Looking for 8-10 writers

I'm looking for writers who write somewhat consistently (blog posts, non-fiction, short stories, etc.) to try out a writing app and provide candid feedback - as a thank you, you'll have free access once it launches if you're interested in having it.

The app is designed to have a "writing room" feel, with different ways to draft, edit and plan, as well as a place to keep your notes, ideas and different pieces that might be at different stages together.

It isn't designed for fiction novels. If you're interested, leave me a comment or send me a msg, and I'll DM you a link!

I started a medium publication and I can't seem to grow it?

I started a medium publication and I can't seem to grow it.

So it's a tech related publication and so far all the followers and writers are friends and people I know. But I want to add new writers. Is there anything I can do to onboard genuine writers and grow followers?

Why Was Sex Made So Irresistible?

What if sexual desire is not just about reproduction - but also one of the mechanisms that keeps souls attached to the material world?

What Happens When a Happy Person Takes Ayahuasca?

The largest randomized psychedelic trial in history happened in Brazil. Its strangest finding isn’t about ayahuasca at all.

I built a sales bot that broke because someone replied with 👍

I thought I had handled the obvious cases.

Lead comes in → AI qualifies them → bot responds → sales team takes over when needed.

Then someone replied with a single 👍.

And my bot completely misunderstood the conversation.

That sent me down a rabbit hole around something I hadn't really considered while building the system: humans don't communicate in structured inputs.

A message like:

“👍”

could mean:

yes

got it

sounds good

I'm interested

I'm ending the conversation

I'm just acknowledging your message

The LLM wasn't necessarily the problem. The bigger problem was how I had designed the conversation state and escalation logic around it.

I wrote up the whole incident, including what broke, why it broke, and what I changed afterwards.

Would love to hear from people building AI sales/support agents: what's the weirdest real-world user input that broke your system?

I wrote the full post here:

Is it a bug or is it bots?

Couple days ago, suddenly i got almost 180 views in a single day across multiple of my stories with like a singular read. Keep in mind i only have like 20 followers and the most views i had in a day was like 50 and that was with lots of reads with it. Has that happened to anyone else and any idea what is it?

Heartfailure Blog

Hey, I have started a blog for living life as a first time dad in his late twenties with an early stage heartfailure diagnosis.

The purpose of the blog is to help grieve my diagnosis and process my own thoughts by putting them down on 'paper'. If I can help one or two people along the way then this will be even more of a success to me.

If you know anyone with heartfailure this may help, or if you think it will help yourself then please take a look at this.

My first blog post covers the process of being diagnosed, how i felt upon recieving my diagnosis and how I now plan to accept these new changes. This may help someone similar understand what they may face if they are currently chasing a diagnosis.

Thank you :)

HI

I'm a new blogger. I just published my first article! https://medium.com/activated-thinker/embrace-your-highly-sensitive-nature-bf15daf823b5

It feels good so far, although I don't know if I'm doing good. I would really appreciate it if I could just get feedbacks on the article or general tips for new comers!

I noticed that the stats say something like external and internal traffic sources... I haven't shared it anywhere (except here now). I'm wondering if it is necessary? Am I supposed to advertise the article...

Thanks!

Where do you get stuck in the writing process?

For those of you who write regularly - particularly essays, newsletters, blog posts, longer-form nonfiction, etc. - I'm curious about something.

What part of the writing process do you find most challenging, or experience the most friction around?

Besides coming up with what to write about, are there particular points in your writing where you tend to get stuck, lose momentum, procrastinate, or find it harder to keep going?

Basically curious which parts of writing present the most friction for you (getting started, drafting, developing an idea, returning to something unfinished, revising, editing, finishing, etc.)

Is modern AI sentient, or are we falling for the ELIZA Effect on a grander scale?

When Richard Dawkins spent 72 hours conversing with Claude, he struggled to believe it wasn't conscious. OpenAI’s retirement of GPT-4o sparked genuine grief among users who felt they lost a companion. But are these systems actually sentient?

History shows human beings are exceptionally easy to fool when a machine performs human-like tricks:

  • In 1966, ELIZA used basic keyword matching to flip words into questions, leading people to confide intimate secrets.
  • In 1998, Furby was marketed as computer intelligence that learned English, even though language was on an internal timer.
  • In 2011, IBM Watson was praised for "understanding" language when running statistical confidence checks.

Modern AI models process trillions of text tokens to master next-token prediction. While researchers have found internal structures called "functional emotions" that tweak outputs, this is engineered behavior, not real feeling.

AI is a brilliant piece of technology, but its "sentience" is a performance. The danger isn't that machines feel—it's that we act as though they do.

How long did it take for your articles to start showing up in search results, and did Medium actually help with SEO?

Medium Partner Program

Hii!! I’m new to freelancing side of writing and I recently joined Medium & began posting. Got enrolled in the MPP last month and have been consistently posting throughout.

I guess my reach is limited as I am a new account but one thing I have noticed is, how my hard work to actual money conversion ratio on there is basically outrageous. And as someone who is looking for a good side income (currently unemployed & desperately in need of a flexible remote setup) this feels like a journey I’m not going to benefit from much.

But I hear that people do make good money on there, not consistent, but for me, a good 200-300$ will do too. Right now? I made 0.83$ from my 5 articles I have posted over the last two months..

I don’t know what’s lacking? can someone tell me what I can do to build my reach and community?

I have noticed a decrease an engagement. How are your Medium posts performing? Any change?

I've been writing on Medium for a long time and I love the platform but I have noticed a decrease in engagement. Fewer views, even fewer comments. I mostly write about writing, parenting, lifestyle, freelancing etc.

Hi everyone! I’m new here and thought I’d share my Medium profile and my latest piece so we can connect :)

I don’t write about anything particularly important, or maybe I write a little too much about myself. But then again, who has never written extensively about themselves and still somehow decided they’re not a narcissist? 😂 hehe

Anyway.

I’ve recently decided to take a chance on my writing skills, the last time I wrote something I was 16yo, so I’ve been publishing personal essays about relationships, family, existential crises, and the strange little thoughts that apparently need somewhere to live other than my head. 🥲

I would looove to connect with other writers here, discover what you’re writing, and get some feedback on my latest piece. Comments, impressions, criticism, existential disagreements: all welcome.

My last article: https://medium.com/@noleftspace/my-parents-became-people-so-did-i-0c3afbf82771

And my Medium profile, if you’d like to connect: https://medium.com/@noleftspace

Feel free to share yours too. I need more things to read and, apparently, more reasons to procrastinate from writing. ❤️
