Cooler Master Atmos II

Anyone using the Cooler Master Atmos II in their FormD T1 build? I'm planning an E-White build in the next month with this AIO cooling a 9950x3d.

If so, can you share some pics and/or any issues you may have encountered. I know the Atmos Stealth was all the rage (mine actually leaked) so I'm weary about that but I like the look of the Atmos II.

New Steam Machine

I built this because I was tired of seeing the Steam Machine rip everyone off for the money so I built my own in what I believe is the best bang for buck.

My view is that a Steam Machine is generally a Living Room console and a lot of folks have 4k TVs today...maybe not PC monitors but certainly 4k tvs are very popular and that's what I have so it makes sense to have something that can actually deliver a great experience in 4k.

My TV in my office is a LG C4 Oled 65" 120hz so I built this specifically for that res/refresh rate & the games I wanted to play from my couch. For me that is no competitive shooters, etc. Games that are really built for experience with a controller from the couch.

Another part was the software, which I stuck with Windows 11 Pro with the new Xbox mode. This was the simplest setup for all the upscaling technologies and gaming apps outside of Xbox and Steam. Xbox mode scanned and brought in all my games from every gaming app with one shot, no special this and special that, they just work. Now, is it as smooth as an experience like SteamOS or Bazzite..etc..no. But it's not bad and the compatibility with everything is the biggest win for me. This thing rips all the games I play at 4k some requiring FS4 but nothing beyond quality mode.

System:

  • FormD T1 Black 2.1 w/Eiga custom fan brackets & T30s
  • MB: Asus x670i-e w/GPU riser lock bar.
  • CPU: 7500x3d cooled by Thermalright AXP90-53 w/SMHeintz 4070/Nidec Fan Kit
  • KLEVV DDR5 6000 CL32 w/Custom Black Zcool RAM Heatsinks
  • 4TB Samsung 990 Pro NVMe SSD
  • Asus Prime Evo RX9070 OC w/FormD T1 Travel Kit
  • Cooler Master V850 SFX w/gray Parachord custom cables from DreamBigByRay on Etsy

Who says that you can't have expansion with ITX - End Game SFF Workstation

Every year I feel like I go back and forth with my primary workstation from ATX/mATX to ITX and back and forth. I'm an ITX guy at heart, have been for years but then I see the expandability I cant get with mATX or ATX and I move to that only to realize that I hate having a PC that size near or on my desk, can't stand it actually (who knows, maybe it's OCD).

Anyway, I was in a search for the ultimate ITX workstation build. One that would not be bound by normal SFF limitations in connectivity or storage and I finally found my end-game.

First, the mainboard had to not only be ITX but offer expandability. Now I know those two don't go together but I found it in the Maxsun B850 BKB. Let's break down the connectivity this board has:

Two m.2 NVMe Slots (Gen5 an Gen4)

x16 Gen5 PCI-e slot AND x4 Gen4 PCI-e slot. The x16 slot is located on the back.

2 x SATA slots AND SFF-8654 slot

For connectivity two USB-C (20 and 10GBs) & 8 x Rear USB

2.5GB NIC/Wifi6E/Bluetooth

Now, I know what you're thinking. If I decide to use all this I won't have enough PCI-E lanes for full speed support and you'de be right, you can't get around the useable 24 lanes but that's really not going to matter for my use case. Let's get into the build:

I'm a huge fan of Xikii cases. Yes they are expense and i've owned two and loved them but I was waiting for the ITX case with excellent airflow and expandability and was designed around this board's capability.

Silver Xikii FFV08 V2 w/Enhance 7660b 600w PS and custom cables

Motherboard: Maxsun B850 BKB ITX

CPU: Ryzen 9900x 12Core/24 Threads w/Thermalright XP90-47 Copper (105w limited for heat)

RAM: 64GB Kit (2 x 32GB) Teamgroup Tcreate DDR5 6400

Storage: 4TB Samsung 990 Pro, 2TB Samsung 9100, 2 x 1TB Crucial P3s and 1.92TB Samsung SATA SSD.

GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4000 SFF w/custom Copper Block replacement

AIC: Synology E10M20-T1 2 x NVMe and 10GbE NIC & PCIe-x4 riser 180.

OS: This was a huge change for me and will be my daily going forward. I selected Ubuntu 26.04 Resolute Racoon and I was pleasantly surprised how good it is for a workstation OS out of the box.

I found that if it wasn't natively supported that there were some apps out there that are getting me by. 95% of what I need/use is natively supported anyway but this gives me what I always wanted. A powerful, small form factor, elegant, workstation with massive expansion, 10GbE running an a extremely powerful and elegant opensource OS.

New Cooj SF5 Build

I love this case and I absolutely love the Noctua AIO so even though they don't necessarily go together I thought it came out ok for the first time modding. Hindsight, I didn't take into account that the cooler pump head actually gets bigger vertically towards the base so it's a bit snug, I may go back and clean it up for more room. Gives me great performance at a "reasonable" price point (whatever that means these days) and is very portable and gets good temps. FYI, on paper the Cooj SF5 states it won't support the radiator + fan thickness, not true there is room left over. It's just the pump head that's to tall.

Cooj SF5 w/custom modded panel

Corsair SF1000

Asus B850-I

9800x3d

32GB Vcolor ROG RAM DDR5 6000 CL30

Crucial T705 2TB/Crucial P310 4TB

Asus Prime RTX 5070TI

Noctua NL-LC1-24 AIO

Question on modifying PC Case Panel

I just purchased the Cooj SF5 case and had planned to use the new Noctua 240mm AIO. I knew based on the cooler pump height that the side panel would not fit so I had planned to cut the side panel to fit exactly over the pump head so the panel could go on and only the pump head would protrude slightly out of the case. I also planned on putting a rubber seal around the inside of the hole to protect the head from scratches in case it touched it.

Two questions I have. I already measured and traced out the hole on the case panel. It is wired mesh panel and now I have to cut it. Put tape on there both sides and traced out the cut. Now I need to know the best way to cut the whole and where I would find a "rubber gasket" that I can put inside the whole.

Not really a big PC modder, was just looking for some advice.

Thanks.

[USA-NY][H]Several HSFs, 3 x ITX Cases, Mint Lenovo Legion Go S SteamOS, [W] PayPal, Local Cash

I have the following from my big end of summer cleanout. All items are mint and used sparingly in a clean, smoke free environment. I'm not looking for any trades other than a White or Pine Thor-zone Tetra S with walnut front. Multiple item purchases will get additional discount. The HSF's all have been used so probably no thermal paste left but all mounting hardware, accessories in retail box.

First up is a mint Legion Go S and when I say mint, I mean it looks brand new, and part of that reason is because I used it maybe three times. No, there is no screen cover because it went right back into the box, just didn't have time to use it like I thought so it is practically new. Comes with everything that it comes with in retail box.
