Crestus through the years

Crestus through the years

My first post here but have posted in other places. I love birds (with an associated post grad degree) and my friends unanimously decided to name my mohawk "Crestus." Currently it's in a peacock phase, green fading to blue but I haven't taken any photos yet.

Decided it was time for some new crust pants so came here for inspo.

Party in the back

On low effort days I chuck a bunch of volumiser in and hope for the best. This is the longest it's ever been.

Green team

A comment on my previous post mentioned it seems as if green is less common these days, where I remember it as being maybe even stereotypical when I was a teen in the 90s.

Where did you all go? Did it get so fashion it unpunked itself again? 😂

As a side note yep I had red for a good decade, if only because it was the shade that stayed in my hair the best because of genetics and all that.

Someone has written on this...ankle

I keep forgetting to post this. It's on the inside of my left ankle. I got it in 2022 during a really bad time in my life while exiting from a long term abusive relationship, as well as a career that was draining everything from me.

I got it to remind myself not to wait around for a hero to save me and that the only one who could take the steps to a better life was... me. Every step since then has been for my own freedom from shame and fear. And yes, I'm doing so much better now. Recovering people pleaser, finally choosing myself. The will of one.

regreening

Nature is healing 🌱

I've had it blonde for most of the year and it was time to change it. Yeah I missed a spot. I'll get it tomorrow.

This is the longest it's ever been and I'm struggling with what seems to be a common issue of it falling apart as it goes around the bend. Square head issues.

Feel free to hit me with suggestions. But I'm fairly sure it's because it's cut to have the widest diameter there as the original hairstylist wasn't confident. I think once I get it evenly narrow all the way down it'll be easier to work with. It's a good 10cm wide going around the bend, tapering to a narrow V at both ends.

Crestus through the years

Just wanted to say hi. I'm such a huge bird nerd that my friends named my mohawk "Crestus" and it stuck. My current look is the middle centre - mostly bleached but I'm probably going to go back to my iconic green soon. I need to get the strip narrower. I struggle with the thickness of my hair to get that fully fanned out look, especially at this length. I do like keep it fluffy most of the time but think it's time to commit to the bit.
