Something you didn't like about HIMYM?

Soo, if I ask you something like, what you didn't like in HIMYM what would your answer be??

Raising the bar for the 'mother' so high and still cracking it perfectly only to shit the bed again? Or totally ruining barney and robin setup that took seasons to set? Or lily being a total hypocrite? Or is it something else?

What are your views?? I just want something fun to read😅

I hate Lili

I believe Lili is one of the character I hate the most because she does things and don't apologise for it and when someone else does the same thing she expects them to apologise she takes action without the care of others (eg taking away stuff from Ted's boss without giving it a thought about his job, pilling up huge credit card loans just because she can't control herself and biggest thing of all leaving Marshall.) does anyone else feel the same way this is my subjective opinion.

What makes this show good?

I'm not trying to ragebait here or anything, but I'm currently at season 6 of the show, and for now, I can't see any good thing in the show... let me explain

-I found that very few characters are likeable/well written (maybe marshall and Barney, and a few appearances like Barney's brother are good characters) for exemple, I find that lily is not a good character (for instance, during the museum episode, she doesn't like the corporate man that marshall became but she's the one that brought this huge debt to the couple)

-The jokes are bad, with a few exceptions of course, there are a couple of laughs here and there, but generally, the running jokes are not really good (for exemple jokes on the Canadians) and well as I said, the only funny characters are marshall and Barney

I don't want to keep butchering the show you guys love so I'm just gonna finish on this, the last part I don't like is just the main character, I mean, ted is well... ted

But I do understand why people could get attached, so I'm really not here to troll or ragebait, I want to understand

Fan Questions For Charlene Amoia (Wendy The Waitress)

Hi everyone! I'll have Charlene Amoia, who played Wendy the Waitress, on my show Back to Broadcast on May 21st. I would love to ask her any fan questions you have, so feel free to drop them here! If the mods are okay with, I can also post the full episode once it's up :)

Ear worm

Alright himym fans

Which song from the show lives rent free in your head?

I mean that one song where you sing it to yourself out of nowhere?

Mine is nothing suits you like a suit

Why is this subreddit?

There is already a himym subreddit with significantly more members, and i've even seen reposting for that subreddit on here. I understand that this one was created first, but it was only by a few months and that was over 15 years ago now. So why exactly do we have two? Genuinely just curious.

Anyone a little too into the show?

Greetings!
New to this community, but was wondering...

As the (borderline clickbait) title suggest...
Has anyone watched the show, season by season, day after day, multiple times to the point where you have to make a reddit post to have a reality check?

I have watched this show (without question) a minimum of 30 times that I've counted. It's not continued, but I feel crazy for being so "into" a show its almost concerning. I find solace in the show more than any other method "normal" people use to deal with the curveballs life throws at me. It's not a problem/issue, but just curious if anyone could relate in some way? I've watched many sitcoms (and still do), but nothing hits like this show.

There are a lot of photos like them, just added a few for example.

"But you're Satan"

I’m watching the ninth episode of the first season, the Thanksgiving episode. Up until now, I’ve always skimmed over one particular line:

"Barney enters kitchen from dining area singing)

Barney: Excuse me, guys. Coming through.

Ted: Barney?

Barney: Well, hi guys.

Ted: What are you doing here?

Barney: Oh, just the Lord's work.

Ted: But you're Satan.

Barney: Guys, OK, look, I don't advertise it, but I volunteer here. I think it's important to help the less fortunate."

https://tvshowtranscripts.ourboard.org/viewtopic.php?f=177&t=11509

Is Barney really the Satan ? Let's see. Taking the entire series into account:

Barney’s behavior suggests a man with narcissistic and sociopathic tendencies. The uninhibited exploitation of women: the “Playbook” is a collection of extreme, often cruel lies (e.g., pretending to be terminally ill or a time traveler) designed to objectify women without empathy or guilt.

He even uses his closest friends to achieve his own goals—for example, the “Robin” marriage proposal was a deliberate psychological manipulation that lasted for months.

Pathological lying and dark deeds: he jokes about things like leaving deceived women in the woods or “selling” a woman.

Corrupt professional life: for years, he knowingly helped a company commit morally and legally indefensible, illegal crimes (the P.L.E.A.S.E. job).

Neil Patrick Harris’s charisma and the show’s humor sell the joke, but in reality, Barney is an emotionally abusive, uninhibited, and dangerous character.

But this isn’t a realistic story. There’s also a symbolic layer to the series. On this level, Barney’s role and function are what Ted actually names here in the ninth episode of the first season.

This has been hinted at since the beginning of the series, and now Ted actually says it out loud. This is also a very early point in the series as a whole. So this is no secret.

It’s very important that Barney points out here that he’s doing the Lord’s work, and Ted reacts to that.

It’s partly a joke, but only partly. The other part is dead serious.

This has many implications for the entire story, which I’m only just beginning to think through myself.
