Found Xrocker - keep it?

Someone in my mom’s building was giving this away. I grabbed it and threw it in the truck and came home. Only after arriving back did I notice it needed wires. I have an adapter that fits it but looks like it may have had an external receiver. Is that true and if so readily available?

I don’t want to use hard wires because based on my home layout there’s a lot of potential for my dog or one of my kids to trip, or worse, knock down the Xbox.

Thoughts? Next steps?

Why is this type of chair so hard to find?

Due to a couple of herniated discs I've been struggling with low back pain during long gaming sessions. I've tried every conventional solution: standing desks, lumbar supports, etc (and please, don't start with the "exercise more" mantra. I'm a veteran weight-lifter, I do yoga on my off-days and and I've been working on my back extensions for more than a decade).
Because nothing seems to work, I have reached the conclusion that I'm only ever going to be pain-free by gaming HORIZONTALLY.

So I've been looking for a recliner chair that would fit taller users (I'm 190cm), and I've quickly ran into a wall: there seems to be virtually NO recliners out there, that have VERTICALLY TILTING armrests.

What I mean is: in 99% of office chairs, when you recline backwards, the armrests tilt upwards with you (which makes it functionally impossible to use the mouse and keyboard on your desk). I need a recliner with independent armrests that can stay flush with the desk surface AFTER tilting backwards.

It seems the only options out there are either:
1- Monstrously expensive metal contraptions you would see in a BDSM dungeon (like the Levo Zero Gravity Workstation).
2- DIY set-ups which look very time-consuming and trial-and-error to build.
3- Lap boards meant for couch+TV or couch+laptop setups (like the CYCON couch master).

HOW is it possible that with entire generations of aging gamers/programmers/remote workers, not a single brand out there has noticed this massive gap in the market? They could make a fortune.

Please read - Real leather is mostly PU leather Noble chair has lied somewhat

Just thought I’d put this out there for anyone looking at buying a noblechairs Real Leather chair.

I went back and forth with Overclockers about this because the chair was being advertised as real leather, but after questioning it and doing some research, it became clear that the whole chair is not actually real leather — only the contact areas are.

After I raised this with Overclockers, they have now changed the listing. However, the change has been made pretty discreetly in the specifications, where it now clarifies that only the contact areas are real leather.

The noblechairs page still gives the impression that you're buying a real leather chair, without making it obvious that this doesn't mean the entire chair is leather.

I know a lot of people on here will say, “No, mine is definitely all leather.” I thought exactly the same thing. But it isn't.

Just putting this out there so anyone paying extra for the Real Leather version knows what they're actually buying. If you're spending the premium because you think you're getting a chair fully upholstered in real leather, check the specifications carefully first.

Gaming chair for 280kg?

Hey! Never bought myself a gaming chair before (my previous ones were bought by my mother), but now I find myself at the point at which my current one with a 250kg limit is creaking a LOT lot. And I've been struggling to find one to carry my 280kg body - any suggestions for good ones?

8–10 Hours a Day: Embody vs Leap V2 vs ROG Courser — Which One?

Looking for a chair for both work and gaming. I’m sitting 8–10 hours a day, my budget is around $1k, but I’m willing to spend more if it’s actually worth it.

I sometimes sit with one leg up, and I occasionally get lower-back discomfort after sitting for a long time.

I’m currently looking at:

* Herman Miller Gaming Embody
* ASUS ROG Courser
* Steelcase Leap V2 (if I can find a good deal)

I’m mainly torn between the ROG Courser for the extra cushion, 4D lumbar/armrests, and dynamic synchronized recline, versus the Gaming Embody, which I keep hearing is one of the best chairs for long hours and has a 12-year warranty.

For anyone who has owned or used these, which would you pick for 8–10 hour days? Especially interested in lower-back comfort, being able to change positions, and work + gaming.

Any input would be appreciated!

For those who say gaming chairs are poor quality—behold, my >5yo Andaseat

I just wanted to make a post because I have seen a lot of hate for gaming chairs over the years, with many people saying all of them are terrible quality and/or poorly made, particularly the lesser known brands. And while I agree that the large majority of gaming chairs are not very good quality, particularly those made with PVC "leather", or in the sub-$300 range, if you're willing to spend a little bit more money, I think you can find some good ones out there. So I just wanted to play devil's advocate and share my experience with my 5+ year old Anda Seat T-Pro II, which has been renamed to the Kaiser XL, I believe.

For context, I am 42yo, 6'1/200lbs, and I have an L5S1 herniated disc in my back — back pain can definitely be an issue for me at times, so I wanted to get a chair that was simultaneously comfortable, firm, supportive, which would hopefully last many years, and to get all that for $400 at most. I spent several months researching chairs, and of course, most people steered me towards office chairs, with many recommendations for Steelcase and HM. Now I know those chairs are beloved, supportive, and quite robust, they were sadly out of my price range, but I also wanted something in which I could comfortably recline fairly far back.

I built my first gaming PC in late 2020 and when I built my setup, I needed a chair to meet all those requirements for me. I researched over 3-4 months, likely read 100+ reviews, and looked into many of the lower-priced chairs on amazon — Sihoo, Dowinx, GT Racing, Autofull, various unpronounceable brands that likely came from the same Chinese factories, etc. It was honestly a bit overwhelming, and forums like this didn't provide much help because I got so many conflicting responses. Some people love their gaming chairs, some people abhor them, but the general consensus from the majority of people is that they are generally mediocre at best and that a good quality office chair would be a better choice for someone with occasional back pain who has to sit for long periods.

Then I came upon Andaseat and I thought their chairs looked pretty good and, at least at the time, the warranty seemed solid since they offered 3yrs on the chair and a lifetime warranty on the base if you left a review. I am pretty sure that they still offer a 3-year warranty, but if you leave a review they will extend the warranty to 5 years for free now, for the whole chair, not just the base. I had never heard of the company, so I did some research and I discovered that they used to make performance seats for cars, and that they are very popular in China with esports players.

So I figured if Andaseat chairs felt sufficiently comfortable for Chinese esports players, whom I know will sometimes be in their chairs for over 12 hours at a time, I assumed it might be okay for me. Unfortunately, you can't get an Andaseat chair for these prices now, both because of inflation and because more people know about them now, so they can probably charge a bit more. Anyway, many people steered me towards Secret Lab, but at the time I didn't have $500+ for a chair, and I had a gift card to Amazon, so I went with the Andaseat T-Pro II, which looks to have the same general shape and features as their newer Kaiser chairs, so I'm pretty sure they renamed it.

When I received the chair, everything was packed well, there was enough protection, and everything came in good condition with nothing missing or any broken parts. I put the chair together in less than an hour, and at first I thought it was a little firm, but within a few weeks, I became more comfortable sitting in it. I honestly have nothing but positive things to say about this chair. If I were to nitpick, I would say that the armrests are a little wiggly now, but I'm pretty sure that's to be expected after more than 5 years of use lol. I have sat in this chair for 12 hours at a time, my friends and I have fallen asleep overnight in it, and in 5 years of using it, it has never caused any back pain or made me feel uncomfortable or too hot/sweaty, which I attribute to choosing fabric over PVC leather.

So I guess I'm just here to share my experience so that all the haters who visit this subreddit, and the number of people I have seen who say Andaseat chairs are objectively terrible and that they'll fall apart in a year or two, can see that is not necessarily the case. I'm sure there are people who have had bad experiences, and I'm sure there are people who are not happy with Andaseat, or gaming chairs in general, and I would say that's because comfort is subjective considering we all have different shapes, sizes and issues. But if you are on the fence about getting one of these chairs because someone told you they will fall apart or they are poor quality, I'm just sharing my experience to show the other side of that. I like my Andaseat enough that they will be the first place I go to look when I eventually need a new chair, which might be soon since I'm thinking of building a new office. Anyway, I hope that I was able to convince some people to not completely dismiss these chairs and at least check them out for yourself. Happy gaming!

What kind of chair works best if you use the same desk for work and gaming?

I’m trying to improve my desk setup, and one thing I keep going back and forth on is whether I should have a dedicated gaming chair or just get a good ergonomic office chair and use it for everything.

My desk is basically used for everything now. I work there, browse the internet, watch videos, sometimes study, and occasionally spend several hours gaming. Because of that, I don’t really want a chair that is designed around only one activity.

For work, I care much more about back support and being able to keep my arms in a comfortable position while typing. When gaming, I tend to move around more and lean back occasionally. When watching something, I’d definitely like the option to recline instead of sitting completely upright.

That makes adjustability seem more useful than the appearance of the chair. I’ve been looking at ergonomic options from HBADA too, mainly because some of their chairs offer features like adjustable armrests, lumbar support and reclining. I’m just not sure whether an ergonomic office chair is actually the better all-around choice for gaming as well.

I’ve also started thinking about the difference between a chair that looks like a gaming chair and one that actually works well for gaming. Racing-style chairs look cool, but I’m not sure whether that shape is necessarily better when you’re sitting for six or seven hours.

A breathable material also sounds appealing because I don’t like feeling hot after sitting for a long time. At the same time, I don’t want to sacrifice cushioning or support just for airflow.

So for people who use one chair for both work and gaming, what has worked best for you?

Would you choose a dedicated gaming chair, a traditional ergonomic office chair, or something that sits somewhere in between?

And what feature would you refuse to compromise on if you were setting up your desk again from scratch?

Taking so long to ship

I placed order for Kraken Pro around 10 days ago and still got no order update. I contacted chat support and they just say "Allocating stocks"...What?

Blacklyte needs to clearly mention how long it will take for shipping. I already threw away my old chair and have to sit on dinning chair. If I can't get any update in a couple of days, I'll ask for refund.

lower spine feels so much better after swapping seats

my pelvis and lower back used to ache continuously from sitting flat on a worn-out cushion. the hbada lumbar curve on this chair actually cradles your lower spine properly. posture feels effortless now

I think I am done with traditional gaming chairs

I used a racing style gaming chair for years and never really questioned it until I started spending longer sessions at my desk. I wanted something that could still recline and feel good for gaming without sacrificing actual back support. Ended up going with the Hbada X7 and I much prefer this style now. It feels more like an ergonomic office chair when sitting upright, but I can still lean back and relax once I am done working.

Andaseat

Hi all. I need a new gaming chairs and this brand sounds like a great alternative to secretlab. But a lot of their reviews seem fake. Do any non bots have these and like/dislike them? I'm currently looking at the Kaiser 4 or Kaiser 4 pro. It's a little pricey but my back is killing me and I'm tired of replacing chairs every two years

Edit. I really wish in person shopping was a better option for those chairs so I could test them out. Everyone has such different experiences and it's such a big investment. For what it's worth I'm 5'5 and 180 pounds so a bit heavier but I don't need an XL chair

Edit 2: I have decided to go with the Kaiser 3. The chair arrives in 3 days. I will report back with my findings, so thank you to all who gave me their thoughts. This will be the most expensive chair I have ever bought so I have high hopes

Need Ergonomic Chair Recommendations (Software Engineer, Budget ₹10k–₹25k) | Office vs. Gaming Chair?

Hey folks,

I’m a software engineer spending most of my day sitting at my desk, and I’m looking for a solid ergonomic chair. Since this is something I plan to buy once and use long-term, comfort and durability are my main priorities.

My Requirements & Budget:

  • Budget: Dynamic—between ₹10,000 and ₹25,000. I don't have an infinite budget, but I’m completely fine stretching up to ₹25k if a higher-end model is genuinely worth every rupee. On the flip side, if a ₹10k–₹15k chair does the job perfectly without compromises, I’m happy to save the cash.
  • Primary Use: Long coding/work hours.
  • Goal: Maximum comfort, stronglumbar support, and no regrets/back pain down the line.

A Few Specific Questions:

  1. Office/Ergonomic vs. Gaming Chairs: Which one is actually better for long work hours? (I’ve heard mixed things about gaming chairs lacking proper lumbar support, but open to opinions).
  2. Brand & Model Suggestions: Which brands inIndia/Bangalore (e.g., Featherlite, Green Soul, Transteel, Haworth, Sihoo, etc.) offer the best build quality and after-sales service?
  3. Online vs. Offline Shopping: Is it better to buy online or test them in person first?
  • If Offline: Which physical stores or experience centers in Bangalore (e.g., Featherlite showrooms, Koramangala/Indiranagar furniture hubs, Commercial Street, etc.) are best to try out ergonomic chairs before buying?
  • If Online: Which websites offer reliable delivery, easy return/replacement policies, and good warranty support?

If you have firsthand experience with a chair you love (or hate!), please share:

  • Brand & Model Name
  • Approximate Price
  • Pros & Cons based on your daily use
