The glasses recognize products as I pick them up and automatically add them to a virtual cart. No barcode scanning, no ceiling cameras, and no major store retrofit.

Testing my AI glasses checkout app in a real store

I’ve been building an AI-powered checkout system for smart glasses, and here I am testing it in an actual store.

The idea is simple: as you pick up products, the glasses recognize what you’re holding and automatically add them to a virtual cart. No barcode scanning, no traditional checkout flow, no ceiling-mounted cameras, shelf sensors, or complex store-wide sensor fusion.

The goal is simple: make checkout fast and seamless using the customer’s smart glasses, without requiring retailers to retrofit their stores with expensive infrastructure.
