Mara X has been just cooked, out of service a long time, not sure what’s wrong… just doesn’t work anymore and isn’t that old. went to a scammy service got nowhere then … tried ordering parts to fix at home and got scammed on a site topcoffeedirect.com. Don’t use this site!! Am having Chase investigate the purchase.
Any other good sites for replacement parts? Clives tends to be out of stock a lot.
For other Mara X users, what upgrades have you made to the machine that have made a big difference in espresso/overall drink quality? Steam wand tip? shower screen? flow control?
Been using mine constantly for the past 2 years. 1-2 espressos and 1-2 milk drinks a day. I don’t change beans much.

I’ve just received my Lelit MaraX V2 and so far loving it. Just have a few questions some of you might be able to answer.
I’m a big fan of espresso but my question is which basket should I use. I typically grind 18g of beans and aim for a 1:2 ratio. Should I use the 14-18 IMS basket, or the 18-22 IMS basket?
In the future I might want to swap to a naked/bottomless portafilter, are there any recommendations?
Right now I have the timemore automatic WDT tool, which doesn’t seem to fit. It looks like this is due to the inner edges of the WDT tool not fitting on the portafilter. So basically it would not fit flush enough to trigger the WDT tool. Could swapping the portafilter help in this case?
Hopefully somebody can give me some insights and thank in advance.

I've had a look at the whole sub, sorry for another post about pressure issues, it seems a recurrent topic.
My Elizabeth v2 has been working flawlessly for a year, until I changed the "softener cartridge". I guess I haven't put it in the water long enough but now the problem persists even without cartridge plugged. So I run all my tests without the cartridge just so you know.
My Lelit is no unable to go beyond 3 bars. I did all the testing with the blind basket. I let nearly 1 liters of water run through all the system in several "shots" from 1 to 10 seconds, like if I could remove some trapped air somewhere.
The pump does a normal sound.
I opened the whole machine to check everything: no leak, no crushed pipe. I have seen a syringe technique to push the water but it didn't help. I also read here that blowing into the pipe could help too, but it didn't help too.
Has anyone had this problem before and solved it?
