I'm still in awe... (Ball N2)
My first ever Billy Strings show was on Saturday Ball arena N2. I came in having listened to Billy strings for years as an enjoyer of bluegrass and folk but didnt know what to expect at the live show All i heard is that they jammed more. But like, I just have no words for what happened at the show this weekend. I had no expectations and really can't describe what I saw. For context, I've been a big fan of DMB for years, especially live, and this felt like a similar crowd, and it really exceeded my expectations. I can't say ive ever witnessed a band so talented who also captured the crowd constantly and to this extent through the music. I feel like I've only been listening to one side of Billy this whole time. Just, wow... Genres mixing seamlessly, the pedals and fx while all still playing acoustic instruments, the energy, THE ENERGY. This may have been the loudest crowd I've ever experienced at a show, or any event for that matter. Lastly, T&T is my new jam x 1 million. It feels like their own "Two Step" (DMB). Going into the show I listened to mainly Dust in a Baggie, Richard Petty, I like Train Songs and the likes of. After the show I am now exploring the full catalogue and cant believe how lovely and much needed Billy's music is in this time of my life. Really life-changing stuff. And thank you to all the other incredible fans there, you made this a really memorable first (of many) Billy Strings shows for this newbie
i didnt even want the breakfast (rant)
the coffee is so expensive it makes sense to buy the meal right?
iced coffee for like $4-5ish alone nowadays and the meal is $6....
the sandwich costs $5.99(or 6.99 someplaces)
the hash browns like $1-2
so either pay $5 for an iced coffee
or pay $6 for iced coffee + sandwich + hash browns
- its a great deal dont get me wrong, but its frustrating having to buy more to feel like im getting a deal, pl
but again, im not willing to outright pay that much for iced coffee at dunkin. thats what stabrucks is for

Question for adults who tried 40hr/week jobs but now only able to do part time
I'm realizing after more than 10 years working/trying to work, that full time jobs do not work with my needs (I am one who suppress as much as possible at work and that takes so much out of me). I think I can handle part time with options to go home after 3-4 hours of work. Questions: 1. When did you realize that full time work was not gonna be something you could manage. 2. How did this impact your career trajectory/field of work? 3. How has your quality of life changes when you stopped pursuing full time work?
I've played sax for 20 years, but it's not my focus anymore, even though I still love it. Thinking about getting an EWI for fun/live/solos where I don't want to deal with all the upkeep of my horn cleaning saliva, reeds, fragility. Anyone in a similar boat that can share?
