Sorry to make this rant but im thinking of selling getting rid of all the pc handhelds for the x20 or just have nothing at all.

I tried messing with my claw 8 ai to give me a hint of what my new incoming claw 8 ex ai will be like and trying to use m center reminded me why I hate it. With m center and updating bios and I had to restart like 5 times to get rid of the rgb glitches. So im worried the claw 8 ex ai will be the same.

Legion go 2... heavy and unsupported hate how the back buttons are placed. I always feel tired of holding it how I keep hitting the back buttons which makes me not want to assign hotkeys.

Oxp and gpd win as soon as I convince myself to buy it I fear of rma and how they release new stuff all the time. I just really do not want something i have to ship from overseas back and forth.

Acer predator atlas 8..... maybe idk acer in laptops didnt impress me with build quality.

So that leaves asus x20 but its 24 gb ram instead of 32 gb. And its 7.4 in instead of 8 or 8.8 on which I prefer.

Should I just be done with all pc handhelds till next gen? Did they fix these UI issues on the claw 8 ex? Which should I keep?

Got both of these in hand now. I ran a character to the first main quest hub in the Undead starting zone. I used the exact same character in the exact same spot, just logging out of one device and into the other so the view is perfectly 1:1.

I let the game sit for 3 minutes so the FPS and TDP could level out before recording the results.

Both devices are fresh off a factory reset on default plug-and-play settings. The only thing I changed was matching the XAX's TDP presets on the Claw.

Game settings: 5
Resolution: Native (Claw: 1920x1200 | XAX: 1920x1080)

35W: XAX 57 FPS | Claw 94 FPS (Claw is ~65% faster)
25W: XAX 55 FPS | Claw 81 FPS (Claw is ~47% faster)
17W: XAX 52 FPS | Claw 66 FPS (Claw is ~27% faster)
13W: XAX 45 FPS | Claw 57 FPS (Claw is ~27% faster)

I've seen a couple of similar threads and decided to post one myself as I was tirelessly looking for posts that could re-affirm my bad spending habits. All jokes aside I've been pleasantly surprised with the device if we exclude the annoying hiccups with m center from time to time.

I got this at around 850 euro not sure if it was bargain or not but it was pretty much the only option I had in terms of handhelds in my country (aside from the legion go 2 - almost 1700 euro which yeah I'm not spending that much ) let me tell ya I'm glad I went for it!

As I'm an avid WoW player decided to try some classic on the device and the experience is awesome it's almost like I'm playing an entirely new game.

Overall, if you're like me and you're on the fence go for it, the 8 inch is another positive for me, very immersive!

I welcome any tips anyone might have but even if I have to continue as is I'd be fine really as the experience has been pretty smooth so far^^

I have 2 questions and one of them might be a bit dumb but bear with me. Does playing plugged to a charger help with battery preservation really? And where do you guys Shop for accessories like screen protectors and whatnot?

I’ve read the optimization it’s quite bad for handheld in Crimson Desert, so decided to just remote play and let my Xbox do the heavy lifting on this one. Was better than I expected.

Hi everyone. I’m having a strange firmware issue with my
MSI Claw 8 AI+ A2VM (MS-1T52) and I’m hoping someone here has seen this before or knows of a recovery method.

My Claw is currently stuck on BIOS E1T52IMS.10B. I’m trying to update to the newer BIOS, currently .114, but every method I’ve tried fails.

The device itself still boots into Windows and generally works, but I found several things that make me suspect something is wrong with the Intel CSME/ME/platform firmware state.

Here’s everything I’ve found so far:
Current BIOS: E1T52IMS.10B
EC version: 1T52EMS1.104
BIOS itself shows ME FW Version: 0.0.0.0
Intel CSME Version Detection Tool shows ME Version: Unknown / detection error
Microsoft Pluton security processor #1 and #2 are both present but show Code 10: “This device cannot start. The requested operation was unsuccessful.”
Their PCI IDs are DEV_A862 / DEV_A863
Running MSI’s current Intel ME firmware updater gives:
Error 20: Cannot locate ME device.
Windows BIOS update/FLASHWIN successfully stages the .114 firmware and reboots, but the actual BIOS never updates
Registry firmware status after the failed update shows:
LastAttemptStatus = 0xC0000001 / STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL
LastAttemptVersion correctly shows 0x114
MSI’s in-BIOS updater can recognize/start the update process but then gives:
ERROR!!!! Flash update failed to initialize. Press any key to reset system
The other in-BIOS update path rejects the .CAP file with:
Failed, Wrong Image format 11!
I have tried BIOS 10A, intermediate BIOS versions, and 114
I enabled Allow BIOS Downgrade when testing older BIOS versions
I have already performed an EC reset
Loaded BIOS defaults
Reinstalled Windows completely
Updated MSI Center M
Windows Update has no relevant Intel/ME firmware updates available
Uninstalling/re-detecting the Pluton devices does not fix Code 10
Intel ME driver/Management Engine Components installer says:
This platform is not supported.

I also tried the official MSI ME firmware updater just to see whether it could communicate with the ME. It did not flash anything; FWUpdLcl64 immediately stopped with Error 20: Cannot locate ME device.

MSI’s current ME firmware package says the latest BIOS should be installed first, but that creates a catch-22 because I cannot update the BIOS while the flash process itself refuses to initialize.

At this point I’m wondering whether the CSME/ME firmware region is stuck, corrupted, in recovery state, or otherwise not initializing, and whether that is also preventing the BIOS flash engine from starting. I’m not certain of that diagnosis, though.

Has anyone with a Claw 8 AI+ / Lunar Lake seen:
ME FW 0.0.0.0 + Pluton/HECI Code 10 + Error 20 Cannot locate ME device + BIOS flash failed to initialize?
More importantly, is there an official or known recovery procedure short of sending it to MSI? For example, an older Claw-specific ME recovery package, MSI crisis recovery method, service BIOS, or another safe way to recover the CSME/BIOS firmware?

I am not looking to cross-flash another model’s firmware or blindly use AFU/CH341A, since the Claw still boots and I don’t want to turn a firmware-update problem into a brick.
I’ve already opened a ticket with MSI as well. I can post screenshots of the ME 0.0.0.0, Code 10, Error 20, 0xC0000001, and Flash update failed to initialize messages if useful.
