Timeline Cleanse

I know there are quite a few things people didn’t like about season 2, and honestly some of the criticism is completely valid. But in my opinion, the season wasn’t all bad, and I know I’m not the only one who feels that way.

For one, I really loved the scene where Ruby meets James in his bedroom for the first time in episode 1. I genuinely think that was one of the strongest acting performances from both of them all season, and the cinematography in that scene was beautiful.

I also loved their little walk after the white party, with Percy slowly following behind them. The whole moment felt so calm, natural, and intimate.

Another scene I really enjoyed was when James comes into Ruby’s room for the first time and they finally reunite. That scene just reminded me why I enjoy their relationship so much in the first place.

The disappointment over certain storylines and decisions is completely understandable, but I still think there were a number of moments throughout the season that were genuinely enjoyable. I’m curious to hear what scenes or parts of the season you all liked too.

Are the books worth it?

Hello everyone! I just binged season one and season two of Maxton Hall on Amazon Prime and just found out that it’s based off three books. I really enjoyed both seasons of the show (I’m easy to please) and was wondering if the books are worth the read? Going through this thread it seems that people are very opinionated and either love or hated but for someone who is easy to please I was just wondering if I should read the books and if I would enjoy them? Is there the same tension in the books like there is in the show? Any help is appreciated!

Maxton Haul Season 2 was such a RAGEBAIT!!

I just finished watching season 2 episode 6 and i just feel so frustrated. Each individual's story is written awfully and is constantly trying to compete with someone else's. The emotions expressed dont feel natural. James's dad is cruel, i agree, but the writers cant just change the whole story (oxford scholarship, bakery, ruby with Sutton etc) and just end up saying that this too was done by his dad. There should have been a backstory, maybe showing how his dad did what he did, everything is being presented to the audience as a shocker. I understand how plot twists work, but just because the writers had too many of them, it doesn't mean that they'll take away screen time that could have helped the viewer's understand the story to just fit in 10 plot twists in one episode. There is a reason the books have a web series full of seasons, why not just write clearly so that people actually understand?

The ending was so stupid, i cant express in words how angry i am. Every time a weird cliffhanger? Promoting or wanting viewers to continue being interested for the next season makes complete sense, but twisting story lines to fit in a cliffhanger is so messed up. They are not only ruining James and Ruby's story but also the reputation of their other characters like Lexington, Alice, Sutton etc.

i loved season 1 but right now, im so disappointed.

Anyone who can suggest me a show that is well written and light college based? I really want to move on to another show as being pissed at Maxton haul for too long would make me hate the characters i genuinely adore, and i dont want that

Show vs Book

I started watching Maxton Hall before the books were released in English, but I just finished watching season 2 and can’t stand the cliff hanger ending so I want to read the books. I need to know how different the two really are especially with them being translated. And are the books better? Thanks!!🫶🏼

I can’t stand Ruby crying so much

I just started Season 2 and Ruby is crying again about James betraying her. She spent so much of last season crying about the same thing and crying when people would bully her at school.

I wish she’d grow a backbone and dish it out back to everyone. I want more of that moment when she read James to filth in the first episode and for her to just read the girls that make fun of her back. She’s clearly got a fire in her. If that side of her came out more in the series, it would make her emotional moments more vulnerable. But instead the whole show really just comes off as her sulking most of the time.

And yet, I’m still hooked on this show. I hope Ruby gets a glow up moment and James gives an actual apology down the road.

Maxton Hall Season 2 Was Really Disappointing (Spoilers Ahead)

I had high expectations for the Maxton Hall TV series, especially after the disappointment of the Culpa movies (Your Fault and Our Fault). I anticipated a well-written story with solid chemistry between the co-stars, which thankfully was present. However, the execution fell short.

While the chemistry was evident, it was only briefly showcased. The narrative shifts occurred so rapidly that it hindered our ability to fully grasp the emotional depth of the characters and understand their motivations. For instance, Ruby’s heartbreak felt rushed. We see James kiss another girl, and suddenly Ruby is running out of the party, already halfway through crying by the time she’s home, only to be picked up by someone we don’t even know. This swift transition robbed her of the chance to authentically express her feelings.

The actors can’t display their full emotional range when they’re not given the time to do so. It’s frustrating to see such potential underutilized.

S3 Premiere

Hey guys! I know he have no clue when S3 will premiere but I have been saving all of the money I can to fly to Germany and go to the premiere when it happens. Ps: I’m from Brazil. I want to ask anyone who has been to the season 2 premiere how they made it. I know they invited lots of fans, and raffled tickets as well. I know some influencers from Brazil were invited but also just regular fans. I’d appreciate any tips.
