Before, I wasn’t someone who liked the sound of electric guitars, I was more into pop or R&B with simple instrumentation. In my mind, distorted electric guitars were synonymous with heavy metal, but one day, while doom scrolling through youtube, I came across a video of someone sitting on the beach, and I gradually began to appreciate guitar distortion. Eventually, I discovered the harmony of electric guitars while exploring Takanaka’s albums, Although, to be honest, I prefer the calmer side of Takanaka’s guitar such as “Citron Vender” or “Moon Rose,” etc., compared to the rough distortion. The most memorable tracks are “黒船 嘉永6年6月4日” or “Alone” (which is a bit more calm).

I literally couldn’t find a scan of this ANYWHERE on the internet so I scanned it with my printer myself. I thought other people might want this image of takanaka standing since it’s kind of like an alternate cover for the album. Did a touch of editing work to get rid of the text

Hey all, now I know this is not entirely Takanaka related but she knows how much I love big T and specifically the rainbow goblins, which I have owned on vinyl since the restocks . When I first told her about the album a whiiiiileeeeeee ago I mentioned that it was based off of a book, and that I really wanted to own the rainbow goblins book.

Well, she remembered and look at these beauties together.

I missed the repress. The cheapest place that I found in Europe was 50€. Does anyone know a place in Europe where I can get a cheaper price . Thanks

Just wanted to share that I finally picked up my first Masayoshi Takanaka record, An Insatiable High.

I got into this album because I’m a huge Lee Ritenour fan, and finding out he, Harvey Mason, Abraham Laboriel, and Patrice Rushen played on it made me want to hear.

I wasn’t expecting Takanaka’s guitar to remind me so much of Lee’s early solo records.

Happy to have this one in my collection.

I don’t know why “Epidarius no Kaze” hasn’t caught people’s attention (hasn’t been highlighted enough); in my opinion, this song might be one of Takanaka’s best works, especially since Takanaka’s performance of this song in ’86 was truly at the peak of his career.

Since they've gotten his first 13 albums out of the way I would love to see these pressed for the first time/repressed. Do you guys think they would ever press these/repress them?

Just got my copy, sounds super clean, no pops or noise, first time it was released in vinyl format.
