Comprehensive Response to Bambu's AGPLv3 Violations (article)
Multi-pronged Approach Will Help Users Quickly while Seeking Optimal Long-Term Solutions
"Software Freedom Conservancy (“SFC”) announces a new initiative regarding the software right to repair for users and consumers of 3D printers manufactured by Bambu Lab. After recent news of violations of the Affero General Public License, version 3 (“AGPLv3”), SFC staff began a comprehensive AGPLv3 compliance investigation of both the userspace software and firmware on Bambu's devices. While the investigation is ongoing, two specific AGPLv3 violations have been confirmed."

youtu.beBambu Lab made me return a defective A1 (Fire Hazard) but they DON'T EVEN HAVE replacements in stock! Over a month of downtime.
My A1 suffered a critical motherboard failure (melting/burning smell). After weeks of stalling, support made me return it. It arrived at their German warehouse on May 8th. Today they broke their own 7-business-day SLA only to tell me: "We don't have any new printers in stock, wait until next week". Stuck without a machine for over a month for a fault that is 100% theirs.
Hi everyone,
I'm posting this here because I am absolutely furious and I need to warn the community about how Bambu Lab is handling serious RMAs.
Here is the timeline of this logistical disaster:
The Incident: My A1 experienced a critical hardware failure. The motherboard components melted with a strong chemical burning smell. A literal fire hazard.
The Warranty "Favor": Support admitted the fault. They initially offered me a new motherboard and 2 spools of PLA if I repaired this dangerous machine myself. I requested a safe, full replacement unit. They treated this as a "special favor" and retracted the offer for the 2 PLA spools.
The Return: I shipped the defective unit back. According to tracking, it was delivered to their German warehouse on Friday, May 8th.
The Ghosting & Broken SLA: Bambu’s policy states inspections take up to 7 business days. Today, May 20th, the deadline expired. When I pushed for updates, they escaleted the ticket to a "specialist team" and dropped a bomb: they don't even have replacement units available in the warehouse right now.
They literally made me ship my printer back knowing they couldn't replace it immediately, forcing me into indefinite downtime (it has already been over a month total).
I have just sent them a final notice: if I don't get a valid tracking number or a full refund within 24 hours, I am initiating a formal chargeback with my bank and filing a report to the European safety authorities (RAPEX).
Is it normal for a company of this size to accept returns without having replacement stock ready? Has anyone else been lied to like this?

This has to be one of the most “you own nothing” EULAs I’ve ever seen.
Just a few highlights from what people gathered from Kraftons EULA:
- You’re not allowed to tarnish Krafton’s public image
- You’re not allowed to use a VPN while playing
- You’re not allowed to go against “social norms”
- You’re not allowed to sue them
- Any related art you make becomes Krafton’s property
- You waive your right to a judge and jury
Straight opinion from our lawyers: this is not binding in the EU and may even nullify the entire contract, if it is going at the basic nature of the usage.
Did someone ask ChatGPT again how to tank this game?
We are looking through is in detail with folks from the European Parliament right now and will get back to you with some more info soon.

Warning: Don’t Buy Movies on YT
A couple of years ago I bought some movies in HD on Google Play Movies. Now that it's gone, for no reason at all, the movies were moved over to YouTube. So far so good. However, don't believe to he able watching any movie you bought in just an acceptable quality, because someone over there thought it was a good idea to cap it at 480p.
This is a fair warning. Do not buy any movie on YouTube. It's a waste of your money, because you will never get it in HD or 4k, even if it's advertised as such.
In my opinion, this is fraud and deception and should be punished harshly. Don't give them your money as you won't get what you paid for.
