I'm currently titrating lithium, but I couldn't tolerate 900 mg, so I think I'll have to lower it to 600 mg (which gives me a serum lithium level of 0.46 in my case).
I'd like to know if anyone here takes a low dose like this, or even lower, like 300 mg, and is able to stay stable.
Is Lithium weight-neutral? I’m 5 11” and 95 kg. Can I reduce 15 kg through exercise and diet control while on Lithium 900 mg? Is it possible?
Just to preface…lithium has been fantastic for my depression with basically zero side effects. I have MDD so it’s just to augment my lexapro. It lifted my depression in 10 days. Very happy with that.
However I cant stop over analyzing my hair in fear that I’m going to thin out. My hair is a huge part of my identity, it’s one of my favourite things about me and it’s not particularly thick to begin with so I’m freaking out that I’m going to lose a bunch of it after reading about the common hair loss side effect.
I’m only on 150, and I imagine I probably will go to 300 one day but not much beyond that. But I’m not sure dose matters that much.
Maybe some women on here can calm my fears? Or if you did experience hair loss, maybe you could tell me the signs to watch for? Honestly if I do start to lose a fair bit of hair, I’d rather try a different med. That’s how ridiculously attached I am to my hair 🤦🏼♀️
Hi guys, I’ve been taking lithium for four years and have always experienced increased thirst. The thirst and peeing is getting worse (in 24 hours I drank 6L and peed out 8L) so my nephrologist (I have kidney disease from the lithium) has decided I need to do a water deprivation test to investigate. Has anyone else been diagnosed with diabetes insipidus? What treatment did they use?
Also has anyone done a water deprivation test and do you have any tips for getting through it? It sounds like hell
