The Five Families that built Brooklyn Heights

I recently led a Jane’s Walk around Brooklyn Heights talking about the families that shaped the neighborhood. I figured this community would enjoy learning about them, too :)

Gelato shop across from Nightingale-Bamford School

Hello New Yorkers! I’m blanking on something, and I need help remembering. Does anyone remember the name of the gelato shop across from Nightingale Bamford School in NYC? I believe it was by the corner of Madison and 92nd, and I remember it having a light blue logo - maybe the name started with a G or B?

Queens NYC 1940s | The Story They Never Told You

I made this video about Queens in the 1940s — the jazz musicians, the department stores, the streets. Would love to know if anyone has memories of this era. Video uses real archival photos from the NYC Municipal Archives and Library of Congress, with some AI animated sequences to bring the era to life. All historical facts are sourced and accurate.” https://youtube.com/@throughtimeamerica?si=dpWkDgYFgahqATAK

Beautiful Times Square painting- 1960’s?

This was on the wall at an estate sale today in Los Angeles. $300. A little out of my price range, but a photo is almost just as good.

Crown Victoria NYC Taxi spotted in the wild in downtown Brooklyn May 2, 2026!!!

I was walking near borough hall for dinner on May 2nd and stopped dead in my tracks to snap this. I told the lady I was with just how rare this was lol. I felt so autistic explaining the gravity of this to her.
