys.

So a few weeks ago, the first game happened, and DB had a sprained ankle. DB had sunglasses on, and wouldn’t take them off. He was also acting kinda weird. My dad thinks he was high. DB also seems like deathly skinny. My dad later talked to one of the other guys on the team and says that DB never eats.

DB always looks on the verge of crying. He doesn’t play like how he used to. Just yesterday he let the ball get ripped out of his hands which he would never have done last year. He also happened to be wearing an undershirt even though it was really hot in the gym.

My dad thinks it’s just DB being lazy, and I saw him tell DB that he’s not going to play him until he “plays like a dog”. I don’t know. As someone who as been hospitalized for MH, I have a gut feeling something is wrong. I don’t know DB really well, but I’m scared.

What breed was my childhood dog Sid?

We knew he was part husky. Also he loved to try and herd the cows across the street lol. About 55 pounds

Lament of the Cyclical Cynic

My days are full of
Everyone
Catching a ball
Throwing a ball
Hitting a ball
And driving to the next place to do so
I’m sick of it
But I have nothing better to offer
So I can’t complain

Others retort
“It’s for your father
It’s for your brother
It’s for the team”
but what’s for me?
Realistically I could get anything I want
I suppose if I don’t
Have anything to want
I can’t complain

I’m asked a lot of questions
But I have some of my own
Where does silence become melancholy?
Where does familiarity become monotony?
At that point
It’s a quiet torture
Of surviving, not living
But the pulse is still there so
I can’t complain

My ED and IBS are making my life miserable

I 15F have been diagnosed with IBS since I was 12. It was annoying, but manageable as long as I had an Imodium. Never extremely bad even during a flare.

Then I had the stupid decision to fall into having an eating disorder atypical anorexia nervosa (I restrict and whenever I eat a normal meal I make myself throw up).

Now, any morsel of food makes my stomach hurt so bad. I get very very bloated which does absolute wonders for my body image and just pushes me to restrict more. I don’t think I’ve had a normal bm for at least a year and a half (ed got really bad about then). Normally, I have constant diarrhea. But every once in a while I get the treat of constipation where I don’t go for weeks. Laxitives don’t work. I’ve had x rays when I’ve had diarrhea and it’s not overflow diarrhea.

Also, just the fact that my stomach is so loud constantly. Hungry, loud. Had food? Loud. Tourturing me with stomach cramps? Loud.

My brother knocked down an Eastern Phoebe nest with baby birds

So for the past couple of years during breeding season eastern phoebe’s nest in under a small roof over our stoop. My brother (don’t ask how or why) knocked down the nest. The little birds didn’t appear hurt, but they did fall out of the nest. What my brother did (without consulting my bird obsessed self) was put the nest in a Tupperware, and with rubber tongs put the 3 baby birds back into the nest. He then put the nest back up into the roof. I’ve seen a ton of eastern phoebe’s around but I haven’t seen them back into the nest. Should I just leave it alone? Did my brother mess things up? Will the birds be okay?
