Don Johnson’s "Heartbeat" (1986). But it's a wild 80s bootleg edition!
The Album:
Released in 1986, Heartbeat was the hit debut album by Miami Vice star Don Johnson. The title track went straight to #5 on the Billboard charts.
The Backstory:
I believe my aunt (women still love that guy, and probably men too =) ) picked up this cassette at a local market during a trip to Europe in the late 80s.
It is actually a rare Polish bootleg by a label called "T.J. Mix". Back then, Western originals were impossible to find behind the Iron Curtain, so local bootleggers made these to satisfy the massive demand for Western pop music.

Noob getting my beak wet
Was born early 80s, heard about the show but never really considered it until recently. I'm in my mid 40s now and somehow came across some clips and saw the last scene from the last episode on YouTube in a random series of events. In that moment I can't explain it, but it's almost like I felt this wave of nostalgia hit me and it feels like I just realised how much of modern life gets wasted caught up in endless BS which means nothing. I've been a synthwave fan for many years - Crocketts theme epitomises this genre.
Anyway, I'm going to invest in the entire series and plan to watch every season and every episode for the first time. Keen to hear if anyone has had a similar experience, and any pointers on which season are the best or which ones to avoid. There is something special here it seems and can't wait to jump in.

Rewatching later seasons, why does Tubbs get featured so infrequently/show becomes so Crockett focused? The first episode opens with him first and is 90% about him then he's like almost virtually non present in season 4 aside from minor support roles
I love the show but parts are really confusing writing choices to me. The calderone brother return thing was just kinda skipped over in one episode and we still never get to see what happens to the kidnapped/dead son of Tubbs I don't think they even mention it again 😭

Miami Vice Action Figures Are Coming
Factory Entertainment announced at SDCC that they are releasing a number of 3.75" action figures based on popular classic TV shows. Crockett & Tubbs will be available, as well as Magnum PI, Airwolf, Knight Rider, Battlestar Galactica (OG version), and The Six Million Dollar Man. I can't find a date for when pre-orders will be yet. I'm definitely getting these, anyone else?
