When Easton’s mom told him, “Pick any animal you want,” most kids might have gone for a playful puppy or a tiny kitten. But Easton had something else in mind. At the shelter, he met Tiny — a 10-year-old, quiet, slightly overweight ginger cat who had been passed over time and again. Tiny had lost his previous home and was living in foster care with his sister, patiently waiting for someone to see past his age and give him a second chance. The moment Easton saw Tiny’s picture, he felt something. No hesitation, no doubts — just an instant connection. At their very first meeting, Tiny curled right into Easton’s arms, as if he knew this was where he belonged. On the car ride home, Tiny stepped out of his carrier and nestled against Easton — a silent promise that they were now family. Since then, they’ve been inseparable. Tiny, a gentle soul often overlooked, found the perfect person in a little boy with a big heart. And Easton found something even more special — a loyal, loving best friend. Because sometimes, the ones who need us the most end up giving us the very best kind of love.

I was so happy to see one of my raven friends back this morning, they were around a lot in the spring but sporadically through the summer.

Never mind the leeches that destroyed our leg, totally worth it to find this beauty

This stunning specimen is the third oldest plant (excluding trees) at Longwood Gardens. Really cool to see in person.
