Future Grand Highlander Hybrid Owner Looking for Advice

Looking for some advice from current Grand Highlander Hybrid owners.

I'm planning on buying one after I move to North Carolina in late August/early September, but I'm stuck on a few decisions.

I'm pretty set on the Hybrid, but I can't decide between the XLE and Limited. The Limited looks to be a bit over $6k more, and on paper I like the upgrades (leather, ventilated seats, 360° camera, etc.), but I'm wondering if people actually feel it's worth the extra money after living with it.

I'm also trying to figure out when to buy. Do Grand Highlander Hybrids usually get better deals toward the end of the year, or should I just buy once I get settled after the move? I've read mixed posts, some people say Toyota hybrids rarely get discounted, while others have been able to negotiate a good deal. I'd love to hear anyone's thoughts specially if you bought it recently or end of year.

I've also seen mixed experiences with availability. Some people say they waited months, while others were able to find several on dealer lots. I'm open to driving anywhere in North Carolina if it means getting a good deal.

Last question: my current car is only worth about $3,500. Would you trade it in to Toyota, or just sell it to CarMax/Carvana?

Would love to hear what you would do if you were in my shoes. Thanks!

Maximizing FHR on for 2 Plats?

I have a question about maximizing the Amex Platinum FHR hotel credit.

I already booked a 2-night stay through FHR and used my first $300 hotel credit. I'd like to extend it to 3 nights, but I want to use my second half-year hotel credit for the additional night.

What's the best way to do this?

  • Do I need to use my own Platinum card again, or can I make the second reservation with my wife's Platinum card?
  • If the second reservation is under my wife's name, will the hotel typically combine the reservations so we don't have to switch rooms?
  • Or do both reservations need to be under the same guest name for the hotel to link them?

Has anyone done this successfully? Any tips on the best way to handle it with the hotel or Amex would be appreciated.

Help! Which one should I get? Basilisk V3 Pro, Viper V3 Pro, or DeathAdder V3 Pro

I've watched way too many reviews and read way too many threads, and I've somehow narrowed it down to these three:

  • Basilisk V3 Pro
  • Viper V3 Pro
  • DeathAdder V3 Pro

I currently play Marathon & WoW, but also Warzone, Apex, Battlefield 6.

The Basilisk looks great because of the extra buttons and features, the Viper seems to be everyone's favorite for FPS games, and the DeathAdder is tempting because of how cheap it is right now.

Any help would be awesome!

Need a new gaming mouse! What are you gamers using in 2026?

Just picked up an ASUS ROG Strix G16 and I'm looking to upgrade my mouse. Curious what everyone is using these days for FPS/MMO gaming.

Games I mainly play:

  • Marathon
  • Warzone
  • Apex Legends
  • Battlefield 6
  • Cyberpunk 2077
  • WoW

Right now I'm considering:

  • Logitech G502 X Lightspeed
  • Razer Basilisk V3 Pro
  • Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro

If you've used any of these, what did you like/dislike? Or is there another mouse you'd recommend instead?

What are you all running these days?

New Amazon Offer for Plat Only

Got an Amex offer that says “Spend $50+, get 500 MR points, up to 3 times.”

I’m about to spend around $200 on Amazon anyway. If I do one $200 order, will it automatically give all 1,500 points? Or do I need to split it into separate $50+ orders for the offer to trigger multiple times?

Trying to decide if I should split my cart up or not. The fine print says says one or more qualifying purchases. Just wondering if anyone has the same offer, and claimed it.

Update from my last post: decided on ASUS ROG Strix G16 RTX 5070 Ti, going to buy today, any last thoughts?” (Under 2k)

Update from my last post — I think I’ve finally narrowed it down and I’m planning to go to Micro Center later today to pick up the ASUS ROG Strix G16 G615LR-MS97 (RTX 5070 Ti).

Original post for context:
https://www.reddit.com/r/GamingLaptops/comments/1tlsdra/need_help_choosing_a_gaming_laptop/

After getting a lot of helpful feedback and comparing a bunch of options (Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 AI, Legion models, etc.), I ended up leaning toward the Strix G16 Platinum Collection.

Micro Center currently has it listed as ~$1100 off MSRP, and I’m also planning to check if my local store has any open-box units.

Main games I play:

  • Warzone
  • Apex Legends
  • Battlefield 6
  • Cyberpunk 2077
  • WoW

Before I actually pull the trigger, I wanted to do one last check with people who may own this exact model — any issues, regrets, or things I should know before buying?

Is this a good deal? ASUS ROG Strix G16 G615LR-MS97 16"

Looking at picking up the ASUS ROG Strix G16 G615LR-MS97 from Micro Center for $1900 (I believe this is the Platinum Collection version).

Specs:

  • Ultra 9 275HX
  • RTX 5070 Ti
  • 32GB RAM
  • 2TB SSD
  • 240Hz 1600p display

My max budget is $2k, and the main alternative I’ve looked at is the Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 AI with similar specs.

Mainly using it for FPS games (Warzone, Apex, BF6) and RPGs (Cyberpunk, Elden Ring, WoW).

Micro Center currently has it listed as ~$1100 off MSRP, and I’m also planning to check if my local store has any open-box units.

Does this seem like a good deal for the price compared to other gaming laptops around $2k? Also curious how the 2025 Strix models have been in terms of thermals, build quality, and overall longevity.

Need Help Choosing a Gaming Laptop?

Budget: ($1500-$2000)

Country: (USA)

Use Case: (Gaming)

Preferred Specs: Open

Notes: (Below)

Hey everyone,

I’m trying to decide between a few gaming laptops and I’d really appreciate some advice before I pull the trigger. I mainly play FPS games (Warzone, Apex, BF6) and RPGs (Cyberpunk, Elden Ring, WOW), and I’d also like the option to stream occasionally maybe one day.

I’m trying to stay around $1500, but I’m flexible up to about $2000 max if it’s worth it for longevity.

Here are the laptops I’m currently considering:

ASUS - ROG Strix G16 16" FHD 165Hz Gaming Laptop - AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX - 16GB RAM - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti - 1TB SSD
From Best Buy for as they have a deal for $1649.99

ASUS ROG Strix G16 G615LR-MS97 16" Gaming Laptop Computer Platinum Collection-Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX 2.1GHz Processor; NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 12GB GDDR7; 32GB DDR5-5600 RAM; 2TB Solid State Drive From Micro Center for $1899.99

Acer - Predator Helios Neo 16S AI Gaming Laptop - 16" OLED 240Hz - Intel Core Ultra 9 - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070Ti – 32GB – 1TB From Best Buy for $1849.99

Does it make more sense to go with 16GB RAM or should I stick with 32GB for future-proofing? I’m mainly trying to get something that will last me a while without needing upgrades right away.
I also can’t really build a desktop due to space, and from what I’ve seen it would end up costing about the same or more anyway.

Would really appreciate any advice or real-world experience with these laptops.
