Hello! I am a high school student. I was wondering what computer to purchase once I transition to college. I will be majoring in Management at American River College.

I’ve noticed several places on the ARC campus that, very obviously, have used AI in flyers and posters. They even have AI art on the fucking Beaver Bites email newsletter. I feel that this is not ethical, at all. But by using AI, ARC is essentially greenlighting the theft of artist and creator’s intellectual property to make cheap, BS “art.” How can they be okay with supporting AI knowing they train their models on, likely, their own alumni’s work.

ALSO WHY CANT THE PEOPLE AT THE DISTRICT USE THEIR HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS A YEAR SALARY TO…I DONT KNOW… PAY THEIR OWN FUCKING STUDENTS TO MAKE THIS ART!!!!

I just can’t believe that a school that offers art degrees thinks that this is an okay practice. Unless someone has a legitimately good argument as to how/why they do this, I don’t see how this is right.

I have no problem with not using AI in my school work. I can’t learn without my own critical thinking skills. But it’s outrageous that people can be expelled for cheating on assignments with AI, but the people in charge use AI art on campus.

P.S. THE AI VERSION OF THE BEAVER MASCOT IS UGLY AS SHIT

Is everyone experiencing e-services down again, or is it just me?

I just received a call from (646) 679-4937 the man said he was a BankMobile representative and was calling me regarding something with account. when he said he needed my account info i asked in regards to what. he kept stuttering and couldn’t answer the question and finally said my deposit i got. i hung up felt like it was a scam, anyone else received a call like that?

Anyone else get a message about this in Eservices? I did not even know I was getting another payment but now I have to wait for a paper check 🥲
