Speculation about Mitya's element and role

By now, all of us should be aware that Mitya is a catalyst user. Looking into the Snezhnayan craftable weapons (most of which are explicitly tied to Stellar reactions), almost all of them increase ATK and EM, with the sword and catalyst even giving Stellar DMG%. The only exceptions are the bow which gives DEF and EM, and the polearm (still debatable tho) which provides ER and ATK. Unlike Lunar characters, it seems like majority, if not all of the Stellar roster is ATK scaling, as these weapons appears to be good options for them (sword for Odette, polearm for Alyosha, claymore for Sandrone). Currently, only Mitya is said to be a catalyst user, so it is safe to assume that the catalyst will be good for him. If so, then he:

  1. should be ATK scaling

  2. should be from an element involved in Stellar reactions (for now Cryo, Electro, Anemo)

  3. does considerable Stellar damage (so Main/Sub DPS)

  4. is a 5 star! (as Stellar Main/Sub DPS should all be 5 stars, as seen with Lunar)

Most of the past craftables have been compatible for their regions' characters, at least from Natlan onwards. Nod-Krai even had 2 weapons dedicated to 2 separate Lunar reactions (polearm for Lunar Charged, catalyst for Lunar Bloom). The only weird one was the Nod-Krai sword (ER and HP). I'm using this to fuel my hope that Mitya gets the 5 star role he deserves.... or he can just pull a Zibai and use previously available weapons.

Anyways, what are your thoughts on his vision, rarity, etc? Feel free to share and speculate.

Genuinely worried about his rarity.

When I first saw him on the trailer, I immediately thought that he's a 5*, but I've seen people saying he seems to be a 4*...

There hasn't been any sussy leak claiming he's a 4* but I'm just so worried. I know I shouldn't expect much from this company but it's such a shame if he's a 4*, he seems really well designed.

Snezhnaya has the best men overall in the game

I've only included Snezhnaya origin men (as far as we know). It is possible that some of them will later be revealed to be from another nation originally.

My Mitya drawing ;w;

Canon Genshin character designs are a literal nightmare to draw for me, but I did it for him. Manifesting him to be either strong 5-star support or a DPS that isn't Cryo!

My Ranking for the Snezhnaya Characters Based on Design

I put Tsaritsa in S tier obviously because she l's iconic and Mitya is up there with her because I love his scholarly vibe.

Vodyanitsa, Vesna, and Odette are all in A tier because of their pretty outfits and hair.

Alyosha's design is great just not as good as the others so he's in B-tier.

Everybody in C-tier aren't bad or good, just basic compared to the others especially Danica with her spaghetti string skirt in the middle of a frostland.

Mitya and Dragonspine Mural similarities

Daily Mitya on twitter pointed out the similarities between the streak on Mitya's hair, his atomic symbol ornament, and the Dragonspine mural. The streak on his hair is also present on Nicole's dress.

What do we think mitya’s vision is?

Some people have been saying geo and while It is a good theory, what are the actual odds of a geo character being integrated into a cryo/electro/anemo/dendro meta? And I also don’t think he’s electro since stellar-conduct already has a lot of other characters, but maybe he fills the “rimegrass” niche

Mitya's relationship to Dmitri Mendeleev

I'm half asleep so bear with my ramblings kindly please (and sorry for any innacuracies, I'm by no means an expert on this stuff)

His name being a nickname for Dmitri, plus his clear atomic and (real life elements not genshin) elemental motifs really point to him being a reference to Dmitri Mendeleev.

Mendeleev was a scientist and historian, who created the periodic table and predicted gallium, scandium, and germanium. Gallium and germanium are used in electronics, and scandium is used in aerospace stuff.

Mendeleev also invented pyrocollodion, which is a powder used in explosives.

To me, if they continued that string of references then Mitya would either be electro or pyro. Based on the upcoming meta I'm more leaning toward electro though.
