The Old Oak Treant.

THE OLD OAK TREANT.

(May You Bloom series, Pt. 1)

Hi again, folks! I know it's been a while since I've posted, but I'd like to get back into the swing of things, and keep sharing some builds with y'all. This is the first post in a series of treants I've built for the #MayYouBloom challenge hosted by @bricksandfables over on Instagram. I tried to loosely base each of these treants off of a type of tree, though I'll admit that I'm certainly no dendrologist. I also did my best to give each treant a unique color scheme. This first treant is based on an old oak tree!

Though it is true that treants grow larger and stronger with age, it is also true that treants grow at different rates and paces based on their environment, just like their un-awakened counterpart. Here, we see a treant who is many centuries old, though his size wouldn't give it away. Despite his relatively small stature, this ancient and wisened plant is full of love for the forest around him and a commitment to protecting it.

Treants generally stick to the land that they know, though in times of great significance, they have been known to leave their native lands and gather with other treants to address larger issues that threaten their homes. This treant seems to be following the call of a fellow treant that beckons him out of his abode. I wonder who it could be..?

Astute Class submarine (1:200)

To go along with the Vanguard Class i posted last week, i decided to take a crack at an astute class again but at 1:~200 (20.2in/51.4cm long). There are likely better techniques i could use to bring down the price but they are for someone more talented than me.

I dont plan on doing another sub for a while, atleast at this scale, they are quite big and too expensive for my purse.

As always, instructions will be updated once the set has actually been made and tested :D I hope you all enjoy it regardless

The Bugbotti Gang - my connected insectoid robot MOCs

I've ended up making a whole bunch of tough-bot insect-based robots, and they give me the vibes of possibly being connected. I think they run the club where my insectoid robot band plays--the story is still forming : )

If you dig these, check out hundreds more robot characters and a PDF of a book I've made of them, here: http://planetrobotica.com/

My Wild American Ginseng LEGO build

Hey everyone! I wanted to share my Wild American Ginseng LEGO build.

This is a botanical-style display model based on a mature wild American ginseng plant. I tried to include the details that make the plant recognizable: the four-prong leaf canopy, five leaflets on each prong, the central berry/flower stalk, the exposed root, root neck, fibrous roots, and the small perennating bud where the next year’s plant would grow.

The build is personal to me because wild American ginseng has been part of my life for over 30 years. I grew up hunting it in the Appalachian mountains, later became a Kentucky licensed ginseng dealer, and eventually started Four Prong Herbs, a small herb business focused on wild American ginseng and the tradition around it.

Ginseng has a deep history in Appalachia. It has been harvested, traded, respected, and talked about in mountain communities for generations. To me, it represents patience, conservation, craftsmanship, and a real connection to the forest. I wanted to turn that into a LEGO model that felt different from the usual subjects but still worked as a clean display piece.

I know it is not the most obvious LEGO Ideas concept, but that is part of why I love it. It is a real native North American woodland plant with a lot of history behind it, and I think it would make a unique nature-inspired LEGO set.

Super lucky bamboo mods

I made a few additions to the lucky bamboo set I got as a gift. Had some pieces laying around to add some baby bamboo shoots and more stones for details. I got rid of the brown base and made it a"floating" vase with a lucky gold design on the underside.

What do you all think?

The Torment Nexus!

I also included some black light pictures, along with early iterations of the build.
Initially this called the Vortex, but someone said "naw, that's the Torment Nexus!" I didn't realize there was a meme behind it, but I feel that name is appropriate for this build.
