Hot take 3: Thriller performances are very underwhelming

Hot take 3: Thriller performances are very underwhelming

Most thriller performances feel the same and the dancing in the zombie isn’t very high energy, especially in HIStory

What are the best sounding MJ shows instrumental and sound mix wise?

This can go for both the instrumental itself or simply just the sound mix as that heavily affects how each show sounds.

Big fan of Cologne 1997, even as an amateur recording it sounds absolutely amazing, Bremen May 31st has one of the best sounding snare on an MJ show, Basel 1997 is also up there as it has that same high snare. I also love Brisbane 1987, Oviedo 1992 and Moscow 1993.

Drop some real hot takes about MJ's performances

Real hot takes, not stuff like Wembley 88 overrated or HIStory Tour bad, some real Hot takes that would set not just casual fans on fire but even the elite MJ Performances enthusiats.

I'll drop mine: Bad Tour and HIStory Tour are even in terms of how good the vocals are, and I'll explain why. Bad Tour has an amazing beginning for the vocals, 1987 is inarguably the best period for MJ live vocals, however as we get to the first US leg it's a massive downhill, Kansas and NYC are good enough but he gets laryngitis shortly after in ST. Louis and afterwards he's always sick and strained vocally, like he only starts to recover vocally towards the end of the europe leg. So like August-September 1988, and by then his vocals are still strained from all the touring. Obviously there are gems like Cologne and Wembley July 22nd but it's mostly below what you'd expect, then he gets laryngitis again in the second US leg. Then the HIStory Tour has a really rough 1996 leg, it starts off fine enough, sounds really good from Moscow to Amsterdam, then he gets sick in Tunis-Seoul, sounding horrible on October 11th, but sounds pretty good on October 13th and Kaohsiung, the Kuala Lumpur shows, especially October 29th sounds really good, then in November it's just like March/April 1988 where MJ has laryngitis, and yea he sounds really rough until like Tokyo December 13th where he sounds really good again like Kuala Lumpur, then Fukuoka to Honolulu sounds really great and 1997 is consistently amazing, kinda like 1987, with the exception of the second Munich show. 1997 by all means has way better sounding vocals on average than 1988. 1996 is just a bit rougher than 1988. And 1989 is like at the same level as 1997. But 1987 is way better than 1997 and 1996 vocally. That's what makes it even.

Hot Take 2: The Dangerous Tour had the weakest vocals in all of the solo tours

Now don’t get this wrong, I love the Dangerous tour but in my opinion it does have the weakest vocals across the tours.

He sounds exhausted and out of breath in some songs like Human Nature, Billie Jean etc.

Jam and WBSS is probably the most exhausting songs to perform because of much movement there is and sometimes it worsen the vocals for the rest of the concert like Burcheast and half of the ‘93 leg (Plus sickness and allegations)

In the tour like HIStory where he’s used playback for like 70%of each concert, when he does sing halfway through or for the entire time, Its sounds better because he can save up his voice a little bit more and deliver some better vocals.

Meilleur performance Billie Jean

Bonjour a tous,

Merci d'avance !

Ranking months based on how good MJ‘s concerts are in those months (from worst to best)

12th. April (Shame because it’s my birthday month but it‘s definitely the weakest)

11th. February (unfair because there’s only 2 performances and because of that it sadly goes lower)

10th. September (this is really sad because the Tokyo nights in the bad tour are fantastic…then it just becomes ass afterwards, Prague-Moscow of HIStory, 30th anniversary, the whole month of 1993, Ostend etc. Drag this month down so hard)

9th. November (Not a lot of good concerts come from this month but this month gets absolutely carried by Brisbane and the second Auckland concert)

8th. March (the first couple of shows in NYC are really good and then it slowly gets worse)

7th. May (probably the most average month out of all of these, just nothing really notable came from it)

6th. August (as much as I like Copenhagen 14th and Gothenburg 1997, I can’t rank them higher than the other months especially with some of the weaker ones like Copenhagen 29th, Bremen 1992, Hockembelm (butchered the spelling) etc.)

5th. July (probably the most inconsistent month, there’s some hits like Basel, Copenhagen, Oslo, London 31st etc. but there’s some also weaker ones like Munich 6th, Wembely 16th, Vienna 2nd etc.)

4th. October (pretty solid month, there’s only a couple ones that are weaker but pretty good)

3rd. January (fantastic month with bangers like LA and Hololulu 3rd and 4th)

2nd. December (Near perfect month, It has absolute bangers like Brunei, Manila, Tokyo 1988 and 1992 but there is one month that beats it by just a bit)

1st. June (i’m pretty sure everyone here knows the peak run of June 1997 which almost has 0 below average or average shows, The two shows in 1992 etc. June is the BEST month for MJ performances)

30 Anniversary (Meta A.I)

And if Michael Jackson had played at Madison Square Garden with "Smooth Criminal" and "Another Part of Me", what would it be like? Here it is taken directly from an amateur shot

What was the set list & line-up for MSG 2001 30th Anniversary Concert?

I’ve heard from people who attended the concerts that the show lasted 4 hours.

The broadcast we have on YouTube (which is a mix of the two nights) is 1 hour 22 minutes.

Anyone can chime in with the artists and songs that were performed?

Thank you!

Best Scream performances?

I think the ones towards the end of June 1997 are generally the best ones, like Lyon and Paris, Milan and Cologne are also great and Basel too.

The opinion posts are on hiatus/might be cancelled

I considering deleting my account because I feel like I don’t belong on Reddit anymore after the last 24 hours, So I’m putting the opinion posts on hiatus, if not cancelled I don’t feel like talking about MJ in general on reddit anymore because I’ve been getting hate on most of my posts, so this might be goodbye.
