Audio Recommendations??!!

Is it worth it to upgrade only the speakers or should i just refoam the oem mark levinson ones. Im pretty sure they are blown or worn out. Im not much of an audio guy but would like to have good quality speakers. Also does having Bluetooth increase the static and is there a fix to that???

First car

A co worker is selling a 2006 with sport suspension with 200k miles, timing belt water pump done 50k miles and 4 years ago, 7k on tires, newer oem struts. Minimal cosmetic damages ( a few bumper dings and paint peel , needs a driver seat cover) no rust, for 3500$. It drives great. Good for a responsible 18 year olds first car?

I just bought my first car, a 2002 LS 430 w/ 87k miles

I picked it up for $3300 by the first owner who was a grandma, she needs some basic maintenance but was this a good pickup? Its a custom luxury too 🥹

Goddamn boys.. I need yall help!!

Few days ago started up 2005 Ls43 UL after being dead over the winter. I had the pulley whining issue, so had a mobile mechanic come by to change the belt/pulleys and boost the car. He replaced the items.. but when tried boosting with a portable one, car couldnt start. Then he jumper cabled the battery and car turned on for 5 mins.. then shut off in ON ignition. Car started smoking in the rear, turns out, rear battery caught on fire. Was able to put out fire, call the fire guys get the battery removed, but most of my wiring on the passenger side are fried..

Dropped it off to mechanic, he put in a new battery and car runs fine.. windows/locks most stuff working (expect tail light on right side) but told me oem cost for wiring is like 10-12k so insurance will write it off.

Ive spent prob triple the amount fixing and repairs etc. Obviously I will try to buy back car and get whatever I can and try getting it fixed.

If yall can help me out with parts, would be amazing.

Timing belt tension?

Posted here yesterday because it was whining, so I took everything apart again and rerouted the belt. It seems like its under too much tension before I pull the pin on the tensioner? Am I good to pull the pin and send it or did I fuck up? Need advice please

How often are we doing oil changes and general maintenance?

I have a 2004 UK spec LS430 (UL without active cruise) which I bought 10 months ago. It had a full oil service before I bought it, and since then I've had the cambelt, water pump, front discs and pads and transmission oil changed, and it's about to go in for a/c maintenance (there's a slow leak in the rear a/c - the usual corroded pipes thing). I'm planning to get an annual service done in a couple of months. The car's on about 72,000 miles.

However, looking at the service schedules, it seems that there is a 6 month service regime. This seems like overkill to me. I won't have done 3,000 miles in 12 months, and I checked the oil level yesterday, and the oil was dead on the upper limit, and looked brand new. I'm in the UK, so the environment here is fairly benign.

Is anyone here doing a regular 6 month service, even if they've only done 1-2,000 miles in that period?

Looking to buy a ls430 as a first time car owner

I really like this car I’m looking at it has about 175k miles on it looks pretty clean, the only thing that was kinda sus to me was how the seller went from 6800 to 7000 after I messaged them about buying the car and I’m stuck between my family telling me it’s a bad decision, but I’m liking the car more and more I don’t know what to do, on one hand I don’t want to buy the car it need to have like more money poured into it in hindsight I’d ultimately want it as a project if it gets to that point. thoughts on the matter?

Edit: here’s the ad if you wanna take a look and let me know if it’s worth owner claims he replaced a bunch of parts

Is my timing belt too tight?

(Serpentine belt is off in the video to isolate the noise)

This is the first time I ever changed one and it's been a minute since I started the car so idk if this is a normal sound or not

Is it a good deal ?

I'm thinking about buying it, but it seems a little pricey. I'm going to check it out on Saturday. What's a good price point for this? 150,000 Miles
