Lipomas suddenly shrank

I didn’t know this area of Reddit existed before today. Yesterday, getting ready to go to a pool party for July 4, I’m dressed and observing my body before we head out. I was shocked to discover that my lipomas seem to have shrank and I’m now trying to understand why. I have some ideas and now I’m going to monitor and test what I think it is. Some back ground first:
I developed these lipomas 15 years ago, and some still pop up but not many. The largest is on my sternum, 2 others near there that aren’t quite as visible but I notice them. Another large one on my upper thigh, upper quadriceps. I went to the dermatologist two years ago to see about removing them but she said they were too large for her to do. Since they were not painful and the existing ones weren’t growing, she referred me to a surgeon as it was cosmetic and not covered by insurance. I stopped there. I’m not overweight, in good shape. My weight has fluctuated over the last year anywhere from 188 up to 204. The lipomas never change in size or visibility.
Fast forward to recent months. I’ve been on testosterone since last August. My weight has been stable at 190 lbs (I’m male 6’1”) for 5 months. I’ve been trying to lose a few extra stubborn lbs, so my TRT doc recommended a mild fat burner shot called “MICC.” I’ve been on it for approximately 6 weeks.
Simultaneously I’ve been using my wife’s red light panel, but primarily for workout recovery. None of these treatments were directed towards the lipomas. But without a doubt, I think they’ve all shrank by approximately 25%. I’m scratching my head about how this is possible. AI is saying it’s the red light therapy, but I suspect it’s the combination of RLT and the MICC shot.
I’m here for two reasons. To see if anybody else has experienced shrinkage, related to RLT and or MICC shot. And second, to share that I’m going to monitor the situation now, advise the TRT of my observations and to make the RLT sessions more regular and targeting the lipomas.

Advice on removing 35+ lipomas

I (25M) have over 35 lipomas around my body. Primarily in my abdomen, flanks, and hips, but several are scattered around my legs, arms, and back as well. Size ranging in the diameter of a golf ball to 1 cm, and are very painful, especially after exercise. I’m looking for the least invasive way with minimal scarring to start the process of getting them removed. I have heard of liposuction as an option but curious if anyone has had any similar experiences, or if you have a recommendations from personal experience.

Help! Is this a lipoma? I’ve been told it was and then been told it was just an overworked muscle or an enlarged muscle. It gives me headaches and when I lay my head down the room starts spinning at times. No health insurance at the moment so advice would be appreciated.

It is in the left side of this photo right under my hairline. And I believe I might have another knot on the other side of my head same place. Most pictures I e looked at have round knots for lipomas but this one is long it goes back through my scalp. Is this still a lipoma? Most pictures they are shaped in a circle and this knot is not this picture is the front of it as it goes back under my hair. Lipoma or something else does anyone have an idea?

Lipoma removal

I had a lipoma removed 6 days ago - it was located in the crease between my buttock and back of thigh. They used dissolvable stitches. Photo is from 6 days post op. It still bulges out quite a bit, maybe an inch or so. Will this flatten out over time? We had it removed mostly for cosmetic reasons as it was right on the underwear line and looked obnoxious and I was self conscious about an upcoming beach vacation but this is arguably worse? I’ve never had stitches before so not sure what to expect. I have a follow up appointment next week.

Post 1 Year Lipoma excision

Hi everyone, I just wanted to make this post to give some people hope if they’re currently dealing with I had been dealing with and kinda feel down. I’m in my early 20s and last year I was very depressed because I had over 20 painful lipomas all over my body. I chose to have them all surgically removed. This year you can barely see some of my scars, others are still slightly red. Life after lipomas is possible and there’s an easy solution for them. I also used biocorneum silicone gel and silicon bandaids from Amazon to help with scar healing. I had them removed with a plastic surgeon in LA, and I would recommend choosing plastic surgeons because they care most about scar healing❤️‍🩹

nervous about nerves - two upper arm underside lipomas

i’ve had lipomas removed before, but these are a bit larger and mildly irritating. i’m worried about chances of nerve complications etc as i am a musician. i just had a doctor’s visit, but they basically showed no interest besides telling me i’d be sent to a different location for removal, she maybe actually examined them for 5 seconds and was very much “anything else” in out etc.

last removal was 7 years ago, i was prob as worried then. lol

any reassurance?

11 lipomas removed

Had nine lipomas removed from my right arm and one from my left elbow and a big 6 cm one on my upper thigh.

Surgery wasn’t too bad and feel okay with recovery coming up to 5 days post op.

Had a cluster of lipoma surface on my right arm in the past 12 months and how about another 10 to 15 small ones still to be removed. Interesting my surgeon only wanted to do a section at a time because of how many I had not sure if this is a norm or anyone’s had more than 10 removed ever one time?

Lipoma surgery done 👍🏼

Just wanted to share some good news. I recently had 24 lipomas removed, and I’m feeling incredibly relieved and relaxed. The surgery went very smoothly, and the overall experience was much better than I expected.
I’m still recovering, but everything seems to be going well so far. Once my stitches are removed, I’ll make another post with post-op pictures, healing updates, and details about the doctor and the procedure in case it helps others who are considering lipoma removal.
For anyone feeling anxious about surgery, my experience has been very positive so far. Thanks to everyone in this community who shared their experiences and advice.

Will the NHS remove this small lipoma?

Hi, UK here. This is a lipoma that sits right on top of my head. It's actually bigger than it looks (sorry I'm not good with pictures). It's about 3 cm in diameter. It's very slowly getting bigger and now that I am getting balder, it's becoming really annoying. I even get remarks at job interviews.

I've always though that the NHS would not bother with small lipomas, but yesterday I met a guy who said he had it done for free via the NHS and it wasn't much bigger than mine.

Is that possible? Or was the talking rubbish? I'm resigned to have it done privately but I see quotes starting from £1000 upwards.

How much you've paid for your lipoma removal?

Hi guys, I got offered to remove a few lipoma here in HK for 5000 USD plus so wanted to know how much you've paid for your own surgery.

Would love if you can tell us:

- In which country/city you had surgery

- How many lipomas you removed and where on your body

- How much you paid for that

GLP-1 Usage

Has anyone with multiple lipomas (>50) tried one of the many GLP-1 drugs, and if so, was there any effect on your lipomas?

Can lipomas be prevented?

Lipomas run in my family. My uncle’s arms are covered with them and it horrifies me, and my mom has them on her thighs. It’s clearly genetic and I’m scared of getting them. Are there any preventative measures I can take to avoid getting them?

My uncle has a pretty poor diet - he isn’t fat per se but eats mostly simple carbs and sugar, and I wonder if that could be a contributing factor?

am i delusional or do i just need to advocate for myself harder

okay so ive had this weird lump on my back- lower right side near the superior iliac crest area. It moves around when I apply pressure to it. It literally feels like a little rubbery lump that slides around when i touch it. I read about back mice or episacral lipomas which align with my back pain symptoms. throbbing, aching, burning sensation. irritated when i sit too long or bend over repeatedly (like picking stuff off the floor). Ive had an xray and mri or lumbar spine with contrast and both came back unremarkable. Ortho dr thinks its just inflammation. Im frustrated and feel like im going insane because I can feel it. Then of course I read in an article that these particular lipomas can be unencapsulated and blend in with surrounding fat so they dont always show in mri. i assume ultrasound is my next best thing, but need to know if anyone had has a similar situation so i dont feel nuts. TIA

Lipoma or ganglion cyst

Texture is like cyst that's about to pop sort of ig like bouyamt or jelly and it hurts when I apply too much pressure. I developed lots of bone cysts since age 12 so this isn't a surprise for me and I've had this for a few months now. It's also a lot huger in person and I can usually sort of bunch up the tissue of it together when I push it to the rest of the mass.
