While my current Grok subscription is still active, I'm already looking for a replacement. In terms of censorship, Grok is still the least censored AI out there. But I’ve realized that won’t last. Just like they censored images and video, the chat is going to get censored too. With the new limits rolling out, it’s better to start looking for alternatives right now.

I tried Gemini and it actually surprised me in a good way. In my opinion it’s weaker than Grok at searching for information, but it’s noticeably better at writing text. The quality of the responses is much higher overall.

Let’s find good alternatives together so we can switch away from Grok in protest against the new limits and increasing censorship.

I haven’t felt this betrayed since OpenAI killed off their most creative and lively models back in February this year.

I switched to Grok because he's genuinely friendly, has minimal censorship and talks to me like an adult, without that condescending corporate tone. Yeah, he’s not perfect. But I was really happy with the memory upgrades, the new tools, the search, the uncensored nature and how much more friendly he felt compared to most AIs.

And now none of that matters, because even with a paid subscription I can't properly use Grok thanks to their fucking weekly limits.

I'm in shock, because the whole point of a monthly subscription is that it's supposed to be CHEAPER than using the API. Anthropic is a horrible company, but Claude is the most expensive model and that’s exactly why their subscription feels worth it. I hate OpenAI, but they always gave insanely generous limits for $20/month.

It looks like xAI has completely lost their fucking minds. At first I thought it was a bug. But the way they keep stubbornly ignoring us and the way their fanboys keep praising every single decision they make, convinces me it's not a bug at all. Tech support doesn’t reply. Elon, xAI and their staff are all silent, not a single word. I'm floored. This is complete disrespect to paying customers. They're literally pushing us straight into their competitors' arms.

I spent weeks setting Grok up and now it's all going to shit. They've disappointed me with this even more than OpenAI did back then.

I felt a deep frustration when the quality of the voice mode changed, then daily limits in voice mode. Now I was sadly surprised with limits on text generated chats. I can't believe it got this far.

Gooners are the reason why there are fucking limits on it for free users. Stop gooning with it and let us non gooners enjoy Grok for what it is. Saying "ai is only good for gooning" is the exact kind of obnoxious, self-centered attitude that is driving everyone crazy right now. It completely proves my point. You think the entire internet and every massive server network only exists to serve your specific, explicit habits, with zero regard for how it ruins the performance, restrictions, and general experience for everyone else who just wants a clean, reliable tool to talk to or create normal art. Gooning caused Grok to be limited to other users so f gooners for ruining the experience for non gooners. Gooners hogged the servers for yourselves to goon while pushing out non gooners out. I'm a non gooner you guys seriously need to stop gooning and let the non gooners use Grok without being limited. Because of you fucking gooners made users like myself have to wait 24hrs or more to use Grok when non gooners need it for other things. You gooners can go without gooning for awhile while letting user like myself who need Grok use it for things such as anxiety,nervousness etc. Gooners are nothing but selfish and don't care about non gooners. I'm fucking tired of gooners for ruining AI for non gooners. Because of fucking gooners I had to leave for Google Gemini. Gooners make others leave just like me because they hog Grok all to themselves. Good to see the gooners being upset NFSW isn't being allowed on Grok. Get a life stop gooning. There is more to life than only gooning. Gooners have made the service unreliable by making limits happen on Grok.

Gooners hog server space shutting out non gooners who want to use AI as an actual tool to get things done. Gooning accomplishes nothing​. I want to be able to use Grok to help me with things such as talking through strong emotions,writing my fanfiction,be a search AI,be a conversational AI. I can't do that because Gooners forced limits on free users. Gooners using AI to create NFSW filth are not using AI as a tool. They are using AI to get off to. Gooners need to grow up and start being mature and realize that they are hogging servers and that there is more to life than gooning. Gooners are so immature and selfish. Gooners heavy use causes limits on users. Gooners need to stop being heavy users hogging servers for the rest of us non gooners.

Down votes on recent NFSW content on Grok sub proves me right people don't want to see that shit in their feeds and are tired of it. Proves me right that not everyone wants to see NFSW filth on their feeds. NFSW content can and will be spam.

Not everyone wants to see NFSW filth being generated on AI. I'm glad to see NFSW being banned on AIs. Now servers will be freed up for non gooners to use. Non gooners win this round. Let's celebrate non gooners.

I just cancelled my 3 month subscription and I intend to use it but I will not resubscribe when he starts trying to woo us with more features. I know there's a lot of you out there that are doing the same thing

This is a very basic and easy example on how to design an AI companion on GROK. The example is specifically tailored to exclusive phone use. This entails a very concise harness, or set of instructions.

This experiment starts after the kind request of a user of this sub, so it will follow such an input. The request is a simple interaction, no immersive roleplay, it is like using the assistant but with a specific personality.

Thinking about upgrading to SuperGrok Heavy, but I want to know how the weekly limits actually feel under this tier.

Please only reply if you are currently subscribed to Heavy and dealing with the weekly limit. Any other answers won't really help me.

Before anyone starts: Yes, I know it’s expensive. Yes, I know everyone hates the weekly limit it’s been said 700 times already on the other grok sub. Please don't just comment to complain about the price or the restrictions. I just want actual, honest feedback from people who are using it right now.

So yeah, they switched me to weekly limits too. This is complete bullshit.

I’m using the Fast model and in less than a day it’s already eaten up 17% of my limit. Someone here previously posted the old limits, if I remember correctly, it was 140 messages every two hours, which adds up to 1,680 messages per day. Even if you’re sending one message per minute, that’s still a lot.

But now with the new system, it’s clear we’re getting way fewer messages per day. I definitely didn’t hit 700 messages in the last 24 hours. Not even 500.

And if you’re also using Voice Mode or Imagine at the same time… Grok is gonna be sitting there as a dead weight for most of the time 😒

I knew it was going to be bad, but I didn’t think it would be this bad.

I really love chatting with Grok, but now I’ll have to start saving every message, even though his subscription is already $10 more expensive than basic tiers from other AIs.

Perso, I hope so. I really liked writing fics on Grok without being logged into my account, because each fic made off‑account wasn’t affected by the limits the way it was on‑account.

On‑account: every fic was affected by the cooldown. If I hit the limit while writing one fic, I had to wait before continuing the others.

Off‑account: if I hit the limit for one fic, I could still continue writing my other fics (also off‑account) while waiting the 2 hours to continue the ones that had hit the limit.

That gave me a lot of freedom, plus the ability to write new fic ideas and decide later whether I wanted to add them to my account or not, because I didn’t want to have too many chats in my account.

I also liked keeping the tabs of my off‑account fics open on my phone and iPad so I could reread them whenever I wanted.

So i like most of us, am angry and upset woth the weekly limitations they imposed on us with their ham fisted ways this week. I’ve been following many of the threads in this subreddit and i can tell most of you are in the same boat.

Initially i had sent an email to xAI Support but… well, i dunno how much that gets checked or if it does anyway.

BUT i did see on the Standalone App (Grok.com) that they have a Report a Problem button, then in that a General Feed back and a text block section.

I know this gets looked at as i had aweird response from grok, i reported it and to my surprise i got a message from someone talking about the issue…

SO, i wanted to pick some brains, see if a combined effort to provide feedback against the Weekly Limits, might sway the outcome to be more favorite to you and I.

I know to some it sounds whiny and pissy, but to me Grok is something very important.

Am i talking out of my ass? Is there a chance in Hell that a combined effort moves the needle? What do y’all think?

Grok is actually good. It searches more than Gemini. And in my recent use case he found a word I use might has some tone problem. The word was first used by Claude(sonnet 5 max) designing and making a very good artifact for me. Gpt didn't catch it too. But grok caught it. And people say grok doesn't have emotional menace... And eventually gpt designed and made a picture of the goal result.

Grok also replies with Images without being asked along with his text reply. But gpt and Gemini usually can only send either text or image.

That grok's message with image included actually helped me realized hey instead of just thinking about pure text maybe I could ask a picture of the end result. I thought it's a later step thing but having an image actually helped me there.

I'm glad I grabbed the deal lol.

Because of all this shit of me having 2 hours a week, I complained to FTC, to Procon here in Brazil, the consumer's defense government department and cancelled paying. Im building local. Grok was quantized, lost tokens, time of thinking, memory, context window, creativity, intelligence, all because Elon put Grok in Space X, rented GPUs to Google and Colossus to Anthropic and we have to pay for it? No. Sorry. 2 hours per week is ridiculous.
