An honest word about my Dainese experience...

First off, I want to be clear - I am not a shill for any company - I am usually the one who calls people out on Reddit all the time for their covert marketing BS - so take this story as you will...

I needed some gloves, so I decided to visit our local Dainese storefront & I figured 'why not?'

When I entered the store it was empty. A rep came out immediately & welcomed me, took my helmet/gloves/jacket & said "sit down here in our lounge, do you like your espresso black?" Then asked "Can I ionize your helmet to clean & kill any bacteria?" I said sure, and he put it in a ozone-smelling machine. I felt very welcome.

He then sat with me with a couple espressos and asked me about my biking history, kids, career, and why I visited. He told me how he was with Triumph for years, and some inside info on the business. He then told me about their company history, new products they were coming out with, plans they had to sponsor more races in the USA, and their commitment to the market. Very cool.

He then had an attractive woman bring some gloves out to try on, size, and fit my riding style. I ended up also trying on boots, jackets, tried the new airbag system they have setup as a demo, & the new AGV K7 helmet (he fitted my head to the right size perfectly using some measuring system), as well as some accessories. He even had the girl drive to a warehouse to get a specific Air Frame jacket in my size.

Now I'm thinking 'shit. I wanted to spend a couple hundred at most on gloves, but now I'm looking at $2k?' lol No, he discounted everything 70%! Jacket was a closeout, but nonetheless all was a great deal. Total was under $500 (I did not get the helmet).

When I was done, he retrieved my helmet (which smelled like ozone), organized everything I bought so it was easy to get in the bike bag, and gave me his phone # to text him if I have quality control issues or ever need something, and he would have it delivered by their van. Amazing.

I came from Private Equity, and this whole experience hit me right as a business. This is how high-end luxury treat customers, and it was refreshing, comfortable, and built loyalty from me. Now if it were crowded or short-staffed, I wouldn't have expect this level of play, but good for me!

I would suggest if you have a local store, try it...go off ours & I hope you are treated like I was.

Car hit me while I was riding my motorcycle in Miami and I broke my elbow

I was biking in Miami a few days ago when a car hit me. I ended up breaking my elbow and had to go to the hospital. Thankfully it wasn’t worse, but I’m in a cast now and have follow-up appointments coming up. The driver stayed at the scene and police took a report, their insurance has already contacted me and I have no idea how any of this works. Should I be talking to a lawyer before I deal with their insurance?

Do motorcycles bother you if they skip you in traffic?

The traffic on 95 can be horrendous and I see motorcycles weaving/passing everybody while we are standing still in a car...then inevitably I see somebody in a car who gets angry and tries to cut them off - dangerously!

Does it really anger you that much that a motorcycle can get around you easily in traffic?

Wouldn't you do it too if you had a motorcycle? I don't know, I'm torn about it lol
