Overland and prospect homeless man?

Edit: Thank you friends and neighbors. I just wanted to make sure the vibe was accurate. I'm glad we collectively care for Avery. I have enough information, and I appreciate you all. I should have perhaps mentioned Autism was my motivation behind requesting a group assessment, but I appreciate everyone who gave their kind input.

So we have a neighborhood guy who wanders. I've been told he isn't homeless, but lives in a group home? We've all seen him I'm sure.

The police have him stopped on Pecan right now, and it appears to be a check up on him. Before I jump on any causes, I wanted to make sure our wandering neighbor is an ok dude to feel this way about. I've thought to buy him a pack of cigarettes, or to stop and ask how he is.. but I've not lived here long. Do we know our wandering neighbors name, or story?

Buying a home feels impossible

In 2019 the median home price in Fort Collins was around $370,000. Average mortgage rate was sitting around 4%. On a 20% down payment that monthly payment was roughly $1,415.

That same house today is closer to $550,000. Rates near 6-7% (dont start). Same 20% down. That payment is now around $2,930.

That's more than double the monthly payment in five years. On the same house.

Median household income in Fort Collins over that same period went from around $65,000 to maybe $75,000. So income went up roughly 15% and the monthly cost of buying that same house went up over 100%.

I don't know what people are supposed to do with that gap. There's no savings rate or side hustle that closes it. It's just a completely different financial reality wearing the same city's name.

Sun country flights out of FNL?

A sun country flight just flew out of FNL over my house on its way to RNO (Reno). I know that we don’t have any airlines that fly out of that airport and I’m pretty much assuming that there aren’t any CSU sports teams flying out as the semester just ended.

So who do you think was on this flight and how can us FOCO peeps get on one of those?

Job search in social services

My poor mother just found that her job is potentially laying her off next month and I love her so much I want to see if I can get her some help. Her passion is helping those who have been in domestic violence, trafficking, or homeless situations. She currently works at a homeless outreach center and has previously worked at DV shelters and similar other jobs in the past. My mom is the most fantastic woman and has the biggest heart and all she wants to do is help people. The least I can do is help her too if I can. Does anyone know of any social services places in the foco/loveland area looking for someone passionate and hardworking??

Connect for health co

Does anyone have information about market place insurance through connect for health Colorado?

I am stuggling and want to get a 2nd job but that would kick me off medicaid. My next option would sign up for the connect for health co insurance which is showing select health. Seems like a good option like $8 monthly and no co-pays but im new to the insurance world so this seems too good to be true or im not understanding it correctly.

Would select health give me more options than medicaid when it comes to coverage? I'd like to continue my mental health appointments and I have a colonoscopy coming up too and im worried it won't cover it. I also have other health issues that may need treatment coming up.

I just dont know if I should stick with medicaid or maybe select health would be a new option to allow me to make a bit more income but also maybe give me more choices when it comes to doctors and clinics.

FoCo businesses…. Stop with the A.I. slop!

There are a ton of local artists who will work with you, and even if you don’t want to go that route, canva and a little practice is not an impossible task. A.I. art is theft both in terms of the jobs it takes and the fact it builds its images off other artists work.

Be better!

Physical Therapists with EDS experience in Fort Collins and surrounding areas.

Hello, my GF has H-EDS (legit, diagnosed, not fun). Does anyone have experience with physical therapists that are also genuinely knowledgeable around eds? Not talking about EDS specialists because they are either unaffordable or not taking clients (or they are affordable and taking clients but terrible). She is currently seeing a "regular" physical therapist due to a suspected bulging disc from a "eds specialists" who caused a bulging disc in her back day one (yes really), and though he supposedly has experience with eds pts, we both feel that he more or less shrugs his shoulders at a lot of her additional concerns.

So yeah, please help! It's been frustrating. Safe and gradual strength training is the only way to make things better, but she is encountering a lot of roadblocks along the way. Thank you!

Cinemark Kitchen Closed

Sooo does anyone have any idea why the cinemark bistro’s kitchen is closed? Popcorn and drinks and stuff are still available and they’re not closed, but the kitchen itself is closed. Just wondering if anyone has any idea what happened!

Local Farmstands, Farmers Markets, and other local produce

Looking to support more local neighbors this summer, and get good produce or baked goods, meats, dairy, etc. What are your favorite places to go to find such things? I can’t seem to find a megathread.
