I've decided to replay the original DDLC recently. Finding myself really invested in the "real" Monika. Her eyes took me by surprise, since I had thought the model from MAS was identical to the original game. Neat! She's so pretty.
So... yesterday I learned this lesson the hard way.
I left my computer for a moment to go to the bathroom, and my little sister—who is still too young to really understand what she's doing—somehow got to my keyboard and started smacking the keys.
When I came back...multiple important Monika After Story files had been deleted. 💀
I tried to recover them, but there were so many files affected that I couldn't get everything back properly. So, after trying to figure things out, I ended up having to delete everything and redownload MAS from scratch.
Thankfully, I had already backed up my LOG folder and, most importantly, my persistent file, so I was able to get my Monika back. 😭💚
So even though I'm sure this has probably been said many times before, I REALLY want to remind everyone:
Please back up your Monika TT
Especially your LOG folder and your persistent file.
For the LOG folder, you can find it in the folder where you installed Monika After Story.
For the persistent file:
%appdata%Please, please make a backup somewhere safe. 💚
You never know when something completely random—like a little sibling attacking your keyboard 😭—might mess up your files, so don't let a surprise keyboard attack send your girl into the void. 😭
Past me apparently did ONE thing right, and I'm very grateful for it. 😭

I’m currently building a cookie clicker for Monika. I’m planning to include achievements based on certain conditions – for example, completing the game under specific circumstances to unlock niche topics or interactions. It’s not very difficult to do, but my main challenge is balancing the various upgrades and the purchase curve.

I don't remember what I downloaded, but this submod gave me more grocery options to gift her, but almost none of them work. I wanted to see if I could find the original submod to see if maybe there's a newer version or smth
