High arm rest office/gaming chairs

Everytime I buy a chair for my desk the arm rests are WAY to short!

I want to be able to sit up straight with back support but also rest at the least my elbows on an arm rest and reach my keyboard. I am 5”6’ and 205lb so not particularly tall but most of my hight seems to come from my torso I have been told by doctors that I have “very high set hips” which I assume is the polite was of saying I have short legs.

I play a lot of video game sat my desk such as slay the spire 2 and would like to be able to sit at my desk with a straight back and rest my arms.

The chair I currently have is the downinx crosslegged office chair (which is perfect in every way except the arm rests)

Any suggestions?

What are some of the best ergonomic comfortable chairs under 10k? (India)

I have been sitting in a plastic nilkamal chair till date but now my knees and back hurt because of this chair. I am planning on upgrading since the sale is also nearby too. My use case is casual gaming and long time sitting watching classes or content. Comfort and long lasting chair are my two most important criteria.

CORSAIR TC100 RELAXED Review

This unit was sent by Corsair for review, but this will not influence my opinion on it.

Thank you to Corsair for this opportunity.

  • Design and Materials

The design of the TC100 Relaxed moves away from the aggressive racing style that usually dominates the gaming chair category. Its "Relaxed" line is based on softer side bolsters and a wider, more welcoming seat profile. The aesthetic is understated, with sober colors and finishes that blend seamlessly into any gaming or workspace without being flashy. In that sense, it's an offering that prioritizes function over looks, which is appreciated when investing in a chair to spend long hours working or gaming.

Material quality is a key factor when deciding whether to buy it or not. The fabric version is clearly superior to the faux leather one, since the fabric is soft to the touch, breathable, and perforated in key areas to promote ventilation, which is pleasant in both summer and winter. The faux leather version, on the other hand, is difficult to recommend, as the material is of lower quality and degrades with use, particularly when exposed to heat. Therefore, the fabric option is unquestionably the way to go.

The seat's internal structure is made of steel, which provides a solid base. However, the wheelbase and outer frame are made of reinforced nylon; although at first glance this may inspire little confidence regarding durability and structural stability given the material used, it feels sufficiently sturdy in practice. A steel structure would have been appreciated, even if only for the star-shaped wheelbase, since the nylon gives a poor first impression. It weighs approximately 18.3 kg, and assembly is fairly manageable for one person, although Corsair recommends doing it with two.

The overall finish is solid for its price range. The backrest cover, lumbar cushion, and headrest cushion are all removable and washable, a detail that extends the product's lifespan and isn't common, a point in its favor compared to the competition. The wheels have a 65 mm diameter and don't roll when the chair is unloaded, a basic safety requirement. On wood or parquet floors they roll smoothly and without leaving marks. A wheel-locking mechanism would have been the bare minimum to expect at this price range, since some competing brands do include it, meaning you have to pay extra to get locking wheels.

  • Ergonomics and Comfort

It's designed for a wide range of users. Official specs indicate compatibility with heights up to 188 cm and weights up to 120 kg. The seat measures 54 cm wide and 50 cm deep, allowing plenty of room even for users with a broader build, though very tall users may find the backrest a bit tight.

Initial comfort is one of its strong points. Thick padding, especially in the seat area, gives a soft feel similar to that of an armchair. However, the padding is also one of its most vulnerable points long-term: the fill density isn't the highest, which can cause it to compress and lose height with continued use. This is a limitation shared by all chairs in this category, though a bit more padding to extend its lifespan would have been welcome.

The lumbar cushion does its job for most users, though it's basic compared to integrated systems like the one on the TC500 Luxe. Since it's optional and height-adjustable via an elastic strap, and that strap has a limited adjustment range, tall users may not be able to reach the correct lumbar position. For users with back problems or reduced lumbar mobility, it can't be recommended unless an external substitute cushion is used.

The headrest cushion is made of memory foam. It adapts well to the neck and helps prevent neck strain during long sessions, although its position on the backrest can also be problematic for users who are taller or shorter than average. The cushions share an unavoidable drawback: the elastic straps, despite being the best quality I've seen in this category, gradually loosen with continued use. This is worth factoring in when evaluating this chair, though it's a trait shared by all chairs in this price range.

The backrest reclines up to 160°, allowing you to adjust the position to your liking, all the way to a near-horizontal resting position, with good stability at intermediate positions. The structure holds up fine within the specified weight range.

  • Adjustments and Ease of Use

Assembly is simple and intuitive. The box includes all the hardware and the Allen key needed, so no additional tools are required. The full process can be completed in under 15-20 minutes. The only downside here is the lack of printed instructions in some units; in that case, the manual is available on Corsair's official website. As for the packaging, it leaves much to be desired for a mid-to-high-end chair from a brand like Corsair.

The available adjustments are typical for a chair in this price range. Seat height adjusts between 45 and 55 cm via a class-4 gas piston (10 cm of travel). The backrest reclines from 90° to 160° with locking at the desired position. The rocking mechanism allows smooth movement of up to 10° when unlocked, which many gamers may not find particularly useful but is appreciated in work settings.

The armrests are 2D: they offer height adjustment of roughly 10 cm of travel and slight lateral adjustment when bolted on, though it would have been nice to have at least 3 positions for lateral and frontal adjustment, this could be a drawback for users who work long hours with a mouse or who need specific postures. They don't offer forward/backward movement or rotation, which clearly sets them apart from the 4D armrests found on higher-end models. The armrest pads are made of a material similar to soft rubber, comfortable to the touch, though somewhat firm and resistant.

  • Conclusion

The Corsair TC100 Relaxed in its fabric version is a solid, honest option for anyone looking for a chair in the €200-250 range. Its greatest strength is the combination of immediate comfort, breathable materials, generous dimensions, and quality details that aren't common at this price point: washable covers, a memory foam headrest cushion, and an internal steel frame.

Its limitations are equally clear. The 2D armrests are the most obvious shortfall compared to higher-end models, and the padding doesn't guarantee the same durability as chairs in higher tiers. It's not the most ergonomic or the most adjustable chair on the market, but for what it offers and at its price, it delivers well for users who spend many hours a day gaming or working.

For users with specific ergonomic needs, it's worth considering higher-end models within Corsair's own lineup. The faux leather model is difficult to recommend since it's priced the same as the fabric version, it could only be worth considering if there were a sale with a significant price gap versus the fabric model. Overall, for the average user looking for a chair in this price range, the fabric TC100 Relaxed is a safe choice that's unlikely to disappoint.

Just pulled the trigger on the GTPlayer GT829 on Amazon for $120 shipped

It was on discount and had some features I was interested in -

- 155 degree recline

- foot rest

- spring cushion

- linked arm rest

I had two office chairs in my office - a bigger one I've had for about 15 years, and a smaller drafting chair.

The bigger one fell apart while I was sitting in it last week and the smaller one had no head support and is only comfortable for about 20 minutes.

Hoping I made the right choice

Tried the Herman Miller Aeron today

I have been reading and watching a lot of videos about office chairs this past week, as I am finally realizing that my old Clutch Chairz Throttle Pewdiepie Edition is not actually that comfortable nor ergonomic.

Today I went to a big showroom where they had the Herman Miller Aeron and a bunch of other office chairs that I didn’t recognize, except for Herman Miller Sayl.

Some of the Aeron’s had remastered written on the pricetag, but they all had the PostureFit SL, so I guess they were all remastered.

I am 6’2 (189 cm), weigh 198 lbs (90 kg) and I preferred the size C.

I tried maybe 10 different chairs, but the Aeron was vastly superior to the others imo. After trying the Aeron, I just felt annoyed when I sat in any of the other chairs. It just felt much more relaxing and comfortable to sit in the Aeron.

It was the only fully mesh chair that I tried, however a few weeks ago I tried my cousin’s Sihoo Doro C300 and was impressed by that too, so I guess I really like mesh chairs.

I was there for about 40 minutes and 25 of those minutes were probably spent in the Aeron. When I left the place I noticed that my back felt sore. I have never felt like this after sitting in a chair. The feeling went away after about 30 minutes, but this has me worried about getting the Aeron now.

So to any Aeron owners, did you feel sore in the beginning of your ownership and did the soreness go away after your body got used to it?

Looking for new desk chair

Hi All!

I'm hunting for a new desk chair and seem to have run into impossible expectations.

My former desk chair was a fairly plush executive chair. It was very comfy, and felt good to sit in for hours, but the armrests weren't adjustable which cause caused some neck pain/imbalance. The piston bracket underneath cracked so now the chair is super unstable and wobbly (attempting to find a new bracket, but it's a pretty old chair (10+ years))

I ordered a new chair from Costco, some gaming chair which seemed okay, but it is the most godawful uncomfortable chair I've ever sat in, so I'll be returning it as soon as a narrow down a new chair.

This brings me to my list that I need your help finding.

- I'd like a chair that's soft and comfortable. I don't typically sit in the chair all day, I work construction so ideally I'd like something soft to fall into for a couple hours of gaming at night.

- I'm also trying to find a chair with adjustable arms so that I can position myself at my desk properly (The non-adjustable arms in my old chair constantly bash in to the front of my desk since they have those huge loop type supports)

- I'd like to keep the price below $1000, below $500 if that's even possible.

- I'm around 250lbs, so something that can support 400+ is probably better

- I'm in Canada, so if I can avoid importing, that also be nice

I feel like I'm looking for a unicorn, but maybe someone here knows of something.

Thanks everyone!

Best secretlab chair this 2026 that's still worth it for long hours of gaming and work?

I’ve been spending way more time sitting lately because of both work and gaming, and I started noticing my back and hips getting uncomfortable after a few hours straight. I remember secretlab chairs used to be the go-to recommendation everywhere, so I started looking back into them again this year to see if they’re still as good as people say.

I’ve already tried adjusting my desk height, adding a cheap lumbar pillow, and even switching between different seating positions throughout the day, but the discomfort still builds up after long sessions.

For those who’ve actually used a secretlab chair for a while, how has it been in terms of durability and comfort over time? Does it still feel good after long gaming or work sessions, or does it start to lose shape/support?

Anyone here actually using the Blacklyte Athena Pro? Is it any good?

I am looking into buying the Blacklyte Athena Pro but I want to get opinions from real owners first. I saw a few reviews online but they only cover the initial unboxing. The main reasons I am considering it are the dual layer memory foam seat, the magnetic pillow, and the built in lumbar support. It looks like a decent alternative to a Secretlab or Razer Iskur without paying as much. If you have been using the Athena Pro for a while, let me know your thoughts on it. Does the seat cushion still hold its shape or does it flatten out completely? I just want to make sure the foam is comfortable and doesn't get rock hard after a few months. Let me know if you have one and if you can recommend it.

Are Secretlab and Blacklyte secretly the same company?

Just thought I could rant here.

So before I got my first chair, I basically lived on the Internet till I ended up in Athena Pro. And even during that time, I felt that Blacklyte and Secretlab chairs are really similar in build and quality. I've been pondering on it, especially since my friend got a Titan Evo as well. But then just yesterday, I heard Secretlab has a new gaming chair called Atlas, and I was like, "Doesn't Blacklyte have a gaming desk called Atlas as well?"

These two companies... If it's not healthy competition amongst them, then I feel they must be the same company, or maybe Secretlab just wanted to use the same name in the same niche?

Anyways, those two are so suspicious.

Best chair under ₹20k? Office chair or gaming chair?

My budget is **under ₹20,000**.

Everyone keeps recommending office chairs over gaming chairs because they're better for posture. The two I see recommended the most are **Featherlite Amaze** and **Green Soul Jupiter Pro**.

My only concern is that I really like the full back cushioning of gaming chairs. I don't enjoy mesh backs or chairs with very little padding.

Should I buy the **Featherlite Amaze** or **Green Soul Jupiter Pro**, or should I stick with a gaming chair? Are there any better options under ₹20k?

Good chair for fat people on a tight budget?

Last chairs hydraulics blew up about 6 months ago. Backup crappy folding chair has actually ended up doing damage to my back. Need a good chair for a fat man of average height. I am around 300-315lb. I am buried in medical bills currently due to my mother experiencing a massive brain aneurysm rupture resulting in several strokes and basically becoming a vegetable. Maximum budget is around $110. All I am finding are crappy chairs of very mixed reviews or alright but with quality control problems. Looked at office chairs mostly and some of the higher reviewed gaming chairs in the price range. First time upgrading to an actual chair though so I am unsure of what brands are reputable and whatnot.
