It is genuinely crazy just how hard these guys bite

Double barred finch. Of all the finches I've handled I've never had any of them bite me as hard as these guys do. They also bite and thrash like a crocodile. But they're just so small and pretty.

Disclaimer: I clean aviaries and aquariums for a living. These birds are semi-feral (in temperament) and only get handled by me every 3 months for trims and medical care. I am very gentle handling them and they get plenty of treats afterwards.

Is it possible to volunteer at a farm around here?

I really want to get farm experience but my current job, which I don't want to quit, has very random and spontaneous hours so I couldn't commit to an actual job. Are there any places in or around Fort Wayne where I could volunteer at a farm instead?

Snow's Serenity

I'm beginning to really miss winter. I took this last year back in November, it was unseasonably snowy.

Can someone familiar with Ada, Oklahoma point me to where the "Callixylon tree" is?

Wikipedia says it's at the East Central University but I cannot find it on Google Maps and the coordinates on Wikipedia just link me to where the fossil was found, not where it is. If you know the coordinates so I can save it I would be very thankful.

Can anyone recommend a cage for a smaller space?

I clean aviaries for my job. I had to take home 3 society finches and 1 canary because they were sick and the aviary was very overstocked. The cage provided by the company I work for is very small and I want a larger one, but I am working with limited space. The space is 6ft height, 20 inches width at the smallest point and 30 inches width at the widest point. Is there anything that would fit this parameter or will I have to do something custom?

I can almost pretend I'm not next to a golf course right now (Foster Park, Fort Wayne Indiana USA)

There was a ton of poison ivy.

I don't think YouTube is sending out notifications to any of my subscribers

I have a main content channel, my own personal account and then an account specifically for testing notifications. The personal account hasn't gotten a notification from the main channel in at least a month. The test account has NEVER gotten a notification from the main channel. Notifications are on with my long form content, but not shorts because I know shorts get better views that way. Subscription notifications are on for both accounts.

I just made a post asking my subscribers if they got a notification for my most recent upload, so we'll see how that goes. Does anyone know how and why this might be happening and how to fix it?

I hit 80 subscribers :)

Viewstats screenshot because I don't know how other people on the subreddit are getting their overviews of their channel. I mostly upload videos of nature, weather and sometimes my pets. I use it very casually, so I'm proud of how far I've made it.

Any advice for getting my long form views up a little?

I know that quiet nature videos like this really don't get many views (at least I can't find any) but I would like for my long form content to get some more attention. I have 80 subscribers and have been casually working on this channel for about 3 years, my shorts are what get the most views. I don't like to clickbait and have basically no experience in making thumbnails, but I struggle to imagine how any thumbnail would be better than a still from the video.

Relief after a drought

We had no rain and high temperatures for 2 weeks straight but it finally rained

u/MattHarlow02 — 4 months ago

Can someone please help me translate this?

This is a comment left on one of my shorts (a video of rain) and I've tried a dozen or so online translators but not a single one translates it fully or has a translation that makes sense in context. Thank you for your time.

After over 6 years I finally found these pictures again

In 2019 I was 17 and went on a bike ride with my brother to check out the early Halloween decorations people were putting out and discovered this guy. It felt so surreal. The whole time we were there it never stopped wandering around the spray-painted warning.
