Looking for advice and after reading some reports sounds like I'm in for a month of fighting with Formd to do anything.

Is the Standoff Mod and swapping case fans worth it for an already completed build?

Hello everyone,

My FormD T1 build is already fully assembled and up and running. I am currently debating whether it is worth tearing the system down to install the Standoff Mod and, while I'm at it, swapping out my current fans for better ones.

Here are my current specs:

  • CPU: Ryzen 7 9800x3d
  • GPU: Asus prime rtx 5080 oc
  • Motherboard: Asus rog b850-I gaming wifi
  • CPU Cooler: Be Quiet! Silent Loop 3 240
  • Current Fans: Arctic p12 slim and a Be Quiet silent wing

Since my PC is already built, doing this would mean quite a bit of extra teardown and rebuild effort. I would love to get some feedback on these points:

  • Impact on CPU, GPU & Motherboard: Does the standoff mod (creating space between the back of the motherboard and the GPU) show a measurable drop in temperatures or fan noise for these components?
  • Swapping Fans: Is it worth swapping my current fans for high-end options Like the Noctua NF-A12x25 G2 PWM chromax.black and the slim varriant? Does it make a noticeable difference in noise levels and overall airflow inside the T1?
  • Is it worth the hassle?: Looking back, would you say it's worth taking apart a perfectly working system for the standoff mod and a fan upgrade, or are the improvements too minor?

I would really appreciate your honest opinions and experiences to help me decide if I should go through with the teardown.

Thank you!
