Drove the 26 Is350

Today while my 2015 is350 was in for service the dealer gave me a loaner which was the 2026 is350 f sport. I just wanted to come here to see how the Lexus community feels about the new rides because I was not impressed. The handling and ride felt like a corolla. The car makes fake engine noise. The digital gauge cluster lags. The 8 speed feels weird in comparison to my buttery smooth 2015. And the front end looks like a corolla. I like the exterior styling. The headlights are cool. And the taillight design is cool. I like the 360 camera system. I just feel like Lexus is capable of doing way better. Either they need to bring the Toyota brand back down a notch or elevate their Luxury brand. Honestly I was happy to get my 15 is350 back. I’m not coming here to hate. My family owns 3 Lexus vehicles and we love the brand Toyota. Also, not knocking anyone who has one of the new gen’s. Congratulations. This is just my thoughts. What are you guys thoughts?

2014–2016 Lexus IS Headlights Have a Serious Design Flaw

My driver-side headlight on my 2015 Lexus IS has been out for about a year now, and trying to find a genuine OEM replacement for a reasonable price has been a nightmare. What frustrates me the most is that I’ve seen multiple people — even here on Reddit — report the exact same issue on the 2014–2016 IS LED headlights: flickering/flashing lights that eventually stop working completely. At this point, it honestly feels like there’s a design flaw with these headlights, and it should be considered a safety issue. Driving at night with only one functioning headlight is not safe.

I seriously can’t believe Lexus never issued a recall for this. I’m at the point where I either walk into a dealership and make a scene about it, or just give up and buy aftermarket headlights.

Has anyone here gone the aftermarket route? If so, how have they held up long term?

I’ve already removed my bumper FOUR different times trying used headlights, and I recently got scammed on eBay by a seller advertising a headlight as OEM when it turned out to be aftermarket. I only realized at night because the light output and bulb color were noticeably different.

Another thing that makes no sense to me is that you can’t simply replace the bulb. I already tried looking into replacing modules, but for my specific headlight model Lexus apparently doesn’t sell the modules separately — you have to replace the entire headlight assembly. That’s insane considering these headlights don’t even have advanced features like AFS/adaptive lighting.

What really blows my mind is that a 10–11 year old OEM headlight still costs over $1,000 — basically the same price as newer-generation Lexus headlights with way more technology. Meanwhile, used headlights are still going for $500+, which I refuse to pay for something that could fail again.

I’ve already checked local junkyards too, but most IS models that end up there have front-end damage, so the headlights are usually destroyed.

If anyone has gone through this and has advice, recommendations, or good aftermarket experiences, I’d really appreciate it.

Fair price or negotiate

Was looking for a Lexus is350 and came across this 2023 with 23,810 miles on it for $46,378 but after other fees it would probably be more like around $48k

I love the color and it comes with Handling package, Memory package, Navigation package w/Mark Levinson audio and triple beam headlights.

It’s coming from a Lexus dealer so it comes with the L/Certification

It’s a 72 month loan with 5.25% apr but again not sure if that price is worth all that.

Should I try to negotiate with them and try to get the price lowered maybe to like 46k OTD or is even that too high of a price.

Opinions on this PPF

I just picked my car up from full frontal PPF and paint touch up/sanding a rock chip. I’m highkey disappointed with the job they did and curious on what you all think. There is dirt under multiple panels, uneven panels, and they didn’t touch up anything 🙃 they’re also on the higher end of pricing and I trusted them to do a good job since they have amazing reviews.

I told the worker that did the walk through with me that I’m disappointed and it looked like a rushed job. He called the manager and they offered to redo some panels and touch the paint up (free of charge now). I would have to drop the car off for 4 days this time (they had it for 2 days) which is super inconvenient for me since I’d have to uber everywhere during that time.

Lexus IS300 Replacement

My 2016 Lexus IS300’s life ended abruptly recently and am looking for a replacement.

I bought the car 7 years ago and my needs have not changed much. I still need a small car for city life, AWD for winters, reliable, and something that I actually enjoy driving now and many years to come.

I have decided to use this opportunity to upgrade to an F Sport model and have a good chunk to put down from insurance proceeds.

I am seeing a 2019 with 40k miles and a 2022 with 75k miles both around $35k in my area.

Question:

  1. Are these in the ball park? Mine did not depreciate a ton in the time I owned it so I’m not THAT surprised but that’s not a very big discount compared to other similar used cars.

  2. Does anyone have a preference between the 3is and 4is? I actually prefer the rear of the 3is, but front of the 4is. Both will be an upgrade from my 2016.

Is It A Red Flag For A 2018 IS 300 To Be On Sale For A Long Time?

I'm shopping for an IS 300, and saw a 2018 model year priced pretty aggressively around $18000. The vehicle only has around 70,000 miles and it has no accidents according to the VIN reports I've seen.

The only cosmetic thing I see wrong is very minor interior scuffing. The VIN information did have some minor reported cosmetic damage, but nothing I could notice from photos alone.

Apart from that, the other red flag I see is that the dealership has had the car since late January, and acquired it from another dealership that had it listed for at least 3 months before that too.

I guess my question is: how common is it for a car like this to be sitting for so long? I like the car, and am planning to test drive it this upcoming weekend. Is there anything I should specifically look out for, or ask the dealer?

I'd really appreciate any help since I really wanna get into this car as it seems great.

boost leak after installing charge pipe?

I just installed an HPS charge pipe to my 2016 IS 200t so I can go stage 2 with D3 Performance but after installing my turbo stopped spooling, it would go only as high as 4 psi, like a limp mode, then a code came on for P25B3. I disassembled and reassembled 3-4 times until the turbo finally began to spool but now under high boost I get this loud whine that wasn’t there before. All couplers are secure and clamps tight so I don’t know if this is normal or maybe an effect from stage 2? If anyone has had a similar problem or may know the cause I’d really appreciate the help.

Here’s the link to the video of the sound I’m referring to:

Lexus is250 cup holder/keys

I have locked myself out of my car multiple times because I leave my key fob in the cup holder I’ll locked the door and I hear it lock but the car doesn’t detect the keys are still inside. Is there anything I can do to prevent from this happening again? Any feedback or tips would be appreciated.

is this sound ok?

Recently purchased a 2014 Lexus IS250 RWD with 68k miles.

video link

I’m not sure whether some of the sounds I’m hearing are normal or not, since I’ve only owned hybrids before and don’t really have much experience with gasoline cars beyond basic maintenance and mandatory services.

Is there anything specific I should pay extra attention to with this model? Any common issues, maintenance items, or areas I should take care of early on?

Thanks in advance

21 or newer?

I’ve a ‘17 IS and I’m thinking about trading it in for a newer one with CarPlay which means ‘21 or newer. But if I remember correctly, sometime after ‘21, Lexus decided to make some of the features subscription based, I just don’t remember from what year. If you’ve a ‘22 or newer IS, can you share what feature is not fully available without subscription?

Opinions Buy or Bye ?

Hello everyone, I’m back again looking for opinions on another IS350.

This one is a 2023 Lexus IS350 F Sport AWD in Caviar Black with black interior, about 34k miles and a clean one owner CARFAX. It’s at a dealer in CT and they’re asking $47,985 plus a $699 conveyance fee.

Personally, this price feels insane for a used IS350. The car does look extremely clean and it has basically every package I want but I still can’t justify almost $50k for a used IS350.

I called the dealer today to ask if they were open to negotiating at all. They pretty much shut it down immediately and said the owner “knows the market” and prices aggressively to sell. The only discount they mentioned was maybe $500 off if I finance through them.

I mentioned there are similar 2023 IS350s around me in the low $40k range with comparable mileage and maybe just missing one package but they still wouldn’t budge.

So now I’m curious what everyone here thinks. Would any of you actually pay close to $50k for a 2023 IS350 AWD, even if it’s fully loaded? Or am I right for thinking this dealer is out of their mind?
