Anyone around Reading with a 40-minute 5K time preparing for the London Winter 10K? 🏃🏽‍♀️What are some nice paths around central Reading? I can’t run after work.

I’m relatively new to running and have never run through autumn or winter in the UK, so I’d love some advice on what running clothes to buy and which brands you’d recommend to stay warm and comfortable on runs.

I’m not originally from the UK, so these chilly morning runs are taking some getting used to! 😅 Any tips or recommendations would be much appreciated.

Hey everyone!

Just wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation or might have some advice.

My friend and I were hoping to run the Manchester Marathon together in 2027, but because we were applying to universities in the UK, we weren't sure what our plans would look like and missed the chance to enter.

2027 might also be our last chance to do something like this together before life takes us in different directions, so we're really hoping there's still a way to make it happen.

We've looked into charity places and tour packages, but unfortunately, those aren't financially realistic options for us at the moment.

I was wondering if anyone knows whether places ever become available through cancellations, withdrawals, waiting lists, or any other official route? Has anyone actually managed to secure a place after general entries sold out?

Not looking to do anything outside the official rules - just hoping there's another option we might have missed!

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who's been through this or has any advice.

Hi I'm looking to find out how those who live in the south west suburbs of London city eg. Teddington, Kingston upon Thames make their way to London city to the start line of the marathon which is quiet an exceptional distance away. I know public transport will be jammed if not closed at certain points and so do people avail of private transfers etc?? Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated

This has started happening a lot more now. Cyclists get so little space on the road, but then to be faced with a jogger taking up that space, usually with headphones in so wistfully unaware of their surroundings. This also extends to joggers running on the road. It’s just not safe and pretty annoying.

Today cycling over London Bridge during rush hour, a jogger is taking up the entire cycle lane. I asked him calmly to join the pavement to which he responds “oh go away you disgusting wh***”. Nice.

I am now moving abroad so I am selling my hackney half 2027 bib, looking for FV have all confirmations.
