I’m a pretty avid US Deathmatch player on Xbox. Over the last 4-5 months I started to notice a player I hadn’t seen before, that is always on a lawnmower. For a few weeks we’d be on at the same time of night and I’d make it a point to chase him for a bit. He is REALLY good at controlling that god damn lawnmower, so he’s slippery like an eel. After a match where I slid sideways into the wall, trapping him and sending him flying, he messaged me a laugh emoji, and we proceeded to chat for a couple minutes about our prior cat fights and how much I’ve enjoyed the chase. A few weeks later we are in the same server, and it starts getting late so players start dropping, and it ends up just being me and this guy, and 2 other players at Big Valley. After about 2 minutes the 2 guys have dropped, so it’s just me in my Razor, chasing the lawnmower man. I was laughing so hard that my wife came out from the bedroom to see what was up. I’m not sure what it was about that match, but chasing that lawnmower 1x1 is one of my favorite memories from this game.

Since then, we will message if we end up in the same lobby; usually because once I see him I start picking on him… at which time he evades me, because he’s slippery... like eel.

To preface this, I live in the middle of the woods and can't get good internet here so I ping out every few races.

I was in a special vehicle lobby on PlayStation and I was doing good, dodging backwards busses and winning races.

This guy starts complaining that I'm friends with the bus people and they're helping me win. Which wasn't the case at all, I don't know any of these bus drivers. I do enjoy the backwards drivers though, it adds more of a challenge.

So I turn my mic on and tell him jokingly that he's just not good enough to beat me. He goes off on a temper tantrum and gets in a bus trying to take me out.

Then I ping out and can't rejoin the lobby. He blocked me.

On PlayStation, if you block someone's account then they can't join any lobby you're in and you can't join theirs. And people take advantage of that. Spin somebody out? Blocked. Win too many races in a row? Blocked.

It's absolutely pathetic. Stop blocking people just because you can't handle the game.

Perfect example of just keep pushing, no matter how it's going in the moment.

In the age of GaaS, looter shooters, battle royales, extraction shooters, etc., you can still find full lobbies in Wreckfest at pretty much any time.

For me, that's a big deal. It's almost like playing Burnout 3 on PS2 back in 2004 and finding the lobbies packed.

This game has practically nothing that appeals to the modern audience, yet it still has a surprisingly active player base.

And I'm not even talking about PC. I only play Wreckfest on PS5, and it's incredible how consistently full the lobbies are.

It's a niche genre that, thankfully, isn't dead. As a huge fan of racing games, especially FlatOut, it makes me happy to see Wreckfest doing so well.

And I can't wait to see Wreckfest 2 fully released!

Anyone know if Wreckfest goes on sale often? Been wanting to try it, but I’m waiting for a good price.

Would be pretty lucky if someone happened to have an extra copy they weren’t using though

Hi everyone,

I’ve spent so many hours playing the original Wreckfest through my friend’s Steam Family sharing, and I’m absolutely hooked on the physics, the crashes, and the racing dynamic. It’s easily one of my favorite racing games ever made.

I am incredibly hyped for Wreckfest 2, especially with the updated destruction engine and customization features. Unfortunately, my personal budget is extremely tight right now, and I just can't afford the full retail price to get my own copy on Steam.

Does anyone happen to know if Bugbear usually puts their games on sale a few months after launch, or if there are any legitimate, safe stores that offer official discounts? I’ve thought about looking for keys on third-party sites, but I really don't want to hurt the developers' income or support shady key resellers since they deserve full support for this franchise.
