This was the last hairstyle I had before I tattooed the top of my head. Now I keep it shaved, sometimes grow it all out for a while to take a break from the razor.

(Though I have fond memories of me mates doing it for me in a public restroom)

Ok wow this is bloody difficult on your own though. I struggled with the spike ratios and then of course hit the line where there was too much product to keep messing with it. I'll try again cause I know I can do better, can only learn with practice I guess

Think this was 15 years back? Had a Job in a salon so we'd be fucking round with colour every like 3 weeks. And I didn't have to buy my own hairspray for so long.

I was reading the wikipedia article for the 2004 gay horror film Hellbent and in one section it mentions that a singer who used the name 'Nick Name' when he was in this film, had modeled for A&F. His real name was Kent James, he was born in 1964 so I assume if this is true it would have been in the 80s? Unless they ever used models well into their 30s for their ads but that seems much older than what I associate with the brand. In the early 00s Kent adopted this alias as lead singer for the punk / metal band Nick Name & the Normals, there a pic at that link of what he looked like then and a few more magazine covers from this era here. Prior to that he appeared on Star Search 93 as more of a pop-rock singer so I'm thinking this would have been closer to what he looked like at the time he modeled, I've timestamped the clip to when his performance (as Kent & the Kommotion) starts. And I know he appeared in a few music videos for other artists in the 90s as well, one by Richard Marx where he wears a suit and is running to find an older man who may be in trouble, though I forget the song. Kent died in 2020, I believe he had other social media sites like facebook maybe but I've deliberately avoided that site for years now, and besides if it's still up it would probably just be a tribute page now.

He would have looked a lot different than he did during his biggest fame in the 00s of course, younger and before he shaved his head or wore a mohawk. And probably not as buff or built. If there is a model lookup site (official or unofficial) or if anyone can link to whatever modeling shots he might have done I'd like to see those, thanks.

Sometimes my hair does this if it's damp when I go to bed. One of these days I need to lean into it and style it back swept for real

I say that because I had an old man come up to me and say “nice ridge” the other day. Loved it.

Well that didn’t work 🤣 tried to dye it black, I’ve been told and warned when I dyed it red, that red is near impossible to cover. But I’d seen people do better jobs than this 🤣. “Crazy colour” Branded red is worth the £6z it hasn’t faded at all and refuses to be covered. So if anyone who is looking for a powerful red, go for that!

Still, I actually like this and this shade of red fits my style and clothes better tbf. Any thoughts?

Also don’t judge the state of my baby hawk, I’m growing it out to something different. But it’ll come back. It’s a summer thing for me to keep cool 😎 🥶
