Sadly I can’t sleep but now it got me thinking. I’ve moved to the Netherlands not long ago, what are some things other immigrants (here to stay) were mind blown by?

Like I know about the bike culture, snack culture, the circle birthdays, trains, the boy hairstyle, races, all the basic stuff you read everywhere online but what are some things I wouldn’t expect to be super Dutch that will maybe still be coming my way?

Rookverbod, longkanker, mee roken, asociaal

Drank, verkeersveiligheid, poging tot doodslag, alcohol

What are the chances of a non eu student studying in the Netherlands for their bachelors to later on obtain dutch citizenship?

Specifically the path being:

Bachelors 3 years

Masters 1 year

A job for 1-2 years (I understand its difficult to get sponsored for the Skilled Migrant Visa)

Applying at the 5 year mark.

And i am fluent in dutch to a c1 level.

Please do let me know if this is a realistic path for me to consider and follow as I am about to start my bachelors soon. All advice is appreciated.

Hello, I've been learning dutch for quite a while, but I still have trouble in pronuntiation. I've also heard that some people neutralize the pairs v-f and z-s to just f-s, or that in some words, vijf and zes being the most recognizable, are pronounced like fijf and ses.

So my question is, how important it is to distinguish the pairs? And which dialects distinguish them?

(for context, I'm more interested in the western flemish dialects, since that's where I'll be traveling more)
