Dropped from Chem 400 ARC (HELP)

Hi all,

I randomly got dropped from Chem 400, I was supposed to take the Chem pre req test next Monday.

My professor Payne said I must take it before the second day of classes and I should be good.

He sent out an email yesterday saying that the professor got changed to another professor due to unforeseen circumstances.

I’m not sure what to do. I need this class to be able to transfer

UPDATE: emailed the professor who said I was still enrolled just that he deleted the canvas class till he could give access to the other professor. Thanks for the help guys

FA with classes at sister schools

Hey friends, it’s my first year and I’m wondering when or if I’ll receive financial aid if my “home” school is CRC but I have classes at SCC? I’ve gotten my award letter but it’s a lot lower than I expected but realized that 3 of my classes are at CRC and I chose the other 3 at SCC.. please let me know and ease my mind 😭 I don’t want to drop any classes but I will if it isn’t covered / if I don’t receive FA. Thank you all!

Cal Grant, SSCG, and CRC

I’m in my 2nd year at CRC and I think this is the first year I qualify for Cal Grant B, which also qualifies me for the Student Success Grant.

I’m asking students here because I’m tired of dealing with the FA office constantly providing me with inconsistent information and misinformation.

I know the deadline for them to submit my GPA and unit qualifications is September 2nd, then the SSCG is calculated. Everywhere I look tells me there’s nothing for me to do, the school automatically does it.

What has been your experience with this particular funding situation positive or negative? I do not like waiting around for others to do things, especially when it comes to money.

FREE/LOW COST Dental Cleanings for Los Rios Students/Staff!

Hey y’all! Fall semester is quickly approaching, so I wanted to let everyone know that Sacramento City College offers FREE dental care for all Los Rios students/staff, seniors 65+, and veterans!

The clinic is open to the public as well (all ages!), for $25 initial, and $10 follow ups if needed. No insurance required.

Availability is Mondays & Wednesdays.

Appointments are 2-3 hours and patients must be able to stay for the entire appointment:
• 8:30–11:30 AM
• 1:00–4:00 PM

Because this is a school clinic, appointments are longer than a typical dental visit. Services may include cleanings, X-rays, fluoride treatment, and other preventive care depending on your needs.

If you or anyone you know is interested or have questions, please message me regarding scheduling! I’d really appreciate your help! 🫶

Seeking Los Rios UTP Pass

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone would be willing to lend me their Los Rios student bus pass for this semester. I’d be more than happy to pay for it! I enrolled in my classes a little too late and, unfortunately, I’m still waitlisted. At this point, I’m not sure I’ll end up getting into a class. 😭 If anyone has a pass they’re willing to lend, please let me know! I’d really appreciate it! ♡

Question on Asynchronous course

Hi everyone, this is my first year at any college after a 2 year gap from HS and I'm really lost on what to do - I have 12 units of in person classes & online classes + a part time job.

One of my online classes (ART 300) was posted as asynchronous which is why I enrolled in it with the help of a success coach, but the professor's syllabus (that I just looked at today) states its actually a synchronous class which completely clashes with my already made schedule
I don't want to drop the class because I'm scared it'll affect my FASFA (I need 12 units to be a full time student)

I dont know what to do or what resource to use so Im hoping I can get some help here, thank you to anyone who can help me

Cal grant

Anyone able to give any info on how the cal grant works, or your experience? I graduated 2018 but only recently started school in January. This will be my 3rd semester, & I’ve only recently hear about cal grant a few weeks ago, online at web grants for students it says they don’t know my eligibility because the school hasn’t submitted my gpa & school says they don’t do that until September. I dont know, my sai is -1500 so I feel like o should get it? But nobody at the school has been helpful, just saying wait & if you qualify you’ll get it ?

Promise grant payed for and taken away?

Did anyone get their classes paid for during the summer by the promise grant , then taken away as the fall semester started ? I think it may be because it wasn’t 12 units but I might be wrong. Did this happen to anyone else ? Thanks in advance 🫡

FA question

I submitted my fafsa back in march and had a message in my tasks a few weeks ago about not meeting criteria due to not being enrolled in classes. After fighting the awful ui I enrolled in 9 units should I reach out to the FA office or should it just automatically update before semester starts?
