Minolta publishes deceptive specs on a number of their new cameras
Today Minolta is Minolta in name only (the name is simply licensed). They misrepresent their digital camera specifications to the point where I question the legality. For example the specs for MND35 specs it as a 64MP camera. Though the file is 64MP, the image sensor is only 13MP, therefore the maximum detail captured can never be greater than 13MP. The same is true for the MND70 the spec says 48MP but the sensor is only 12MP. You could in effect purchase any camera with 12-13MP and then post process your image with any free upscale tools or Adobe's Photoshop generative upscale function and achieve the same results.
I'm not saying these are bad cameras, they could be excellent cameras for what they are. Specs are never the whole story. In fact using these cameras set to their native resolution 12-13MP with image stabilization off may yield the best results. You can always upscale in post and achieve the exact same results. One other point, the effective resolution of the camera is limited by the resolving power of both the lens and the sensor. Having a high pixel count sensor behind a lower resolution lens achieves nothing and many other factors also affect image quality, dynamic range, color depth, signal to noise ratio and so on and so on.
My point is when shopping for a new camera you should compare true specifications, features vs price, and real world images before making your decision.
