Ok so this is my first 3D printer and went with the Bambulab X2D ams2 pro combo. Everything is working fine and I decided to set it to auto calibration.

I normally always do this after a few prints. Well one night I set it to auto calibration through the phone app and while I wait I fire up my PC for some gaming. I hear a loud slam from my printer and scratching noise. I rush to the printer and find the textured plate scratched.

I freak out and take the plate off and try to examine if everything still looks ok since I’m a newbie and did not research this prior to owning a printer.

I flipped the texture plate over on the one good side and ran a test print and everything seems to be working normal now. I then reached out to support and provided logs on the issue and their response was

“we believe that this phenomenon may have been an occasional occurrence, possibly caused by abnormal homing data or by the hotend not being securely fixed in place.”

They are going to send me a new textured plate as a gesture of good will just one time they said since warranty doesn’t cover build plates.

So my question is do I need to periodically check the hot end to make sure it’s not randomly loose because I have never taken it apart since owning. How often should I calibrate the printer because now im terrified of running a calibration.

My customer front grill panel from Zcooi arrived for my T1 case. Also decided to show it off with the top T grill from FormD. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but still wanted to show off what it looked like.

Looking to sell my steam deck Oled 2TB model since I recently upgraded to a different handheld.

Was pretty happy with the build and the E white looks even better in person. Wanted to downsize my wife’s workstation to give her more desk space since she is having to use a laptop in conjunction with her PC. First thing she told me was “It looks like a storm trooper.” So I didn’t know if that was a compliment but I ran with it anyways!

Selling my legion Go S Z1E 32gb model. Battery health is 100% and it comes with the Dbrand Killswitch and travel cover. Moved to a different handheld so no longer needed.

Unboxing the NCase M3 orange for my first time. Unable to do a build this week since it’s the end of the school year being a father and balancing work. Still didn’t stop me from taking a peek in the present box.
