Looking for a US-made (or reputable) roof light like this for the GX550

I’m trying to find a roof light setup for my GX550 that has this look, but I’d rather avoid generic AliExpress or no-name Chinese brands.

Does anyone know of a US-made or well-known manufacturer that makes something similar?

Driver side bumper popping out

Anybody else’s front bumper popping out here? It’s on my driver side. Passenger side is fine. No damage to the car at all.

$2k door ding

I’ve never messed with fixing minor blemishes but came out to a decent ding through the paint on the drivers side rear door. Quoted all around $2k to repair. I’ll be parking in the boonies from here on out.

Fuel Capacity

I just picked up my Overtrail about a week ago and have seen some disparity amongst other owners in their fuel range. I just filled up and it shows 264 miles but I’ve seen other ppl getting 320+. I’ve seen LRA’s tank but I’m not in the market for that upgrade YET. Just curious to see what you all tend to get on yours.

OT vs Premium+: Rear HVAC

Hey everyone,

I’m torn between the Overtrail (trim I prefer) and the Premium Plus (which I think is the more practical choice for my situation).

My biggest hang-up right now is the HVAC system in the rear. Have a young child and live in Atlanta. Summers are a scorcher.

For those of you daily driving an Overtrail with young kids in the back—are they staying cool enough? Is the air from the center console vents powerful enough to keep the back row comfortable in the dead of summer?

I’d love to hear if the lack of a third climate zone and ceiling vents is a non-issue, or if you’d strongly recommend sticking with the Premium Plus for the sake of the rear passengers. Appreciate any insights!

Any Hidden Interior Features?

Have a deposit on a luxury + that’s supposed to be here in a couple weeks. looked at a 25 overtrail and the interior seemed kind of bland, is there any features that are somewhat hidden from just sitting in one?

New GX550 (Caviar/Saddle Tan) — what should I do next?

Picked up my GX550 Luxury+ in Caviar over Saddle Tan, loving it so far. Already got the tints and PPF done.

Thinking about going full murdered-out — black wheels, deeper tint, maybe a lowering kit or a 2.5” lift, and an exhaust for a little more sound. I’m not really an off-road guy, more about how it looks/drives on road, so lmk if that changes what you’d do.

Thoughts on the following?

Black wheels that look good stock height or with a small lift? Or should I just powder coat them and save money? Leaning powder coat.

Lift it? Purely for looks.

Any exhausts that add some tone without being obnoxious?

Anything you did that was a must, or something you regret?

15,000 mi service

Wife took her 2025 GX 550 in for the 15,000 mi service and the dealer told her it’s just an inspection, no oil change due. Price tag, $259. I asked what they did with that “service” and they told me whatever point safety inspection and a tire rotation. LOL.

I told them we will skip that and he said Lexus can void the warranty. This seems like the biggest grift ever.

Lexus of Westport (CT) is refusing GX 550 sales to repeat customers if you live outside their specific county. Peak dealership greed.

Just wanted to put out a warning for anyone in the Northeast / Tri-State area looking to lock down a new GX 550.

I’ve been a loyal customer at Lexus of Westport in Connecticut since 2021. I bought a used IS from them, followed by a brand new 2025 IS. When I went to buy a 2026 GX 550, they completely refused the sale. The reason? I live one county over in New Haven County, and they are now enforcing a strict policy where they will only sell the GX to residents of Fairfield County.

I ended up speaking directly with the General Manager to figure out what was going on. They explicitly confirmed that this isn't due to corporate allocation rules or registration logistics, they are intentionally restricting sales because they want to hoard the future service department revenue and will only sell to people who live close enough to use their garage.

It is absolutely wild to me that a dealership would completely trash customer loyalty and refuse a third vehicle sale from a repeat buyer just to gamble on hypothetical service center margins.

Consider this a direct warning to everyone out there: no one should be giving this dealership their business, no matter where you live.

As a community, we really shouldn't stand for dealerships acting this way. When stores start pulling hyper-localized restrictions and treating repeat buyers like numbers, the only power we have as enthusiasts and consumers is to vote with our wallets. There are plenty of other dealerships out there that actually value business, skip Westport entirely and give your money to a dealer that deserves it.

Best floor mats for GX 550?

I just got my new baby a few days ago and looking to make some upgrades to all-weather floor mats. What can you recommend? Or should I just always go with WeatherTech?

Update to my rims on my 2024 GX550

Finally got around to fixing one of the things I wasn’t crazy about on my Lux+. I wasn’t a big fan of the stock rims. Specifically the color/design scheme. I just had the wheels powder coated to gloss black and the calipers painted to match the main body color. $650 powder coat job was easier on the wallet than buying new wheels. I think they look great.

When it’s time…slightly bigger AT tires. This has been off-road multiple times, but I’d like a bit more tread.

2026 GX 550

I just picked mine up last Friday. I’ve been seeing people complain that the V35A engine still has manufacturing defects. What should I expect from this year’s model? Has Lexus fixed the issue yet?

Oil Change at 1.5K Miles

Is the recommendation to get the first oil change at 1K or 1.5K miles? I have ‘26 Premium+ that’s at about 900 miles and wanted to know what the recommendation is.

For those that did this. Did you do the oil change at the dealer? Thanks!!
