Looking for a mentor who has bred Mini Goldendoodles — brand new and want to do this right

Hi everyone,

I have a 2-year-old Mini Goldendoodle female. She’s had one heat. I’m considering breeding her for one litter, but I’m brand new and honestly overwhelmed. Before I do anything, I want to learn from someone who has actually done this responsibly.

I’m not asking for a stud right now. I’m looking for a mentor or experienced breeder who would be willing to talk me through the basics:

· What health testing she needs first
· How to time a breeding
· What whelping actually involves
· How to screen homes and write a contract
· Costs and risks I’m probably not thinking about
· Whether it’s even a good idea for my dog

If you’ve bred Mini Goldendoodles, Poodles, or Goldens and are willing to share advice, I’d be really grateful. I’m happy to pay a consult fee or compensate you for your time. I’m in [ Naples , Florida ] but happy to talk online.

I’m not trying to cut corners or be a backyard breeder. I’m trying to learn before making a mistake. If your advice is “don’t do it,” I’m open to hearing that too.

We are picking up our F1 Mini Goldendoodle in a month. We had an elderly mini who we lost last year. It's been a long time since we had a puppy, and now there are so many more brands, products, etc. We have a DIGGS crate. I'm looking for recommendations for toys, engagement puzzles, anything else your mini LOVES that we should get before we pick up the pup!

10 to 15 years is a wide range and I want to understand what actually determines where a dog lands. Is it mainly genetics and breeding quality or do lifestyle factors play as big a role after the dog comes home? And does size affect it the way it does in most other breeds?
