MSFS2024 crashing during cruise with no prompt as of why

Hello everyone!

I recently got a new computer with the current specs below, however I have not been able to do a successful flight yet with the simulator crashing somewhere between 40 minutes and 2 hours into cruise.

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 7 265KF (3.90 GHz)
Installed Ram: 32.0 GB (31.5 GB usable)
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti (16 GB)
Storage: 502 GB of 932 GB used
Edition: Windows 11 Home

All of my drivers are up to date and this is the event log from the MSFS2024 crash:

I've tried doing flights in different areas of the world and different types of airliners (A330, A321, 737, 747) and i have removed everything from my community folder, however the crashes keep on happening.

Does anyone know where I am going wrong with this and how to fix it? I've brought it back to the computer shop who made the computer and they've swapped out everypart and done multiple stess tests and all have passed, which makes me believe it is a software issue.

Thanks!

Why the Fokker 100 Systems Surprised Me - Analysis

What Fokker 100 Systems I Found the Most Interesting

So, with the help of Fokker 100 AOMs, I’ve been doing a deep dive into the systems. I’ve found (and am still learning) many interesting quirks that you simply can’t get from an addon manual. Here’s what I found interesting, which is helping me get the most out of my JF F100 addon.

I also made a video where I am going through the full cold and dark to landing sequence by the book. https://www.youtube.com/live/IlkMp-1tAQ0?si=GzBVZuSrN7KR1k_G

APU**:** The systems are actually very modern and smart. The APU page is automatically presented when the start selector is positioned from OFF to ON. After approx. 2 minutes at operating speed, bleed air will be available. Interesting to note that, inflight, the APU can supply electrical power only.

AFCS: Very similar to the A300-600 in terms of nomenclature such as PROF for VNAV and even map modes. The Pull/Push buttons for speed, HDG, and ALT are very much like the MD-11. Furthermore, LVL change mode is activated automatically when the altitude knob is pulled, provided no other mode is selected.

FMA: The subscripts like IAS_E, IAS_T are fascinating – it tells you whether your IAS or Mach is being controlled by the Elevator (e.g., LVL change mode) or by Thrust (e.g., in a V/S Climb).

Standby Panels: Quite a unique cockpit layout equipped even with standby Engine Instrument panels and Warning Panels.

Get rid of Trailer-like intro each startup of FS2024?

Hello. I am so, so tired of seeing these graphics load every time. I wish there was an option to not see anything else but the bar when things are loading, or maybe just a "FS2024" Text. I dont need to see these intro graphics, videos etc...

Any fast load, like for FS2020, but for FS2024? =)

Is this normal?: Quest 3 + MSFS 2024

Hi all.

I'm setting up my Quest 3 with MSFS 2024 using link cable.

My PC specs are: 9800x3d, 5080, 32GB RAM.

I have set my horizon app resolution to 1.5 and 72 fps, and have turned most settings in the game to medium / low, with TLOD and OLOD at 100.

I have DLSS enabled and have locked my Fps to 36.

When I run the game with the Oculus Debug Tool Fps overlay it says my PC 'headroom' is hovering around -20 to -40 %. And I seem to be losing a lot of frames.

I seem to be getting a fairly steady 36 fps but there are a lot of stutters.

Does this performance sound normal for my PC specs? Anything I can do to remedy it?

Thanks.

FS2024 needs more lights at default airports.

Is there a way to get more lights at night at the default airports? They are always so dark. Not what I have seen in real life. (I'm talking about major and secondary (smaller) airports)

Is the PMDG 737-800 worth it?

I was considering buying this plane but considering that it’s 75 dollars I wanted some input before purchasing. From what I have seen it seems to be my best option especially on Xbox considering that the 737 MAX has yet to have all of its bugs fixed. However if anyone has any other recommendations I would love to hear them.

MSFS2024 7900 XTX vs 5070Ti ?

MSFS2024

i5-14600K

DDR4 32 Gb

3 monitors x (2560 x 1440)

I’m choosing between an Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti and an AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX!

I don’t use a frame generator. Native resolution only.

Which one should I choose?

Title: Horrible performance in MSFS 2024 after upgrading from 13700K to 9800X3D (VRAM/ SYS RAM maxed out, 10-15 FPS)

Hi everyone,
I recently swapped out some parts in my rig and encountered a massive performance issue with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
Old Specs:
CPU: i7-13700K
GPU: RTX 4080
RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000MHz
With this setup, I was running the game at 4K Ultra settings + Frame Generation. Performance was pretty good, though the frame rate was constantly limited by mainthread.
To see if I could improve the 1% lows and mainthread bottlenecks, I borrowed a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and an X870E motherboard from a friend.
After swapping them in, the performance became an absolute disaster. I'm now getting only 10-15 FPS. Both my system RAM and VRAM are completely maxed out (100% usage). All in-game settings (resolution, graphics presets) remain identical to before.
Has anyone experienced anything similar or knows what might be causing this?
Thanks in advance for the help!

FS24 get stuck at 25% loading, then after X minutes continues...

This has been going on for about a month now.

How to get the sim to load normal? Tried to remove stuff from my Community folder, and also sync time etc - but nothing seem to help.

The sim also seem to "forget" my live time settings etc. I have to set it back almost (not always) every time. It goes back to "preset". Howcome?

What more? Well, when quitting - it takes a very long time for the sim to fully quit (after getting out from sim to desktop). The FS24 icon seem active.

Something is off. =/

I built a free tool that picks a flight for you based on your mood and how much time you have

EDIT — thank you all 🙏
Genuinely did not expect this response. Quick context: I’m an international student and I built this in a single day, so it’s rough around the edges — and you all found them fast 😅 Biggest one: the flight times and distances are off right now (it’s estimating instead of calculating). That’s my #1 fix.
Here’s what’s coming over the next few days, all from your feedback:
• Accurate flight times (calculated from real distance + aircraft speed)
• Airport pairs that actually match your chosen time
• More time options (3–5 hr, proper long-hauls)
• Better “copy route” flow for console/cloud players who can’t load files
• Weather/season options (later)
Keep the feedback coming — it’s literally writing the roadmap. Thank you all for trying it 🛫

I kept opening MSFS, staring at the world map, and having no idea where to fly — especially when I only had like 30-45 minutes. So I built a little tool to fix it for myself.

You pick how much time you have, a vibe (scenic mountains, coastal, city skylines, bush/remote), and an aircraft type — and it gives you one flight: departure + destination, a route on a map, cruise altitude, est. time, and a proper briefing of what you'll actually see along the way.

It's free, no signup, no ads. You can copy the route straight into the world map, or download a .pln if you're on a PC install.

Built it solo and would genuinely love feedback — what's broken, what'd make it more useful, and the best route it's given you. flight-seven-black.vercel.app

Is 2024 worth investing money into now? Or is it still buggy? (For helos mostly)

I have 2020 and mostly was liking the bell 407 because im a big helo fan. I like the seat of your pants style of flying (not a fan of sitting behind autopilot for a flight)

Is 2024 worth getting for my style of play?

confused after getting the Free cities upgrades from Marketplace.

Ok so im new to this first of all. I went into Marketplace and see there are free upgrades for certain cities and countries like Germany Japan Australia US World Updates etc etc. When i go to acquire them for free it adds them to my account but how does it work? Do they automatically stream when im fly over the places? or do i need to download and install them? or enable them somehow? The NEtherlands World update says disabled. What am I supposed to do with all these?

I'm on Clear Skies preset. Do mountains have gusts? Is this altitude too high? I've noticed some other planes over flat terrain doing this on Clear Skies as well though.

Long Range flights

I am playing FS in career mode on an xbox and wondered if there are any trans-atlantic/trans-continental flights on offer that can’t be handled by a 737 and require an A330 or something.

I currently have a small fleet of 737s (which I love flying) and was wondering if getting a long range Airbus would give me access to more missions. Any insight would be welcome

KONT terrain issues.

Hi everyone,

Recently, I was attempting a takeoff from **Runway 26R at KONT** in the **PMDG 737-800 on Xbox**, and I encountered what appears to be an issue with the runway surface.

During the takeoff roll, I hit **two noticeable bumps**. The first was minor and didn’t have much effect, although it definitely wasn’t normal. The second bump was much more severe—it caused me to lose a significant amount of speed and veer off the runway, making a safe takeoff impossible.

I’ve experienced this issue with **both the default KONT scenery and the paid FeelThere KONT scenery**, so I’m wondering if it’s related to the simulator itself rather than the airport add-on.
Has anyone else experienced this?

If so, are there any known fixes or updates planned to address it?
Thanks for reading, and I appreciate any information you can share!

Controls for autopilot, heading, altitude, nav

So after not really using flight simulator 2020, and getting flight simulator 2024 some time ago, I finally had some time to use it.

I have done some of the career missions using two ursa minor fighter joysticks, the left one is angled. I think I got it years ago to use on space sims. I have a throttle base in a box somewhere.

I wanted to get into using autopilot and nav. I have seen some people mentioning stream deck as a controller. Is that a decent option for hdg, alt, and maybe vertical and horizontal trim or radio? I think radio switches to the appropriate channel in career mission, it's just a confirm button.

I am a software and embedded engineer, so I had another idea of making a keyboard/controller with a few knobs, but don't know if it's necessary if stream deck can do the job. Are people satisfied with the stream deck? any issues?

Sketch of what I had in mind,
