Has anyone ever tried requesting Erik or Lyle Menendez’s recorded prison phone calls through the California Public Records Act (CPRA)?
With so many of Gypsy Rose’s prison calls being released, I’m curious why we haven’t seen anything similar from the Menendez brothers. Is it because California has stricter privacy laws, or has nobody actually tried requesting them?
Seeing the case back on the news again and all over social media, and I really hope they finally get parole. Especially, with a member of Menudo speaking out. I dated one of their cousins on their father’s side of the family in the early to mid 1990s and met a lot of their aunts/uncles and siblings and cousins, many of whom even testified in the trial. They were genuinely very lovely people and you would never assume something like this would happen in a family like that! I even recall one of their female cousin’s wedding which awkwardly took place like a month after the arrests happened, and before the trials started, and I imagine it must’ve been so hard for the family. For the record, I’m about the same age as Lyle. Yes, I know I’m old. 😅
As much as Leslie’s direct of Erik’s is often criticised, her closing argument was so strong and 10x better than Kuriyamas- I don’t understand how it resulted in a hung jury. They should have won..
Should I write to one of the Menendez brothers? If so, would you recommend Erik or Lyle? Has anyone here ever written to either of them and actually received a reply?
