This is the sound a data center makes around the clock, every single night - while hundreds of homes sit right next door.

Think there is nothing to do in Fort Wayne?

This online flipbook has a lot of great ideas of places to go and things to do. Please double check with the various venues before going as dates change and restaurants close. (published by The Fort Wayne Update)

Not just for out-of-town visitors, I recommend the Fort Wayne Visitor Guide. (published by Visit Fort Wayne)

For locals wanting something to do that may require a bit more time commitment (but may also open the door to meeting new people while learning a new skill), check out the Fun Times Brochure for class you can take. (published by Fort Wayne Parks and Rec).

Need to get out into nature and take a walk? Fort Wayne Trails Map is a good resource. Please note that some "trails" are just sidewalks, so check the Key before heading out so you aren't disappointed in your experience. (published by Fort Wayne Trails)

For activities Downtown, this website lists events in the core blocks of Fort Wayne. (published by Downtown Fort Wayne). There are several parking garages and surface lots downtown. You may have to walk a block or two (gasp!) to get to your event, but parking is available. Don't forget the outdoor YLNI Farmers Market, which is one of my favorite things to do in the summer. (published by YLNI)

There are festivals nearly every summer weekend at Headwaters Park. Download the brochure from this website. (published by the City of Fort Wayne)

Sports fan? Here are some links to check out local sports as a spectator and/or athlete. (published by Visit Fort Wayne)

Looking for arts and culture? Fort Wayne has a thriving arts community. (published by Visit Fort Wayne) and lots of public murals/sculptures (published by Art This Way). If you download the Visit Fort Wayne app and "check in" at various murals, you can earn points to redeem for FW swag.

Need more information or still can't find something that interests you? Ask your question here.

Have fun exploring the city!

(commence complaining about lack of public transportation, ticket costs, parking, etc)

What is the ultimate Fort Wayne experience?

If someone could only be here for one day and wanted to experience Fort Wayne, what would they HAVE to do?

Key fob

Has anyone ever had to get a key fob replacement. If so did you find a locksmith that was affordable. Crazy how much it cost. 😭😭

Edit: I need it a new fob and it reprogrammed.

Old Time players?

I’m visiting my sister in FW in October.
I play the banjo, mostly old time clawhammer tunes, some bluegrass. Was wondering if there were any fiddle players down to jam on a Saturday night.

Moving

35F moving to FW to be closer to family. What is something you wish you knew when you moved to town? What is your favorite thing about living here? My sister is in the NW side of town but I imagine I will live somewhere downtown.

Safest neighborhood/area to move to?

Moving to Fort Wayne for work at the end of the summer for work and was wondering if anyone had any input on the best neighborhoods to live in or even just areas to avoid. I know I can look up crime maps but I’d rather hear from people first hand as well.

Thank you.

Citilink Bus Website Hacked

The Fort Wayne Citilink website was hacked(?) and attempts to coerce users into compromising their PCs or mobile devices. Going to the site is not recommended.

Anyone have info on how long it's been this way or efforts to fix things? (First screenshot was from 8:35 this morning)

[ Just now on Facebook: "We are experiencing intermittent issues with our website and are in the midst of resolving this. We apologize for any inconvenience and we appreciate your patience at this time." ]

Any good doctors or psychiatrists that can diagnose or help a 10 year old? (preferably Parkview or Alliance)

Hi I’m 16F and I have history of being mentally ill and have the ability to advocate for myself and got diagnosed for many illnesses due to family issues but I am diagnosed with autism/adhd and lately my whole life I seen how my brother who is 10 acts and I can obviously tell he’s autistic or have some type of neurodivergence and major anger issues I love advocating for others too and right now I don’t know what to do for him and need help finding resources to get him the help and support he needs so if he gets diagnosed those papers could eventually help him get a IEP or a class where he can get help cause he’s been held back many times and still in 3rd grade I really need advice and where to find help.

TJ’s Bag Drop

Anyone know if our Trader Joe’s got the new mini insulated tote for the drop today? Just wanted to know if they weren’t included or if I came too late!

Please make trains again 😭

I just saw that we have so many abandoned train tracks downtown and how there used to be a central railway system. We literally have a foundation for it, so why not utilize it. I know FW is trying to expand and metropolitanize, so please have the trains be a part of the plan too even if it's just a little to start off. Indy and other similar size cities are so booty butt cause of all the annoying parking. Am I wrong in saying people want trains. Indiana in general has massive railway infrastructure, but we somehow gave it all up for cars 😭 Why couldn't we keep the trains and cars 😭 I'm so sad about what could've been.

Ok I may be an old man, but hear me out…motorized bikes on bike path?

I’m 40M and my wife 36F and I like to take our 2 small children on the bike path to the nearby park.

For reference we live at a neighborhood near liberty mills and homestead.

All of sudden in the past year or so, there are all these electric dirt bikes ( and some gas). This does not seem safe nor the intent of the “bike” path. All other paths I’ve seen have signs saying “no motorized vehicles”.

Just curious if I’m just being crotchety, or if anyone else is also annoyed. I feel it’s unsafe and would love any tips on how to combat this, besides doing anything that would cause bodily harm.

Thanks!

Anyone know what they’re tearing up under Superior St for the Urban Trail?

Drove past the Urban Trail construction on Superior between Clinton and Lafayette and there’s a pile of old creosote soaked timbers with what looks like steel rail next to it. Looks like wooden ties + girder rail i.e. a streetcar line that got paved over rather than removed.

My best guess is the old Centlivre line that ran from Superior & Calhoun out to the brewery. Last Fort Wayne streetcar ran June 27, 1947.

Anyone with better info, old photos of this stretch, or insight into what the contractor is doing with the materials? Seems like something ARCH or the History Center would want to know about.

New in town

Hi! I’m moving to Fort Wayne from Michigan and have settled on The Marlowe apartments, I think. I’ve seen a lot of older reviews online, but it looks like they’ve changed management/name recently, so I was hoping for some more current opinions.
Does anyone here live there now or have recent experience with the complex? Mainly wondering about:
safety
maintenance responsiveness
noise
overall management experience
how the area is for families/kids
I’m trying to stay in that general area because of the schools and location, so I’d really appreciate any honest feedback. Thanks!

Fiber cable installs SW Fort Wayne

Anyone else having major issues with this 3rd party company that Frontier has hired to install their fiber cable?!

They just cut mine and 7! different neighbors Comcast wires today. They ruptured a gas line in my neighborhood and don’t even get me started how DESTROYED my lawn is. Left an open hole for 5 days and filled it today. I say filled it loosely…it’s a disaster that I’m 100% going to have to fix unless I want a 10x10 trench in my backyard…

Name on the side of the truck says “Utilities 1 Group”. I’d love to know if anyone has a customer service number to call. Seeing as I have no internet for next 7 days until Comcast comes and fixes, I’ve got some time on my hands…
