This old tunnel is used as a shortcut in Chongqing, China, to avoid the mountainous roads

This tunnel in Chongqing is about 1,250 meters (roughly 0.78 miles) long.

It was hand-carved through the mountains as a narrow shortcut (under 3m wide in spots), saving drivers the winding mountain roads.
